  1. Expanding my process serving a bit, working a second job and possibly traveling to Utah to meet a few of my early on sister missionaries that I spoke with back in 2012.
  2. Here in Washington State its legal for gay couples to marry and they are pushing hard to get it onto the ballot in Oregon as well. Wonder how that will effect anything around here. Reminds me of a recent lawsuit that a gay couple took to a cake maker because the maker refused to make them a wedding cake due to it conflicting with the makers religious and personal beliefs. While I understand the concept of no discrimination with employment, housing, ect when you own a business, or run a church... it should be at the discretion of the church or business owner to do service or not. That's like saying if I walk with no shirt into Winco and they refuse me service, I sue them for discrimination... People who do things like this I feel do it to upset an establishment or purely for the attention. Political correctness and progressiveness is a disease among-st our way of life these days. Being a Conservative in a very liberal area I see that on a daily basis. *Headache*

I attend Sacrament at a YSA Ward every now and then when time allows, while most of the women seem to follow the general layout of what the sister missionaries wear there are a few men and women who do not dress 'the norm' so to speak. Though I will admit I am the only guy who goes with pierced ears, I usually take them out out of respect but every now and then I find myself slipping up and remember when I catch the bishop looking at them.
  4. It doesn't seem like excommunicated LDS get the spotlight very often, and she seems to be basking in it for her week worth of fame before she fades and attention is drawn elsewhere. She knew what she was doing, no excuses. Now she will either repent and down the road return or move on.
  5. I miss having a classy first lady, a conservative family in the white house, and a President that is actually a real man(watch his newly released working out video...), not weak at heart. I saw this earlier and I find it very disturbing, just one of the many reminders that I was fortunate enough to have grown up in the time that I did so I would not have to encounter this stuff as a child. I fear for the junk my daughter will be put through though, but she is a die hard conservative just like daddy so we will see who she puts in their place. We live in an invasive era that many would rather accept and deal with than fight. The government should fear its citizens, but that is not the case anymore.
  6. Mine is my 'professional' self taken picture that I use for my website, twitter and LinkedIn accounts to maintain a professional image for potential clients. If an Attorney at Law saw a picture of me playing a gig or wearing a band shirt well... I would probably get skimmed over pretty quickly.
  7. He is the guy that gets called after I get shot at.
  8. I will start off by saying that I am a single father. I was raised as a Baptist and then grew to be more of an Agnostic for my high school years and a little later. I was raised in a family that stressed the importance of waiting for marriage but in my late teens I fell for the temptation. I continued my unsafe practices as time went on and eventually with one of my girlfriends on the final night of our relationship my daughter was conceived. The next morning she came clean about being unfaithful, broke up with me and then I ended up with a beautiful daughter who changed my life. I will also say that I am adopted, I have seven siblings out there. I am the oldest and was adopted with a sister who was a year younger. Let us just say that my biological mother was very... unwise and very busy... I was adopted into a very loving home and a very loving family. My parents were in their 40's when they adopted my sister and I. I was essentially raised by a different generation with better morals and ethics than what you see in todays society. While being a single parent is tough, it is something that I wouldn't change for the world. Everyday I get to see my daughter always brightens even my darkest of days. She truly has been a blessing for me and came to me in a very dark time of my life. I changed for her, the moment I held her in my arms something inside of my just changed and I let go of alot of my old bad ways. I haven't read all of the replies on here, but I am a firm believer in pro life. It may be your body, but that body inside of you does not belong to you. That being said I would urge you to consider raising this life you have brought into the world or putting the child up for adoption once he or she is born. Just because this guy is anti religion now doesn't mean he will be a month from now, a year from now. He fears what he does not understand. There is a difference between knowing and understanding. Just because he knows something about the LDS faith, such as the fact only members who are worth enough with a temple recommend may enter does not mean he truly understands the significance behind it. I know a woman who is a single mother and LDS raising her daughter. Life is tough, but she wouldn't change anything for the world. That is my few cents on this subject.
