Yep. My Missionary thread is so long and I'm the only one who ever reads it. I only update it for my own use.

To be sealed? I went a week or so ago for my endowments. She has to wait at least a year.

My wife was baptized a few weeks ago. Due to an expected storm the following day and the closure of church, she was confirmed immediately following her baptism.

My children haven't chosen whether they identify as hearing or not.

Best of luck to him. Sorry he has chosen this path.

I'm "quirky" too. Put aside the bullying and bad behavior. Do you believe the Church is the restored Church of Jesus Christ? If so, the things that drove you away are less important (I'm not saying they don't matter). If the answer is no, do you desire to believe the Church is the restored Church of Jesus Christ? If so, then you have to learn to get past the bad feelings and focus on developing that testimony. If the answer is no, then why bother at all? Sure, you could fake it and hope that you will someday desire to, but that isn't fair to him. He's made it clear what is important to him. Now, if you DO believe the Church is the restored Church of Jesus Christ, then the faults and behaviors of others, while painful, matter less. You have a voice, use it. Follow the Prophet. If others aren't, and are directing that negative behavior at you, explain lovingly to them why you're distancing yourself from them. Continue to attend Church for your relationship with CHRIST, not Mr. Gossip. Serve others and carry out your calling for your blessings from Heavenly Father. Christ commands us to do many things. He doesn't say it's OK not to do them because your feelings get hurt. Rise above and be stronger for it. After all, that's why we're here.

Interesting. I wonder what will turn up in my family history. On a side note, I answered your PM as best as I could. -

I don't know how that's possible, in my humble opinion. -
Me too, but we never really talk about that. Is it because it isn't politically hot? I'm wondering if the struggle to follow the Law of Chastity is equal between both parties and what the success/failure rate is for each.
-
I wasn't talking about being unfaithful as much as I was the brothers and sisters who never marry, are widowed, or divorce. That is more comparable.
-
Thank you. I really agree. I wonder what percentage of people who try to live the Law of Chastity are successful? I wonder if the percentage differs between same-sex attraction and opposite-sex attraction?

Sure. We pick and choose our levels of comfort. Not everything on this forum feeds the soul, either. -
Then what is the appropriate response?

Because last night was my first time going beyond the bapistry, I was bombarded with people asking when/if I was going back. It raised a lot of questions with me, most of which I don't feel comfortable asking here, even though they're probably allowed. I'm curious how often people go. If there is a longer answer not offered in the poll and you feel comfortable sharing it, I'd love to read it either here or through PM or Facebook.

So? That doesn't negate my point. it does, however, seem to conclude that people and their relationships are nuanced and you believe blanket your statement may not be as cut and dry as you made it out to be originally? -

None. But many were, or supported, slave owners. Unless your position is it's worse to be in a racist organization and not practice racism than it is to actually practice racism. -
