  1. Sorry (although well intention-ed) implies that things are going bad, satan wants you to think that all is lost and you have no hope, from a spiritual perspective everyone is on their own journey so embrace the different journeys you encounter in this lifetime. My wife left the Church 5 years ago and when members say sorry to me its like throwing salt to the wound and thats when my burdens (shame and guilt) started to be overwhelming, until one day I realized that Jesus did all the suffering for me and I needed to pass all my burdens on to him. When I did that, thats when the Atonement came alive to me and I felt it working in my life. Forget about the "wrong" in any situation and let Jesus handle that, you just focus on moving forward and doing the best with what you been dealt but most of all be Happy that God gave us trials to make us stronger and when we fall short he gave us a savior. Its still hard for me and I continue to struggle but I find it very encouraging the more I get to know my brother Jesus. We are here for your support and to cheer you on.
  2. I have no idea what anyother church does or how they worship. But my guess would be that for what ever reason a person leaves one church to join another, those same reasons will surface again and they will run again. The old saying....the grass is not always greener on the other side.
  3. My wife is one of those that when she left the LDS church she was determined to find a better church somewhere else. She went to several and finally gave up because none of them felt right to her, she still has a relationship with God and our Savior Jesus Christ but no longer believes that any man (prophet, bishop, pope etc..) should get between you and God. Her experience would be mine if I had left the LDS church too, except I would not visit any other church because I already know that there is nothing better that any other church could offer. I think that is the same reason many that leave dont continue else where because deep down they still do have a testimony of the fullness of the gospel but for some reason or another no longer are motivated to be active.
  4. The original post does not come off as someone hurt, he is snarky and obviously has a bone to pick with the church. That is way different from other posters in this forum that clearly state that they are torn, troubled and are seeking comfort. I have my moments too when I post about my frustrations about our church, its more of a venting for me and everyone responds accordingly, I dont expect sympathy. I admit Im not the best at story telling. At the time my wife was leaving the church she was teaching my kids that tithing was a scam and that if you really want to make a difference with your monetary offerings that one way was to give money directly to a charity or the homeless people. So she does that and the homeless man buys beer. It was quite hilarious when the homeless man told us what he did with the money. My kids were laughing. Similar to the OP, he has money but doesnt trust the churchs tithe system and wants to make a REAL difference by donating directly to a cause. I hope he doesnt have a similar experience to my wife.
  5. It sounds like the OP has a lot of animosity toward the LDS church, whether he is on his way out or half way out the door, what he does with that money he considers tithes is between him and the Lord. About 5 yrs ago when my wife was in the process of leaving the church she was going through all types of emotions, most of her deep rooted anger toward the church stemmed from information she found online, one of which accuses our prophets and apostles as living lavishly off of the church tithes. She thinks paying tithes to a church is a scam and there are better ways to using that money. So one day we were at a fast food restaurant and at a corner table was a homeless man enjoying a snack. My wife pulled out a $20 bill and gave it to the homeless man. While we were sitting down eating our food my kids were impressed and complimenting my wife for giving to the poor and needy. My wife said something to the extent that "you dont have to be mormon to care for the needy". After about 30mins while we were finishing up our meal the homeless man (who had left the restaurant) returns and approaches my wife...he hands my wife about six dollars and some change...my wife says "NO,NO,NO thats for you to spend it all"...The homeless man replies.."No, Im an honest man, I just needed money to buy my beer, now here take the change".
  6. I think its a personal decision between you and God, we all have our own unique situations.
  7. Dr. Bruce Lipton (Cellular Biologist/PHD/Medical school professor) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_kwbHpBKEo Watch the whole 2.5 hours to get a full understanding of his research but the part you asked for is at 1:51:00 - Evolution wasn't an accident, creation and evolution simultaneously occurs here are some other footnotes and their timelines 06:15 - the belief of genetic determinism 09:10 - the mission of science 36:00 - genes dont control biology, they are only a blueprint 1:19:00 electromagnetic forces 1:51:00 - Evolution not by accident 1:51:00 - Darwinian flow chart 2:28:00 - power of prayer and power of hate 2:29:30 - Dr Bruce goes from a "non-spiritual" scientist to now believing in spiritual identity
  8. I know how you feel and of course the best thing to do is stay in class. If you are not getting anything out of it maybe you should look at it from a different perspective and ask yourself what can you add to the class. Keep in mind that the new way of teaching sunday school and auxiliary classes are for students to teach each other and the teacher to primarily be a facilitator, so if the lessons are boring then its probably because the students are not speaking up to create a better discussion. I know it might be hard but try using that EQ class as a way for you to practice turning your negative energy into positive energy. My current EQ presidency is similar to yours and I too have felt like skipping class a few months ago then I noticed that a few of the newer EQ members and one of the new converts were always enjoying themselves in EQ class and its because they have no expectations where as I was here sitting in my little corner comparing the new presidency to previous presidencies and creating a negative energy.

  10. Very true, I have learned early on in this forum that people will speak their minds according to their own life experiences and perspectives, It is up to me (as the one seeking advice) to filter through the information that adds value to my situation. Here is something to think about - the 35yr old version of me would probably not accept or like advice from the 40yr old version of me. To the OP, keep asking questions and learn from any source that you can. Fact of the matter is that you need to live your life and experience things for your self. Five yrs ago my wife left the church and tried to make the kids leave too, at the time it was very hard and it still kind of is, I came here asking questions but really I was seeking comfort because I already knew that life is filled with trials. No one can live your trials for you.
