When is it time to throw the book across the room?
Lakumi replied to Sunday21's topic in General Discussion
At the present time, I myself am reading Stephen King's It, a book I am sure no one here would or has read before. I only get annoyed with books if they are too easy, or boring-especially boring! -
Advice you wish you could give your former self
Lakumi replied to Sunday21's topic in General Discussion
I was so unpopular in school I never thought to ask anyone to any dances, they were pretty much off limits to my kind-no girls were sad that I never asked them out lol. Maybe they were in some way happy I never bothered them, I never tried to go out with anyone and kept to myself, even if they offered, because when the seldom time came, it was pity and I didn't want pity. I suppose I would just tell myself how awful life would be and not to let it hurt you as it did. -
I finally remembered where I heard the term God's Army, it was in Fist of the North Star, where they terrorize a town and Kenshiro kills them. Not the friendly bunch of missionaries the term more appropriately goes to...

Back to another related topic, how many Mormons are in your state, do you see Missionaries wandering around? I've seen them once, well they came to the door and my mom answered it, she mentioned name tags and I knew it was them, that was some years ago when I lived in dear Ottawa. I can't imagine Canada is at all good for spreading their message though. -

Yeah, but still-they're still human beings and for the most part, human beings suck lol (Straight people need a parade, closest hetero's have is St.Patricks Day and...well I won't get into the moronic idea of drinking and wandering around in the winter) -

At the end of the day, its still humans, gay people are just people and can be as cruel and spiteful as straight people. They're no better or worse most of the time. Oh and I don't think most Canadians know we even have Mormons -

Welcome, I am Lakumi, I was an athiest too, I donno what to call myself these days but I believe in something more. I assume you've been reading the Book of Mormon, have you gotten yourself the other two, lot of good stuff in them. -
Yes keeping that in is good for no one, I don't anymore and I am thankful for that, though no one really knows what to do with me and my weird issues lol (I wouldn't tell a Bishop "I have an irrational hatred of so and so or I don't like this and that" People don't generally deal with that sort of stuff, do any of your wards have an angry loner?

chemicals, if they can make faux meat I am sure they can make faux coffee (I mean they do, though I don't think they sell nettle and dandelion coffee in stores, not in normal stores anyway)

I know, I was stating my opinion since I too seem to pop up in these threads here and there as well. And showing my general appreciation of not being told to die as most places on the net say lol -
It's a book about a young wizard girl (witch?) who lives on this island of magic users, and goes to the mainland to explore and collect information because her people are obsessed with keeping records (everyone does it when they reach a certain age there-and can do it multiple times if they are skilled at it, Discordia is on her 3rd well I donno what to call it so for now just called it a mission lol). She soon learns of a captured princess and goes to free her and the two become friends and form an adventuring party. Only one of two fantasy books I have written that doesn't have any doll characters in it. The other one I wrote when I was 15 and has a lot of swears lol I wonder why that pepsi tasted so strange.

I lived in Toronto (well Greater Toronto Area) for a time, and it was the only place I've lived that had a temple (most provinces get one, some none, Alberta 3-I think)

Yeah, to me it doesn't effect my life weither you believe in same sex marriage or not. No one has told me to die in a fire so these debates and talks have been going smoothly. -
for me I asked myself "what could I bring to this place" and all I could answer was "insanity" (that and I can be extremely argumentative, uncooperative, I don't like mornings and become irrational about seemingly nothing) lol

Outside only, I have mentioned my fondness for the building styles before-so let us all discuss some of the favourites we may have.
-
Huh, I know how I'd react (none to kindly) but leaving because someone was rude would be a defeat and I, in all my twisted ideas, would stay to spite them lol (amongst other reasons, obviously, if I was a church goer)
-
Yeah I liked the ward here, though it's very small (building small, the congregation seems a good size) though I normally find insane faults with most everyone I meet I ultimately felt they were a nice bunch. Just thought I'd say a nice thing about the folk. Mormons are the reason I love egg salad sandwiches lol. Do you know why they leave, do they say?

There is only 1 type of tea I enjoy and that's chai (an indian tea I only ever have at indian resturants and...whenever I one day make it to India) Coffee, there's a pumpkin spice latte, but coffee especially makes me jittery and I dislike it. Though I always found Starbucks overpriced and so-so. I got a 3.50 lemonade once, ate every icecube in it too.

that makes sense
-
nowhere, I was using it as an example
-
Venom how, I don't see how someone not believing is venomous, (granted that reason was not given but it's a reason people leave churches) I suppose telling people about it may be but personal unbelief contained only to you... I donno.

how many are active, the one here I'd say 40? No more then 50-but this is a small town and Canada doesn't have a large LDS population outside Alberta.

Oh yes Early Christian history is a favourite subject of study, and the unincluded gospels.
