It was claimed that its a natural progression (as I have shown in my quotes) from you and the other poster Please show where I said it was okay to have affairs and lie about porn.Perhaps you should read only the words I actually post rather than your interpretation of what you think I am posting.

Don't beieve I called you crazy, I said your statement was crazy.I won't attack you personally like you just did to me. We'll just let the statements speak for themselves and let the readers judge. You think porn to child porn is a natural progression from looking at porn whereas I believe the jump to child porn only happens with a certain (sick) personality type and thhese are a very very small fraction of a percent of the population. Your average 20 or 30 year old guy does not get his kicks from child porn nor does looking at porn naturally and seemingly automatically lead one to jump to child porn or even to having an affair as you and the other poster are claiming. Lots of people have affairs without ever looking at porn and lots of people look at porn and never have an affair. This should be very obvious to most people. I am certainly NOT advocating porn, but to make a big deal out of it is silly in my opinion, especially when it leads to the point of people recommending a wife divorce her husband over it (as has been suggested on this very thread). Like I said; long before I became LDS I read Playboy (when my wife gave me a gift subscription) and never once did I view (or want to view) child porn nor did I ever have an affair (or want to have one). There is no natural progression -- except perhaps growing out of it as you age.

It was said just a few posts back. Here is the quote: And here is what YOU said about it <shaking head>> it take's a very certain type of person to do child porn, to say that looking at porn leads to child porn is...totally unbelievable. don't know where you're getting this crazy idea from. But then some people think that all gays are after children also. Time for some common sense and to dump the scare tactics.
-
Sorry, but you have no idea what you are talking about.Saying that viewing adult porn then leads to viewing child porn is simply incorrect Saying that viewing adult porn then leads to having an affair is simply incorrect
-
Did you then go on to view child porn and have affairs as the poster said that I was replying to?
-
Sorry, but that is completly insane. I don't know who in their right mind could possibly believe that.
-
Actually, no we don't perhaps you could tell us what other problems it leads to.Porn does not lead to men having affairs, that's a seperate charector flaw. Men who don't view porn have affairs too. Women who don't view porn have affairs also. I personally think we in the Church make way too big a deal about the "evils of porn" and actually end up causing some of those evils (wives throwing away an otherwise good marriage because everyone knows what an evil disgusting habit porn is). And least you think I am addicted myself I am not, though years ago (about 30 years ago when I was in my 20's and not yet LDS), long before I was LDS, I had a subscription to Playboy <<gasp!>> given to me by my wife as a birthday present. I never had an affair, never neglected my wife, never did any of the stuff y'all have been talking about. I don't view porn anymore, mainly because in my late 50's it just doesn't interest me anymore, I have better things to do with my time. NOT because I think its a great evil. I'm sure 99% of you will disagree with me, but I'm giving you my personal experience with it.

Whats worthless the O.P. asked - just about everything TSA does. Unless its a dire emergency I refuse to fly anymore. Not because I think its dangerous, its because TSA is violating my 4th ammendment rights. Do they really think a pudgy over 50 white male on his way to Vegas is a terrorist?

More than a few men grab the tissues also.

The new CHI doesn't specifically say they should return to their seats so I guess the Bishop has interpreted that to mean they stay where they are. Never heard it interpretated that way before but I guess I understand how it could be. That's not how we interpret it. Notice there is nothing about the Bishopric having to dismiss them -- and we don't in our ward, when they are finished they just go back and sit with their families on their own -- some more reverantly than others.

Just remember you see these women at their best and for only 3 hours a week in most cases. My wife has worked all her adult life and there are many that do. Some don't - more power to them, I think its great to not have to work, but thats just not the case for most families and if it is, its usually just when the kids are young.

Yes, every hardware store had one. I remember as a child going with my Dad to the neighborhood hardware store (something else thats gone) to test the TV and Radio Tubes, in the base they had new tubes and if your tube was bad you opened it up and grabbed a new one with the same numbers.

Actually we really are the only one that has most young men serve a 2 year mission. Other Churches MAY have people go for a week or 2. A Church or group of Churches may sponser a missionary or 2 but I know of no religion like ours.
-
For most non-LDS religions, Church is something you do for an hour and a half on Sunday and then put it back on the shelf(so to speak) until the following Sunday. The idea of someone serving the Lord for 2 years would be terrifying to most people. Its a great opportunity for you to do some missionary work, you should pray for what to say when people have reactions such as this.

Actually in most Temples you only move to the Celestial Room. I believe there are only 3 Temples left that you have movement.

Ghosts in the home: prison or paradise?
mnn727 replied to tysonthehunter's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I don't believe in paranormal activity. I believe some people have over active imaginations, and I believe in TV drama and special effects. I also believe in the various Prophets warning people to stay away from things like that: in the past it was Ouiji boards, ghost knocking, etc -
It really is up to the individual Gospel Principles teacher. Been that teacher twice now in different wards and I always remembered how I felt when I was a new member and added things like that and had an open question time too.

As big as it is it could fall on someone and hurt them.

Tell him your very sorry. -
Heres another site that would be a good resource - its non-Mormon though there are a number of Mormons that post there, its more of a homesteading site. and they have a couple of sections that would help you , primarily the 'Preserving the Harvest' section Homesteading Today - getting back-to-the-land practicing sustainable, agricultural, ecologically sound, energy efficient, self-sufficient lifestyles