  9. Ah, thats all I needed to know. I can see why you are having difficulty finding anyone. I have family that is law enforcement down in Corvallis actually and another that is running for Sheriff up north from there as well. Anyways, despite the distance I would say that Salem and Eugene are sure to have PI's. Corvallis I would imagine has atleast one or two as well. I am assuming mirkwood is a PI since he is offering services, just look around those area's and see what they have to offer if thats the route you would like to go.
  10. I am not member, but from what I understand the problem you have currently is more common than one might assume. Clearly consulting your Bishop and being entirely truthful is the way to go, he renders guidance and possible punishment depending on the situation at hand. In regards to your petting problem and viewing adult material, perhaps changing your lifestyle a little so you are not in that situation that it is more inclined to happen in the first place would be the best route to go. Say, working out more or just being out of the house in general more often will make you feel less inclined to do such things than say... sitting around the house or just hanging out on the computer. Idle hands do the devils work I have been told. Even I have found my mind to wander when I am very bored so I try to keep busy. If you feel yourself going into a 'lapse' immediately change your situation or setting whether it be reading from the BoM, going on a walk, or heck trolling some newbs on CoD. My two cents, or rather a few cents in this post.
  11. So it essentially has to be rededicated when someone without a recommend, say a remodeling crew, enters the building beyond the scanning point? I know the Portland Temple has an atrium where investigators and members without recommends can go in and sit literally inside of the Temple. I didn't know until the Sisters had told me, I was always afraid of walking in and offending someone.
  12. You are then seeking answers for all of the right reasons, I would pursue the same action as you. Bet you could find a mugshot with ease, there are quite a few agencies out there these days that publicly release mugshots from arrests. What part of the Oregon Coast are you located on? Southern? Middle towards Florence? Or Northern towards Canon Beach, Seaside, ect?
  13. Why are you exactly trying to obtain all of this information if I may inquire? Personal curiosity? The individual in question is being deceptive and you want to know the extent? And as for PI's just remember to look around at their credentials and what they have to offer in terms of pricing and turnover time. In time I plan to become a licensed PI, but that will be a couple years down the road once I am a completely established server.
  14. I see them in FHE and Sacrament, but beyond that I don't spend additional time. I have a couple of the YSA members on my Facebook, but I don't dare add the Bishop to my friend list.
  15. I have an ASUS Laptop, Samsung Chromebook, Nexus 7 Tablet, iPhone on AT&T for my personal line and a Droid on Verizon for my work. Techno-Overload for me.
  16. I kind of skimmed so forgive me if I missed anything. Missionary work is highly encouraged for all members to participate in. Even if you are not currently serving as a full time missionary I know in the YSA I attend they share missionary moments during Priesthood. Some of the guys work in door to door sales and are very effective preaching via that route, especially since they are returned missionaries. I see that all local missionaries have a tablet now to use to help preach the gospel online, maintain contact with current investigators and seek new ones as well via Facebook during down time. Internet is a effective way to reach out to a larger base, but in the end it is that face to face interaction I think that really counts. Well... obviously actually because the missionary will likely be the one baptizing you and possibly confirming you as well. The fact that the Church is taking up such a big online presence though, especially lately, shows that social media is a very effective way to reach out better. It was a stubborn online missionary basically shoved me into the arms of the locals, haha. I will likely be meeting her this summer as well when she comes through.
  17. The YSA has a very big variety here, including tattoos, piercings, long hair, even one guy wears a spiked leather jacket to sacrament. I know a girl that attends from when I used to work for Verizon that drinks tea as well. You would be surprised, I am sure you would fit in atleast a little. I have tattoo's but they are not visible while dressed nice, took out most of my piercings. I wear my ears in sometimes when serving, generally the less 'clean cut professional' you look knocking on that persons door the more receptive they are until they realize its to late when they confirmed their identity to me and I am shoving the papers into their hands.