  11. Dont worry bro, you walked straight into a trap. You are complaining about a woman in a forum mostly occupied by women, what'd you expect?
  12. When I was dating my wife we would visit her friends house, her friend was married with two children under the age of 5, their kitchen was loaded and stacked with dirty dishes everywhere, every time we stopped by I kept seeing those huge pile of dishes until one day something magical happened...the mountain of dishes became part of the decor. That was a good lesson for me because when we eventually got married and had kids we had the same decor.
  13. extremehealthradio on youtube is one podcast that I got hooked on recently. He interviews a lot of the top specialists in the nutrition and medicine fields. I am excited to know that the future of our human health development is finally moving forward in the mainstream and people are becoming aware and informed. Thank you internet.
  14. Good luck, I got my blood-sugar tests done this past week. and I went from borderline pre-diabetic in 2015, which was my first test, to dropping a few points back into the normal range this past week. I avoided the doctor the whole of 2016 because I failed to change my eating habits and was afraid that the next time I saw him I would be pre-diabetic which would mean that my insurance rates would go up, heck I even gained 10lbs from 2015 to now. My goal for 2017 is to eliminate all sodas/ juices, and french fries. Thats it. Maybe in 2018 Ill eliminate the big macs and ice creams.
  15. The emphasis was on the 'female motherly role' like doing the laundry, dishes, cooking, changing daipers..everything a mother does, and on top of that those responsibilitys take precedence over any school or sports activities, so they are like a full time 2nd mother and thats why they develop feminine traits. is that what the eldest filipino boys do too?
  16. In the Samoan culture the oldest boy is raised to be the care taker of his younger siblings thus inheriting a female motherly role, guess what kind of adult he turns out to be? yup gay. Sounds like its similar to your phillipino example in that its a social thing that has become an accepted cultural practice, not genetics or inhereted. Autism is a result of biological or chemical imbalances that these kids are born with or develop at a young age, they do not choose to be that way so I would call it a condition not a behavior. I believe science is narrowing down the biological root cause of autism. A close relative of mine who decides to participate in homosexual activity for the first time at the age of 62 is a chosen behavior.
  17. Time (science) will reveal whats really going on in the biological make up of human beings. Some argue that there is no gay dna like there is no murder dna or pedophile dna, so is being LGBT a behavior? can behavior be inherited like physical traits and disease are inherited or is our behavior a result of being exposed, manipulated or socialized into any particular social problem, in this case LGBT? I remember hearing of one particular clinic surveying all their gay clients and almost 90% of those gay males were molested or sexually violated before the age of 12. This is one of the ways a person can go down the path of being sexually confused or gay. The argument coming from the LGBT side that they didnt choose to be that way and that it was nature aka born that way, could possibly be a deterrent from admitting or finding that trigger in their childhood, after all if being LGBT is a behavior and they were born that way then it is the very first behavior in the history of mankind where people don't have a choice. To the OP. Does your male friend simply have female traits or is he full on homosexual? Whatever the case and if he was born or chose to be that way i believe that it is his trial and he is blessed to have you in his life to support and love him. I have 3 daughters the oldest and youngest are very feminine and girly (physically and mentally). The middle one looks different physically, she inherited the physical traits of my brother-in-law who is a very big manly type of man and looks like she could be his kid. She did not have a choice of her physical attributes. It doesnt stop there with my middle child. When she was a toddler she did some weird things like stare at my wifes body parts in a weird way that toddlers dont usually do, in kindergarden she always talked about her girl classmates in weird ways that made me raise my eyebrows. In the 1st and 2nd grades she would always try to spy on my oldest daughter while she was changing, my oldest daughter called her a creeper. It crossed my mind that she could possibly grow up to be a lesbian and if she did there is absolutely no influence or exposure in my household that would cause her to be that way, I would adamantly proclaim that she was born that way. Now that she is 9yrs old and continues to grow up in a house of females where everything was and still is pink I hope that she has grown out of that phase and is not simply suppressing it. I can only imagine if a female child like mine were to be raised in a less than ideal environment where there is abuse and neglect, that could be the trigger that catapults her into that lifestyle. I see what you are saying, I do believe that negative and positive energy affect everything in our lives from our health, finances and sexuality. Time will continue to reveal as we learn more about the human race.
  18. I have been researching healthy living and slowly trying to implement good habits into my daily life. What I learned over the past few months about health and science is very interesting. For example water is more then just a liquid that hydrates us, its a structure that has memory and information stored in it. Dr Emoto from japan observed that frozen water that has negative energy looks very ugly, frozen water that has positive energy looks pretty. Other researchers have chimed in and told Dr. Emoto that water does have negative and positive properties and that is why it looks the way it does in a frozen state. They did a test and put several glasses of water on paper that had words written on it and placed it in a freezer. The glass that was sitting on the words "hitler" looked very ugly when it froze, another glass that was on a positive word like "happy" looked pretty when it froze. One researcher went so far to say that when you pray over your water at meal time the water becomes positive. The more us humans advance in science, the more proof will support that God exists as the positive energy and Satan as the negative energy. So whether you call it negative energy, unhealthy, or Satan...yes all those things can make you sick. imho
