So, speaking of basketball. Tickets were going for 88$ in the nosebleed section for a recent game. Insane!

A prophet said that every member is a missionary, and there are a ton of ways to evangelize without being a pest or serving a formal mission. Maybe you could start a tik tok or something and spread the gospel there? I didn’t serve a mission either-so convert to convert I know what you mean. I never felt bad about it though

Oh anytime bro. We are praying for you.

Just travel the nation and you’ll see them. Go from the northeast to the deep south to the west.

Enjoy the ride bro. It’s a great experience!

Convert to convert-I can tell you that there is a ton of stuff that can be lost in translation when you join the church. Takes some time to adapt. You are almost guaranteed to commit a faux pas, mention a controversial book, or not get certain names right of famous LDS people. I met a relative of Bruce McKonkie and she seemed appalled and shocked that I didn’t know who he was. Looking back it was sort of funny.

I’ve heard it before, but I can count on one hand how many times I have heard it. I have no issue with it either. I like a lively, energetic and happy ward.

God can do amazing things my brother. You never know when you will use the gifts He gave you.

The only thing I’m worried about is if Russia gets large chunks of the Ukraine. I don’t want “Peace in our time” 2.0

I have a few liberal friends (one I met here!) that break from liberalism on this issue.
-
Most Trump voters I have talked to describe Trump like they do chemo for cancer. It gets the job done, but in an ugly and brutal fashion. They wish there was another alternative that worked, but there isn’t. Having said that, I’ve met a few hardcore Trump fans who either ignore or defend his personal life like he was their father.

Perfectly said.

The “good” news is that everyone but leftists sees through them. You lose the right to call yourself tolerant if you take glee in the cold blooded murder of someone.
-
That happens with sales taxes. And income taxes too. Any method of taxation has loopholes.
-
That’s all fine, and good on the church for not accepting tithing funds from those activities. No one should force them to do so. A sin tax is a great idea to pay for social services because it’s completely voluntary. Income taxes and other consumption taxes are not. If you don’t want to pay a tax on alcohol, you are free not to drink it.
-
I should add that a land tax is also fine too. But that’s about it. Land, consumption and flat. Income tax is abhorrent
-
If you are a tax/economics geek (not an insult, I’m one of them) and want to know my real thoughts on taxation, read Progress and Poverty by Henry George-and anything by Hayek and Ludwig von Mises. If you want to know what I am repulsed by (economically) read anything by Paul Krugman. I’m also repulsed by the band Kiss. @mirkwood finally converted me.
-
In my dream world, there would be a flat tax along with a national sales tax. I’m also a staunch believer in the “sin tax”. We should heavily tax porn, cigarettes, booze, gambling, weed, etc
-
Hope you get some rest my friend. And don’t worry about it. We’ve all had off days before
-
All of those are my economic dream.

Yup. Sometimes life teaches you better lessons than your parents can.