  18. I guess I kind of feel like a jerk though in a way over going from always being so receptive and willing to talk to just closed off from them. They're trying to get me to attend Sacrament at the local ward rather than attend the YSA. At the Baptism there was literally a full house. "You should come check out our ward, we have lots of single women" was a line I heard a few times over too, lol... I'll probably attend the baptism tomorrow, I told them though I will likely go attend Sacrament in a few months at the local ward. I love the YSA, have a few good friends there right now. I have seen five marriages result from the YSA in the past six months of attending as well and with summer around the corner there is quite a few new faces popping up from all over.
  19. Being of a Baptist upbringing I was taught that God was the only God and that there is one Godhead as in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are one in the same. This happened to have been a view I always disagreed with though since a child because the idea of such a belief did not feel right in my heart. That is about as simple as I can put it without going into a large amount of extra detail.
  20. Life has its ups and downs, and I have always felt the downs were a reminder to enjoy the ups and learn as well. You are on hard times, but you will pull through and happiness will be yours once again. Sending prayers your way.
  21. I would highly suggest using a Private Investigator due to the extensive nature of the search. Using different names over a 20 year period with a long rap sheet would be difficult for even those online services to track down everything entirely. A Private Investigator will have connections, pull strings, and get you every detail and piece of information he or she can from those case files. Normally I am all for being proactive and gathering information on your own accord but with that extensive amount of information I think it would be best to rely on a professional. Just my two cents.
  22. Dead are the days of me having all of my friends and families numbers memorized by heart. Now I have over a dozen email addresses, several social media outlets, two cell phones (smartphones) and a whole lot of paperwork. Dead are the days of a simple life. Sometimes I wish I could just relive that old peace for a day again, I never did look forward to growing up when I was a kid like most of my friends but like many I did take it for granted sadly.
  23. Over my time as an investigator it has been very interesting seeing the unique personalities of all the awesome missionaries I have encountered. Some I just click with better than others though for obvious reasons as we are all different. I lived in a different area of town for awhile then moved to where I am now but still attend the same YSA Ward. Interestingly the missionaries somehow tracked me down despite me never giving out any information. I told them they should be future process servers when they get home, made them nervous with that comment after hearing some of my experiences doing my job. Though they meet their fair share of interesting people as well as they do way more door knocking than I do. I have seen them twice, once at a baptism for the local ward and once coming by my door with a brief encounter on my front patio. Beyond that we just talk via text and they always want to meet with me but I always am standoffish with them because I have done the lessons many times over. Kind of feel bad so I might make an appearance at a baptism for the local ward tomorrow that they have been inviting me to for the past month. It's to the point that a friend at the YSA Ward always says I should talk with the missionaries and I always say "Nope!". Not sure why I am so... negative? I guess is the word for it in regards to meeting with them. They always go above and beyond compared to even my regular friends. Guess I just feel bad for not being as open and talkative to missionaries as I used to be. Oh and the church actually calls me a couple times as week as well now from a Salt Lake City area code. I wonder how often the church pursues legal action... I can't imagine very much... That would be cool serving around here for the LDS Church if that ever happens... Hmm. Sorry for the rant, my different mindset has been bothering me and felt like I needed to get it off my back so to speak.
  24. I carry when I go out and I have a knife in my boot as well so I generally am safe. However if it is a circumstance that I feel like I will be in danger I can request a civil standby with the Sheriff's Dept. I always retain video evidence from my dash cam and a cam on me though during the serve for evidence. I have been assaulted several times, the biting from a woman being the worst. Felt like I was in The Walking Dead when that happened, LOL!
  25. It generally is easy to discover if someone has a criminal conviction with minimal effort and no background check. Criminal convictions as stated earlier are a matter of public record, sometimes they get sealed, vacated or expunged completely however a majority of the time said individual with a conviction does not attempt to do that. Working as a process server it is vital I know if this person will be more inclined to get physical or even attempt to shoot me than your average contact. A quick Google search often yields results as most newspapers publish a list of convictions everyday. Also the state courts, in your case Oregon, usually has a free search option for some, but sometimes you have to pay. Keep in mind that is for Oregon convictions only, not countrywide. A little at home research will often yield a great deal of results if someone has been in the justice system at some point. Hope in the end you did find out what you needed to.
