Something I've wondered also, but remember, Genesis was not written in English.

In ten years I'll look back and laugh. (Or not.)

At one point in my life I lost a lot of weight (had lap band surgery) and was continuing to loose so I could not afford to keep up on purchasing new smaller clothes every month or so. My clothes were often a size or 2 too big for me, I always wore a belt to keep my pants on, however I must have stood up too quickly at work once and my pants didn't stand up with me. I quickly pulled them up and looked around - I don't think anyone saw what happened - no one said anything at least. I went out that night and got some new pants in the correct size. -
Here is a question to ponder regarding families
mnn727 replied to LDSJewess's topic in General Discussion
Families CAN be together forever, thats doesn't mean they WILL be. Doesn't sound like the foster family was Celestial material. -
100% correct. We are sexualizing young girls to the point that people who should know better don't even protest it.If your daughter was a part of it I would have a talk with the owner of the studio, if it was a; sister, neice, friends kid, etc, I'd have a talk with the parent. Children are not little adults. they should be allowed to be children. ------ edited to add I see it was your daughters best friend who is also the daughter of yout Home Teacher -- it would make for an interesting home teaching visit next month if it were me as I would bring it up.

There is a difference between 'salvation' and 'exaltation'. Most people including Mormons say 'saved' when they mean 'exhaulted', its kind of a pet peeve of mine.

Can a bishop as a lawyer represent a sexual harassment offender?
mnn727 replied to bcoyer's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Why not? Everyone deserves representation and a fair trial. It doesn't necessarily mean the lawer is trying to get his client off. Lawyers can also see that justice is done (ie that the punishment fits the crime, that they are convicted only of the crimes they actually committed) -
Won't we all be suprised if Saturday really is it afterall?

Living in Texas the mesh garments have been a God-send (literally perhaps) There's no way I could wear cotton in July or Aug here.

"Your Worship" would be a bit much. "Yo Dude" probably wouldn't be enough.

Dinosaurs, The Creative Periods and Perfection
mnn727 replied to rubondfan2's topic in General Discussion
Here is something to think about (and it's speculation on my part), Its possible the Garden of Eden was not on Earth and Adam and Ever when kicked out were sent to this Earth. Spculation but would explain a lot. (and I'm sure I'll be having people jump all over me for saying it) I think a lot of people (including early G.A.'s) have tried to explain and reconcile everything even when they went a bit too far with their pronouncements. Not everything has to be explained in the here and now and I'd bet that a lot of what we believe will turn out to be not so. -

Sorry, you are incorrect, the manuals attempt to explain doctrine but they in themselves are NOT doctrinal.I'm know you believe they are, possibly because someone told you that in a class, but it is incorrect. -
If I woke up in 2100 I'd be pretty amazed at 144 years old.

Keep your profession and your friendship seperate. Why in the world would Sarah offer to cater and event for free?? -- sorry, but Sarah certainly was not using her head -- and that's the nicest way of putting what I am thinking.

Its way too early in the thread to get discouraged -- Weekends are a bad time I have found to get lots of people reading/posting. I just gave you my 2 cents, and Vort hasn't even been born yet (not sure exactly how that works), so don't get discouraged yet.

So you were born in 2063, wow!

I personally dislike the 'signs of the times'. Who knows when your personal time is up? It doesn't make a bit of difference if someone knew with 100% certainty when Christ would return, because they or I could get hit by a bus this afternoon. Which is why I personally think its a massive waste of time to study them. Read your scriptures, pray, hold FHE, do your home/visit teaching, help others..all that will get you much further along your spiritual path back to the C.K. than studying about the signs of the times. Sorry, thats my 2 cents. Your mileage may vary.

Actually we don't, the timeline that you are talking about starts after they were kicked out of the garden.

You'll need to see your Bishop first for a recommend for a living ordinance, (not sure if you also need the Stake Presidents signature for just a sealing of a previous civil marriage -- you do need that where you are first being married). once you have that you will call the Temple and make the appointment, they will let you know what all you need.

Different tree, wasn't clear to me either unttil I went though the Manti Temple His plan was to force everyone backto heaven through denial of agency There are differing views on the Trinity throughout the Christian world, some people believe as we do, others don't. If you ask 3 Christians from 3 different denominations you'll get at least 4 differnt definations of the Trinity.

The 'days' of creation were periods of time -- how long? no one knows and the Church does not take a stand on a time frame other than to state they were 'creative periods', but it certainly allows time for dino's rise and fall.

If you see that come up you X out of it - don't do anything else, just X out of it and you'll be fine, the second you click on anything else - you're hosed. It goes by a number of names, latest I've seen is "Anti-Virus 2011" with a somewhat official looking (almost) Microsoft logo. Malwarebytes alone will remove it -- assuming it allows you to download malwarebytes and update it. I do tech support for a living and have seen this more times than I care to remember, luckily when you're on a network like I am at work I can run malwarebytes from one computer to clean another - just takes longer.

There's nothing wrong with IE8 that editing the registry can't fix

Not what the evidence shows, perhaps you would like to withdraw your earlier statement:
