i've also struggled with the sizing chart but they aren't the only company that seems to be confused as to how to label sizing, i run into it every time i buy clothes anywhere. lol as far as garments go i find it also varies by style, the size i wear in one fabric may not be the size if i switch styles or fabrics. oh well.

there are also worse ways we could show our committment to god, all in all garments aren't bad. if it was perfect how would it be showing our commitment?

With all due respect, the sizing chart bears little or no relation to the size you actually need. Its oure trial and error. I have to buy one item at a time, try it on before ordering more if it fits. If not, I've wasted money, as you can't return it once you've tried it on. I find the whole thing stressful and difficult. I've had a really hard time with garments. I can't help but feel there's a better way to show our commitment to God.

You are absolutely correct.

As Gwen pointed out though, we can find difficulty in finding the correct size from any catalog, store, or mall when it comes to purchasing clothes and/or shoes. Sometimes sizes vary from fabric to fabric, or from name brand to name brand.

That is why I also made sure to mention that the Beehive workers truly are helpful (at least in my experience), as they have been able to help me tremendously in the past.

Also, I have found that with any item of clothing that I am purchasing, that it is better to go a size larger with a new brand name or material than to go dead-on your with your normal size.

Most of us have experienced shrinkage in clothing...whether it is because the fabric shrunk as a result of washing/drying or because we gained a few Christmas pounds!!!! LOL LOL

Life is about trial and error, and finding what is right...shopping is no different!!!! ^_^

One last thought ~ Our commitment to Heavenly Father and His commandments are not supposed to be easy. It was not easy for the Savior to suffer for the sins of every human, but he did so willingly. I can think of nothing that God asks of me that is too much for me to bear, as He always blesses me tenfold in the end for having obeyed.

With much love and sincerity...

The sizing chart is no more a mystery or difficult to cypher than one from Penny's or Fred Myer or Blaines On-line store.

If you are a C cup or larger then order the Full size style.

It really can't be any simpler than that really.

I am a 46DD. Thus I get a 42. If I buy a slip from BeeHive then I get an XL I tried a 2XL and it was too large for me. :P

On the bottoms I also get a 42. They are just a wee bit loose, but they are much more comfortable for me.

Another thing if you are smaller than a 3XS or larger than a 5X, you can call a number given on LDS.org, give them your measurements and have them made to fit.

My oldest sister's legs were bigger around then normal people (she was bigger than normal people too), so she had her bottom garments made to order. The bonus to this is it doesn't cost any extra for the custom sizes!

I heard there are also specialty garments like gowns for people who are bedridden for a long time. I think it would be interesting to take a tour where they make them.

Yes, you can purchase garments for bedriiden people.

Also, I haven't had any problems with sizing.

I tell the Sister at the distribution center what size dress I wear, and she hands me the correct sized garment.

Simple as pie!

Once you have your Temple Recommend, you can get onto the LDS website and see the sizing charts for yourself. Or you can simply go to a distribution center and see the sizing charts.

They used to let you try them on, but they don't anymore, at least not in Portland.

BUT, you can buy what you think will fit and if it doesn't you can exchange the unopened packages, so only open one package.

Is that too much information, Mods?

Nothing you said Deborah was inappropriate.

Years ago, it used to be that you could try on unmarked garments in the dressing room, and not have to purchase them. Unmarked garments are no longer available for trying on, so if you have to try garments on, you have to purchase the ones you try.

On a slightly amusing side note: although no longer available for purchase in most distribution centers, you can still purchase one-piece garments. When my dad was endowed, that was what was available to him, and now 32+ years later, he still can't get used to two-piece garments, so he special-orders them. The amusing part to me is that he just can't wear a tee-shirt and boxer briefs style...he has to go with the rear-end flap style.

Personally I LOVE the one piece garments!

To me, they're much more comfortable... no hems rolling up around my waist, no bunching.

That's the only ones I buy! :D

Garments are only available at distribution centers, not regular clothing stores. They are indeed available in green for military members, but to get those the person must show active duty ID.

I have heard, although I am not positive about this, that there are some garments available which are general in nature so that people who would like to have extra modest under garments can buy them without needing to be endowed. They have no significance to the temple and our covenants taken there however. As I said, I am not sure if this is true but it seems I heard that at one of the distribution centers a long time ago.

I've also wondered, are the garments blessed before they are sold. Does anyone know?

I’ve never heard of un-marked garments, there might be LDS modest clothing stores that sell something similar to what you’re saying. Why should only Temple-endowed members be modest? Why can’t new members or members that can’t go to the temple be modest as well?

How are garments made? Well, they have these cool things called sewing machines and then they get fabric and thread.....

J/k. No really, they do have local places that make them in a variety of fabrics and sizes and only members of the church... .endowed members are involved in making them. And No, they are not to be homemade.

The military members do ship t-sheets both green and desert brown to Salt Lake to have them resewed. Home made? We even have some made with reversible xxxxxxx. Nice to PT now and still wear garments. Even the latest neopreme is part of military issue now.

Huh? They are available online through lds.org. For men as well as women. Always have been. Because there is no shipping charges (at least there isn't in the US) it is cheaper for me to order online, then to spend the gas for a 100 mile round trip to get our garments from BeeHive Clothing.
