  1. I believe Heavenly Father looks at the inward man and intervenes at His will. My father was an alcoholic. He almost died from it many times. He was by no means a religious man nor did he go to any church and I never in my life saw him pray. One time when he ended up in the hospital (I was only 3 years old) he almost died from alcohol. He saw a red robin at his hospital window. For some reason he felt that was the Lord reaching out to him. He prayed that very moment that the Lord touch him and heal him of his alcoholism. My dad walked out of that hospital a few days later and NEVER in his 83 years of living drank again. I believe the Lord heard his prayers, looked at the inward man not the alcoholic man, and intervened in his life. My dad only went to church a couple times in his whole life...but never drank again. Yes.. He does intervene.
  2. It's a little late to do this...but, may be useful for other gift giving days. When my husband and I are walking through ANY store, I watch those things that he looks at. But, you have to watch if he looks and leave it Or does he look and pick it up only for a second... or does he keep looking and picking it up and go back to it. For the past month I watched my husband and every time we went anywhere that had BBQ grills, he went and looked at them. He stayed looking for a long time, opening, closing, and checking them out telling me how nice they are. So... for Father's Day I bought him a 6 Grill BBQ grill. It's the one he looked at each time even though there were at least 10 other grills there. I knew that one was the one he would want. I do the same thing with my grand children for birthday's and Christmas. Take them shopping and just watch. If they pick up a toy and put it down right away... I know they will lose interest pretty quickly, so I don't buy that toy. I buy the toy that holds their interest for a good period of time. Hope that make sense.
  3. I can hardly believe you would post the word ZOMBIES and not have some scary picture to go along with it.. Geesh... what's this world coming to!
  4. We have Sacrament first. Husband and I like it that way.
  5. I would still eat a bag of pumpkin seeds every day.
  6. Early date night. Went to see Jurassic World. We really liked it. Popcorn and hand holding was fun too. LOL
  7. I don't even have to read any of this because... That is an UNACCEPTABLE question and so childish. Shame on HIM!
  8. Sounds like you might want us to tell you that in YOUR circumstance... it's okay for a free roll in the hay to suit your manly lust. Poor YOU! You make me sick! My stomach turned when I read your post. You are UNBELIEVABLY selfish. I could go on and on and on.... but, ...
  9. Welcome. Thank you very much for sharing your testimony with us.
  10. Mad Max: Fury Road... I thought I would hate it, but I really liked it. My husband and nephew loved it!
  11. Happy for you to have a good experience. We live close enough that we visit often...and love it more each time.
  12. Little Boy. OMGosh... this is an emotional movie. It's really very good...but, made me cry in at least 3 different places. The little boy is totally adorable!
  13. For our date night we went to see Avengers: Age of Ultron. I loved it! Husband slept through it. LOL We will go see it again so he can actually see it.
  14. Of course my response is only knowing what you are telling and not hearing his point in the matter. But, if what you state is fact, then.... His temper frightens you... GET OUT NOW! You feel hopeless and terrifeid... GET OUT NOW! If you are so frightened of this man that you are having panic attacks, that is not a good sign. This is someone you will spend the rest of your life and eternity with if sealed. Why would you want to live like that. It will NOT get better by getting married. If he is picking fights with you now... they will be worse when you get married. They won't just disappear! Abusive people normally will be VERY apologetic after they pick the fight or abuse a person. Don't let that fool you. It sounds like you both need to grow up a little and/or get into counseling. Praying you make the right decision.
  15. We ride. We have on road and off road bikes. Mine happens to be dual sport...so I can ride it on and off road. My husband has the Suzukie Hayabusa and it is FAST! I love that bike...but, always a little afraid on it because it is super fast. Be sure to wear the right riding gear for the bike you or he will be on. It's a really fun experience. These are our bikes.
  16. How about... Find a penny, pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck. I changed that around to: Find a penny, pick it up... now say a prayer for a Missionary or someone you knows needs a special prayer. No.. it doesn't rhyme, but it a great way to keep those Missionaries and others in prayer. I find lots of pennies. :)
  17. I can tell you a little story about Mom and Dad. Mom was a Registered Nurse her whole life until about 26 years ago when her knees gave out on her and she couldn't stand for any length of time. Was a super smart single woman... about 57 or so years old. Divorced. Dad... a widower for many years has the mentality of a 12 year old. He is mentality challenged. Dysfunctional in many ways. Has no idea about money... can't count change. If you told him to go buy a pair of socks, he would ask for $100 to buy them...but he would ask for $25 to go buy a car. (That's an extreme...but, it's pretty much how he is) But, ask him for directions and he will tell you exactly where something is using north, south, east, west type directions. One Sunday, Mom was being lazy and decided she wasn't going to church. But, the spirit kept prompting her to go...so she got up and went. While there, she saw an old friend that she had not seen in a long while. This old friend came up to her and said, "I want you to meet someone". That "someone" was dad. So, that's how dad and mom got introduced. Had mom not followed the spirit, she would not have been in church that day to see her long lost friend who introduced her to dad. Now... here's the other part of the story. Remember above I said that Mom is a super smart woman and dad has the mentality of a 12 year old? Why in the world would Mom be interested in a man that was mentality challenged when she was such a smart woman... it wasn't his looks, because he's not really a handsome man? Because the Lord knew that years later Mom would be the one that needed care giving, but would still have her full brain function. He also knew that Dad...even though he was mentality challenged would be the caregiver and be willing to do all the daily living chores that she cannot do. Dad ended out being the one that would hold the house together for Mom and him. He cooks, cleans, shops, gets up at least 3 times a night to give her the care she needs. He's done it by himself for many years until the last 5 years when we had to move in to take over most of the care. Mom is completely bedridden now...but, dad still shops, cleans, cooks, and gets up at night with her. But, now he can only minimally take care of her which is why we moved in to help. But, mom still has her brains intact and she handles all the banking, bill paying, and even holds a calling from her bed. She does those things that dad could never do because he doesn't understand how to do them. So... I guess what I am saying is... try harder and don't throw away anything that the Lord may put in front of you. This family has seen miracles in our lives because of Mom and Dad being together. Listen to the spirit. Let the spirit guide you...but, YOU need to get out there and do the work. You need to be open to even the possibilities that the person you see that may not be beautiful... may not be smart, but...could actually be "the one". Hope you found her already.
  18. My family is from back East and they are very superstitious. It's bad luck to walk under a ladder. If your left hand itches it means you will get unexpected money BUT if you scratch your hand NO money! If your right hand itches it means you will get a bill or owe money out. Scratching it means nothing. If you rock a rocking chair with no one in it, it means someone will die in the family. If a grand father clock stops, you will hear that someone died at the same time the clock stopped. If your nose itches it means you will kiss a fool. A black cat crosses your path, you will earn riches... it's good luck. You MUST cut both ends of a cucumber off and throw them away or you will get poisoned. If you walk out of your house to leave to go somewhere you NEVER turn around and go back into the house unless when you get in the house you sit down for a few seconds. If you don't sit for a few seconds, you will have bad luck on the trip. I am sure there are lots more my mom and dad believed in...but, can't think of them. For me... I am not superstitious, although if my left hand itches, I am sure not to scratch it. LOL
  19. Turbo Tax... it was totally free this year for both Fed and State. Usually have to pay for State part. I always owe...but, don't send any money until I get the first notice from them that I owe and will get a penalty if I don't pay by.. I send it in at the last minute.
