  1. Here are two places where CK states that he doesn't believe the atonement started in Gethsemane. Wrong. Christ's preparation to atone was what occurred in Gethsemane, but the sacrifice for sin took place on the cross.
  2. Yeah and you disgust me CK. Try not to sound so high and mighty you may just be translated soon. Give me a break. You my friend are on the road to apostasy. So basically you ingnore the teachings of latter day apostles and prophets who say that the the SUFFERING in Gethsemane was part of the Atonement. When one starts to put their own beliefs before the doctrine taught by living prophets one cuts themselves off from the truth.
  3. I would call Girlydolphin and ask her how her day has been.
  4. I am not trying to change his mind. I am just trying to make sure that others that read this aren't confused.
  5. I have no beef with someone that wants to incorporate other religion's icons into their own worship. Have a cross or don't. I could care less. This thread though was about incorporating something that may be offensive to others into a primary activity. Now while I generally believe that most people shouldn't take offense at trivial matters, this is a point I would have to say crosses that line. We have been instructed to teach certain things and I believe that adding something like this to a primary activity was probably not too well thought out. But again it really isn't too big a deal as long as we are teaching our children correct principles. The thing that really bothers me is this quote: I will not accept that Crimson, that is just false doctrine. The atonement began in the Garden. If you don't believe it do some scripture reading yourself. I would suggest D&C 19 particularly verses 16-19. The atonement finished with Christ's death obviously, but just because that death happened on a cross doesn't mean the cross is the important part of the atonement.
  6. K well if you constantly bake yourself your chances of getting SKIN cancer go up dramatically. Not other cancers of course. So I believe that one.
  7. My parents are cooking me a roast right now for my birthday. The person below me is or has sung in a choir.
  8. Let's see some of these grand and in my case not so grand trees. Kinda small but hey I am alone most of the time. My kids and I just set it up today. Sorry so blurry.
  9. I agree PC. I remember there was a little boy that must have lived on the streets in dowtown San Diego. I would always see him by the trolley station on my way home for work. Usually when I worked the morning shift I would grab lunch from McDonald's on my way home. I would always buy an extra cheeseburger in case I saw the boy. I felt much better about giving him the food instead of money because I had no control over how it would be spent. I tend to not give to many these day, not because I am a grouch but because I am barely keeping myself off the street. I would rather, like PC says donate to something that would help that person raise themselves out of the slums rather then give them only a one day supply of food, drugs, or drink.

  19. I would direct you to this scripture: John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. In this case Jesus gave us the promise to know if what he has asked us to do is right. He will let us know. The way that it is different is that in one you are simply seeking your own life, while in the other you are seeking divine truth.
  20. I just wanted you all to see this. Siouxz is a reptile. She just sent me this and I had to share.
  21. WHAT!!! Ummm, Say it ain't so.
  22. Let me tell you a story about my soon to be ex wife. She moved in with a guy the minute she graduated from high school. They got engaged. Then he cheated on her and she moved out. Not more then a year later at 19 she married her first husband. They had a daughter real quick. That marriage lasted three years. I came next after dating for 9 months we were married. About three years ago she decided that living the gospel wasn't worth it. So now we are getting divorced. When I was in high school I just new I was gonna marry my girlfriend. Despite the fact that she wasn't LDS. I was in "love." People change. Don't do something because hormones are involved. You may have learned many things in your 18 years but I am pretty sure that those older then you have gone through many things that you couldn't even fathom. Heck my wife is 31 now and still changing on a daily basis.
  23. To me this is negative. Susie was just sharing a quote about motherhood. You could have just passed over this thread. Well then so that you know I live about 10 minutes from my mother, in fact for the last 3 years I have lived very close to her. I am over at my mothers house almost daily because she watches my two boys. We spend a lot of time just talking. That is the one thing that she loves more then anything else. She and I can spend hours just talking about life and the pecularities of it. I typically don't buy my mom anything for Mother's Day because I spend so much time every other day being around her. She has truely been there for me when I needed her most. I am not trying to silence you. You have every right to speak your mind. I am merely pointing out that every post I have read from you is typically negative toward the Original Posters comments.Anyway I hope you have a great day and you are lucky to be a mom and a grandma.
  24. I like to read. Scriptures, church books, conference talks, Ensign. Next to that would be probably singing. I am in my ward choir, just don't ask me to do a solo.
