I’ve been semi active in conservative circles for decades now and I’ve never heard anything close to that. Unless you have friends in the KKK or some other extreme far right group, this hard to believe.

How much bass is too much? (And other...stuff)

(For the record, since the only things that truly matter are baseball and music, I can’t stand the Grateful Dead) -

It’s the Grateful Dead you conformist! -
That might be the description of Trump that I’ve ever heard

That was uncalled for. We know nothing about his politics. Wait until he tells us his view on economics before you assume he’s a socialist. For all you know he could be a devotee of Margaret Thatcher.

Old school thread. LP and I still talk about once a week. She’s doing fantastic. 🙂

That has more to do with laziness than diet. I love pizza, nachos, Cheez It’s, Doritos and soda. But, because I move so much I don’t have a gut.

Catholic background here. Like you I also had to adjust to not having rote prayers. You aren’t alone bro.

https://people.com/david-johansen-dead-new-york-dolls-singer-dies-at-75-11679388 We knew this one was coming too. The lead singer of one of my the most influential bands of all time has passed away from stage 4 cancer. I’ve posted this song 10,000 times before here, but one more time.

Hypothetical male vs. female confrontation questions
LDSGator replied to Vort's topic in General Discussion
The reason so many martial arts geeks are so passionate about debunking “chi”, “pressure points”, and “no touch knockouts” is because it can get the believers really hurt. If you try any of this nonsense in a real self defense situation, you could get yourself seriously injured. It also dismisses the hard work that some of us have put in our craft. Some of us have been working at our art form for over a decade and to think you can walk into our world and pretend you can beat us with pressure point silliness is insulting. -

https://martialarts.stackexchange.com/questions/9280/is-pressure-point-striking-a-useful-skill-to-know-in-a-street-fight “In summary, the pressure point knock-out stuff is either over-hyped or outright nonsense.” -

No, they don’t. Unless your opponent is asleep, incapacitated, or you sucker them with a grab and you know exactly what you doing with 40 years of experience . And even then adrenaline can kick in, rendering your “pressure points technique” largely useless. -

@mikbone-still watching the game? It’s gotten very close. Well, we fought back but it didn’t go our way. Life continues.

I’m watching the baseball game (Gators-Stetson) so I don’t know. We blew them out by like 30 points so they probably want some payback

contemplating a long-distance relationship
LDSGator replied to Ironhold's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Sorry bro. It’s never easy. -
Well, okay, but comparing anything to Nazis-especially sports-makes it a little hard to take the argument seriously.
-
So what? Let people have passions. It hurts no one. 80% of fans are there to enjoy the game and behave themselves

Final thing-if the BYU coach was wise, he’d remind the team every day of what Arizona chanted. If they don’t like us then, they’ll absolutely despise us if we win the NCAA tournament.

About the heckling-a strong person either ignores, counters back, or uses it as motivation. I was booed at my high school gradation. Dead serious. My ex girlfriend brought her new boyfriend (her brother was in my class) to the graduation and when my name was called, he booed me. And instead of whining, I blew him a kiss. Shut him very quickly. Same with sports. Use it as motivation instead of whining, playing the victim and complaining. I’ve never been booed in TKD (playful teasing doesn’t count) but if I was I’d work harder. Who cares what they say if you win and succeed?

You could look at it that way. Or you could see that sports provide character, discipline, health and friendship. All qualities that make a person a much better person. Even putting all that aside, humans need enjoyment. Sports provide “good clean fun”. Sure, some fans take it too far, but don’t let those jerks ruin it for you.

College sports are not for the easily offended.

I think every sports team has. Refs are human.
