Traveler Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I could just leave without saying good-by. Personally I do not believe a good-by will make much difference. I am sorry, I just do not have time to answer questions and go back through personal notes for references - especially for those that do not care what the facts are. Before I go I did want to say 2 things. First - a sincere apology for those that found anger in any of my posts - I always attempted to avoid such things. Second - a much thanks for those that responded to my various posts. I have saved many responses and may someday may compile a book titled "Ten basic connections between ancient opponents of Jesus and their current counter-part’s opposition to the Latter Day Restoration". Should anyone wish to contact me personally you may do so by e-mail to <[email protected]> I will respond to any e-mail I find of reasonable nature. I am a traveler far from home - my quest is to return to my home and offer aid to any traveler in search for their way home. The Traveler Quote
Lindy Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I am speechless (which is a rarity), and have a sadness in my heart thinking of you leaving. I have gained so much strength and wisdom from you over the last year and a half, whether I have replied or not, I have learned from you and your posts. I hope you find the info you need for your book and complete the quest you are on to find your way home. Love and respect to you from me, Lindy Quote
Guest bat Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I think he means "farewell". Maybe it's a pun on the FAIR board, I dunno. Quote
Snow Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 What's with the goodbyes. I you don't feel like posting, then don't and then post again later when you feel like it (although I said my goodbyes once or twice too). Anyway, good luck Traveler, I always enjoyed your posts and your curly blonde hair. Quote

Anyway, good luck Traveler, I always enjoyed your posts and your curly blonde hair. I find it strange that posters would offer an official good-bye. It's not like you're resigning from a job. Sometimes I wonder if it's a martyr ploy - a farewell attempt at getting the right kind of attention. It baffles me. Why say good-bye when you can just leave for a bit and come back when you feel like it. Keep the door open just in case you change your mind.M. Quote

Blessed Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Maureen, Having left a board myself recently, I will say that sometimes a person needs to close the door in order to move on. Not all environments are healthy ones. My .02 cents anyways... Blessed Quote
Ray Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Thanks for the good thoughts you’ve given me, Traveler. With eternity in our future, I hope we’ll someday be able to sit around and chat a while. :) Quote

Traveler Posted August 18, 2004 Author Report Posted August 18, 2004 I am sorry that I did not make my intension more clear. I am not leaving with hard feelings or disappointment. I did not intend to make a show of it but I did want the forum to know I have made other commitments that will now will use up my spare time. I have enjoyed posting on the forum and have not sought for or encouraged the service for which I have been asked. I have joked that the one thing President Hinkley and I have in common is that we both have gone as far in the Church service as we can. But like so many things I was wrong. I had thought my travel schedule (that sometimes takes me out of the country for over a month at a time) protected me from certain kinds of service. To clear up a couple of things. I once had blond curley hair to go with my blue eyes but I have not had hair on my head to show since my mid 20's. However, my last checkup at the doctor he told me that I am in excellent health and the perfect weight for my height. I guess this is good because I have spent my life underweight. Perhaps I will post from time to time but I cannot followup or respond with any certainty. I feel you all deserve better than that so with a thank you, I wish you all good things. If I had left something undone it is the love and kindness I should have been more willing to give. Till we meet The Traveler Quote
Guest bat Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 Hey, you can't say that you are leaving and then come back to clarify why you left. It's against the rules. Quote

It was not very active, but to call it unhealthy is going a bit far............. Quote

Setheus Posted August 28, 2004 Report Posted August 28, 2004 "SOMEONE" is just mad because his childrens' book "Push-ups make me cry" didn't make the best seller list. Quote
