Our society is sort of bipolar when it comes to science. When we agree with science, then we shout it from the rooftops. When science disagrees with us, we make up conspiracies or just ignore it. Science is a harsh mistress who doesn’t want you to spend the weekend with your family. Like the cool kids say, it doesn’t care about your feelings.

Very noble of you, but the horse already left the barn. The word is thrown around so much that some of us don’t even want to be around children at all because we don’t want the headache. Why volunteer for nursery at church if this is what you’ll deal with? Why umpire at little league? Who wants to be falsely accused of “grooming”? Even the accusation is devastating, so a lot of us just keep the door closed. The flip side is that the right can longer complain about the lack of volunteers at these events, or if people turn down Boy Scout/nursery callings, etc. They wanted this, they got it.

The only math guy I knew (more than casually) in college was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. He was one of those guys who was so smart he could have excelled in anything. He was pretty shy, but still very nice.

I’d give this one ten “loves” if I could. The war on video games is over. Video games won. Now, that minority that you described absolutely exists but in a vastly smaller number. Even with the genders. Men used to outnumber women in gaming but the gap has gotten much much smaller.

Well, since someone correctly said we can’t change the past, let’s try to treat her as a lost sheep.

We all give lip service to our sins, but love pointing out the sins of others. It’s more fun that way. What’s the point of being a Christian if we can’t get forgiveness for sins, even grave ones? Shouldn’t we all just give up?

To be fair, I can understand Europe sliding into atheism. If we had two devastating wars in under a century that killed our neighbors from California to Virginia, it would probably be hard for many of us to believe in a loving God. Off topic-Did you ever think how horrible it was for the WW I generation to prepare their children to fought in WW 2? Usually you fight a war with the hope your kids don't have to. Not so there. I feel bad for the Silent Generation. Everyone calls the WW2 the “greatest generation” but WW1 wasn’t a gentle walk in the park.
