I'd like to apologise for my judgemental post. I've come to see the error of my thinking and hope that I haven't caused others to sin. Perhaps my short sightedness can be a lesson to others but mostly for me.

I've been to a few weddings in my time but the most memorable are the ones in the LDS cultural hall with the bucket of KFC. Memorable for all the wrong reasons that is. I realise that the wedding is about the temple sealing. However it sure is nice when people put a little effort into the reception as well. so my 2 top tips for a nice wedding. 1) get married in the temple. 2) think outside the cultural hall.

"My God is..." Am I the only one thrown off by that wording?

I didn't know there were two Gods. Who is the other one? -
That was a wonderful article and insight from the author about her son who has Autism. Joseph Smith said that baptism alone is only half a baptism without the gift of the Holy Ghost. I wonder sometimes if the question about being baptised or not should also include the thought, would my child benefit from having the Holy Ghost as his/ her constant companion?

wo touchy is un understatement. Id rather flick a pin on a Grenade and see if i can play table tennis with it before id mention to my wife that she is perhaps acting this way because of PMS. However the cream does seem like a good idea, ill look it up and maybe approach it with her on the good weeks. Keeping a calendar would probably help too that way i atleast know when the bell is about to ring. Ive been sucker punched a few times in the past ( not literally) Thanks Anatess

ha ha,, Ok she's not really trying to kill me. She was just angry and used a fork to vent her frustration. Im not really looking to blame her. Im just after some practical advice on what could help her..

Ok about once a month I nearly get divorced. Seriously... I'm not exactly sure how to deal with my wife's PMS. Last month she actually stabbed me with a fork. This is not in her normal nature the rest of the month. Is there some kind of treatment, herbal tea, plant extract, super drug, something, anything, that can help with this? It seems to be getting worse as she gets older and I'm wondering how long before I need to go and buy myself a bullet proof vest. I understand that it's not really her fault. When I die going to have some serious questions with God about what he was thinking regarding hormones.

I would advise people to stay away from Astral Projection

Loudmouth your crazy, but this thread sure has opened my eyes to something I had never even new was possible. -
If it doesn't involve the exchange of money how can it be gambling? Side note: In Australia we have a government that spends millions of dollars on advertising campaigns for gambling responsibly and helping gamblers overcome their addictions. At the same time they make billions of dollars from gamblers through taxing poker machines.

Funny you mention that. I see mainly men holding their little babies outside of sacrament meetings rather than women. Are men trying to be good husbands and fathers or are they just looking for an excuse to jump out of sacrament meeting? Since theres so many men walking around with babies maybe we do need to change the nursing room for the man cave and issue men who enter that room with the man's nursing bra.

Was wondering that too.

how do you know he's the one?

I think the early saints proved to us that there never really is just one. -
Some of the new designed meeting houses are pretty fancy these days. I was wondering if the church will ever design a purpose built mans room. A place where the chill factor is greater than the doctrine. A place where men can go and cry on each others shoulder, a place where we can watch re runs of General conference on a plasma tv. Maybe even a mini fridge with some lemon lime and bitters on stock so we can sit around and share success stories about our manliness. I'm wondering what others would feel is beneficial and appropriate for the Man's Room.

Ive been on the meds for a week now, so far so good, haven't really had two many side effects a little sleepy but not to bad however i feel a whole lot better about things and nothing seems to bother me too much like it use to. I feel like i can actually confidently make some decisions again where as before everything seemed to difficult for me. At first i was a little down wondering how on earth my life had gotten to a point where i know need drugs but i have gotten over that and the benefits of the meds far outweigh my fears, thought, pride, etc...

It is strange that there aren't bike racks at church, I've never considered this before. On a personal level I must have been born the wrong height for the church's male toilet urinals. One is too high and the other is too low. If they could put one in that moves up and down like those fancy pulpits theses days that would be just perfect.

I hold a leadership position in my ward but my doctor has just put me on antidepressants. I have never been on them before so don't know quite what to expect and to be honest am still wondering how I ended up here. Anyway my question is for anyone who has been on antidepressants and how that may have effected their calling or not. Im wondering if i should ask for a release or just soldier through on my new found medication. Im also a little hesitant to bring it up with too many people in the ward in case i become a ward council project.

I see where your coming from, although the scriptures are full of examples of people who did believe in christ but had know idea about Joseph Smith. I just can't bite into the argument that having a Testimony of Joseph Smith is a prerequisite for having a relationship with Christ. Basically what he was saying is that everyone outside of the church has some kind of superficial relationship with christ if they believe in him..
-
I think his point was that Joseph smith brought forth extra light and knowledge about Christ so if a person doesn't except Joseph Smith they can't really get to know Christ. I did laugh a little when one of the class members asked about all those people in the scriptures who lived before Joseph Smith. He looked a little stumped then.

I wouldn't expect any organisation to offer those services for free. My point was they offer those services. Here is another simple example. In Australia the SDA church which started about the same time as ours have 48 schools, The LDS 0 would't it be nice to send my kids to an LDS school that way i dont have to spend my time reexplaining the false doctrine they were taught today at their current christian school.

Im not taking the Op's point of view but sometimes i do wonder what happens to all the tithing being paid and how it is invested. A few years ago the Church ran a 2 million dollar advertising campaign with billboards, adds, media, etc. around my area. There was a lot of hype around it but after it was all done and spent it had little effect on baptisms or the growth of the church in this area. The money probably didnt come out of tithing but it was still funded by the church and im perosnally have wondered if 2 million dollars couldn't have been spent somewhere better. We have a few members struggling for work and employment especially over the last few years yet there dosen't seem to be any specific employment specialist in our area to help people. We have only recently had an LDS social services for members placed in our area. There are many churches that have schools, hospitals, education programs, orderly care, mental health resources, etc, etc but those areas seem to be not the focus of the church atleast here. I have sought of come to the conclusion that the church is more focused on the spiritual side of things than the temporal or at least in this part of the world. We have 5 temples and thats something we can be greatfull for.

Our Gospel Doctrine teacher on Sunday put forward the idea that unless you have a testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith you can't really have a testimony or relationship with Christ. I didn't agree with this as i have many friends of many faiths some of which have very real and meaningful relationships with the Saviour. So im not sure exactly where he was coming from, Im assuming not the manual. Just wondering what other peoples thoughts were.
