  1. Bro, I am beyond lost. You have so many “this may be, this might be, perhaps” that I’m not sure anyone can give you solid, insightful advice. That said, I really do wish you the best.
  2. Right, they are jackasses too. Being a fool is universal. Having said that, pre-Trump conservatives could generally laugh at themselves and most on the left could not do the same.
  3. My favorite joke about liberal bias in the MSM came from Bernie Goldberg, himself no liberal. “Conservatives take liberal bias in the media too far. Al Roker is not out to get you when he forecasts rain on the fourth of July.”
  4. Maybe. I can’t read his mind either, so when someone apologizes twice, I assume it’s because they are genuinely sorry. If it’s not, then he lacks the backbone to stand by what he said and his apology is fake. Which is disturbing. It’s always interesting when someone never apologizes, and it’s never a good sign. I admire him for apologizing.
  5. I don’t know what he said, nor did I say it was offensive. He’s the one who apologized twice for it, not me. So obviously he thought it was offensive and worthy of apologizing over. Or else he wouldn’t have apologized. Never in my life have I seen someone apologize for something they didn’t think was problematic. I was simply quoting what happened. Makes sense. I don’t think the church was very big in the south back then. Heck, it’s not that popular in 2024 in the south! Thanks.
  6. Thank you. I’d like to hear what our African-American brothers and sisters have to say about too, if anyone can find out what their response was. Oh, agree fully. I never said Brigham Young was a bad guy either.
  7. I remember a GC talk where someone said the words of a living prophet mean more then the words of a dead one-I think this is an example of that, isn’t it?
  8. I wasn’t even born yet in 1978, much less was I a member. How did the membership take it when the policy changed was announced?
  9. No matter how we try to spin it, it’s obvious the church has drastically changed from the prior stance. I vaguely remember last year* when Brad Wilcox got himself in hot water for saying something racially “questionable”. The church made him issue an apology several times! *my bad, it was 2022. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_R._Wilcox
  10. I think the church wrote an essay on this, if that helps: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-topics-essays/race-and-the-priesthood?lang=eng
  11. Workers at Forbes and New York Daily News walked out. Which is like when that girl everyone hates goes to a party, insults everyone there, then expects people to beg her to stay when she threatens to leave.
  12. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/01/27/is-the-journalism-death-spasm-finally-here-00138187 re: our mainstream media talk. This was in Politico today.
  13. @Vort, as a basketball fan, do you remember Bryant “Big Country” Reeves? Shaq said Reeves was hardest to guard because he (Reeves) was so awkward. I think it’s the same with the Diaz brothers.
  14. I think those guys are the hardest to defend against. Their style is just so weird that you’ve never seen it before.
  15. Oh, very welcome. I thought I knew about boxing but I don’t know beans compared to him.
  16. @misfit, no matter what you choose to do here, we all wish you the best!
  17. No, I haven’t seen it yet. I’m not a movie guy. I’m glad Foreman is getting the respect he deserves though!
  18. @Vort, @Ironhold One of the best boxing analysis videos out there.
  19. All that said, (and you are right) the rope a dope was a brilliant strategy. Foreman was maybe the strongest fighter in history. Ali took a massive beating and managed to still win!
  20. I better stop now because I could talk about boxing for hours.
  21. Worlds are colliding my friend. When it comes to politics we disagree totally. When it comes to sports-Hakeem being one of the best centers of all time, Foreman being vastly underrated, we agree 10,000%
