No Scout Leadership Post In NC For Mormon Parents - CBS News

Our ward has the annual Trunk-or-Treat that we always take the kids to. We never take our kids door-to-door either. Only family members or friends houses.

I was wondering what everyone else does when Halloween falls on a Sunday, like this year. Of course, we aren't taking our kids out to trick or treat, but what about giving candy to the kids that come to your door? My wife says that it's breaking the sabbath giving out candy on a Sunday, but I said that our kids get candy every Sunday in primary, so what's the big deal. What do you all think?

What? My wife's grandpa was a patriarch and he recorded his blessings and had his wife type them up so the recipient could get a copy. How do others get a copy of their blessing if it wasn't recorded?

I wish our ward would train members on how to correctly bear their testimony on fast Sunday. Too often we hear mini talks given as a testimony. Meanwhile, there are 15 others waiting for their turn to bear their testimony. I also love it when the last person to bear their testimony says "I know we're short on time, but . . ", then they go on with their 10 minute "testimony".

One of the missionaries that taught me was allergic to fresh fruit and vegetables. I thought that was kind of weird, and sad.

I personally use Windows 7. We don't have any Linux systems at work so I don't have any need to use it daily. I just like to experiment with different distros in VMs.

Ubuntu is probably the easiest for a newbie. Mint Linux is also pretty good. What I like about Mint is that most of the usual plug-ins are pre-installed (Java, Flash,etc.) I used to really like Mandriva because it came with so many programs pre-installed, unlike Ubuntu which is pretty bare bones out of the box. For servers, Ubuntu Server is really easy to set up, but you need to know some command line.

Actually, it's one year after your confirmation, which may or may not be the same day as your baptism.

I had the same problem with my Harry Potter Audiobooks. Just renamed the single digit ones as 01, 02, 03, etc. within iTunes, not the actual file name.

We just got word that a young woman in our old ward just came down with H1N1 while in the MTC. Pam, you may know the Kelly's from CV 1st Ward. I guess a few other missionaries got it also and they are quarantining them.

I took, and passed, the CCNA 4 years ago and my head hurt afterwards also. I swear I was dreaming about subnets the whole week before I took the tests. Since it's been 4 years, mine is now expired. Not sure if I want to re-certify or not. I hear it's changed some since I took it.
