  1. Oh, and I hate these quotes today like, "I'm an ally." So that means we're the enemy? These people are just about "love".
  2. I'm glad to hear it! I really don't like to talk politics on FB, but people feel like they can rub this in others faces and that us "bigots" can't say anything. I was debating between the Family Proclamation and our wedding pictures. I decided to be more subtle. Doubtful anyone will notice I'm making a statement with it. :)
  3. I'm listening to some clips right now and there's this argument that gay people are treated as second class citizens if their relationships aren't valued like marriage. So yes, this is about forcing everyone to validate their relationships and their behavior as normal. I will never call this marriage. I find it to be sacrilegious to label same sex relationships as marriage.
  4. I would positively explode if my husband were doing these things. There would be no compromise. We compromise on household duties, who has the remote control, etc. We don't compromise when it comes to immoral things in our home or having inappropriate conversations/photo sessions/visits from people who stop by in secret.
  5. I tried calling the police station for a non-emergency once and they told me to call 911. Our neighbors were having a loud, drunken party outside until 4am.
  6. So I'm seeing red squares on Facebook profiles in support of gay marriage. I'm not sure where the symbol came from, but I put up my own symbol: A picture of my husband and I in front of the temple. :)
  7. It would probably be reasonable if you burned the calendar, but that's just me.
  8. Call 911.
  9. Hi Strawberry! Yes, I remember you. Sorry to hear of your health problems.
  10. Ugh! No. I hate beards. They're food traps.
  11. Considering there are people who write "G-d" instead of God, I think it's extremely disrespectful to ask anyone to stomp on the name of our Lord, even if it's to make a point. They might just be letters on paper to some, but really, really offensive to others.
  12. I see what the professor was going for, but I still don't think it's appropriate.
  13. Would this professor stomp on his mother's head stone? It's just a symbol. Just a name.
  14. Congratulations, Backroads! I hope you and your baby are doing well.
  15. I will set them up while I wear pants! Next I will have parking lot attendant duty. YES!!!
  16. The most important issue is being overlooked anyway. I want the right to set up metal chairs for everything that requires metal chairs. It hurts my self-esteem when I see the men doing it.
  17. How are speakers and prayer givers chosen for Conference? Prayerfully? Do they draw names out of a hat? If they are prophets and they choose people based on inspiration (whether it's OK for women to pray in Conference or not), why can't we trust the decisions they have made? And should they now expect to split the prayers 50/50 between men and women out of fairness?
  18. I think the issue is that some women are assuming some things are a manmade policy rather than a policy the Lord has set (at least for the time being). Or maybe when they pray about who should speak or pray at Conference, their answer has never been a woman for the prayer for some reason? Who knows? If we sustain our leaders, why don't we trust that they can do what they have been called to do without others making a stink?
  19. Yes! This is the second time I have won a thread!
  20. You want Geraldo to pray in Conference?
  21. Will the woman being wearing pants when she prays? That is the question.
  22. This whole thing just rubs me the wrong way. I know women are loved by our church leaders and I believe they are capable of receiving inspiration just fine without us making a "That's not fair" kind of stink. It bugs.
  23. The article doesn't even site a source, so I don't trust it at this point. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this is meant to cause an uproar when a woman doesn't end up praying after all.
  24. I've seen women pray eleventy million times. A prayer is a prayer. I don't care who says it in conference as long as they don't make the closing as long as possible because those of us with small children have suffered enough.
  25. This will torture you your whole life if you don't confess to the bishop. Are you afraid your boyfriend will be mad at you? If so, why would you want to be with someone like that? Trust me, you will want your future husband to be a man who is concerned about doing the right thing rather than how he will appear to others. You should talk to you bishop and maybe give your boyfriend a heads up. I'm sure both of you are trying to rationalize why you can repent of this without confession. How can you go out and preach repentance to others when you aren't willing to do it yourselves?
