Hello,

I am a LT (Junior Officer) in the United States Army. I deployed to Iraq a little over a month ago and left behind a 3 year old son and 34 week pregnant wife. The LDS Servicemens group here at my base has about 20 soldiers regularly attending. It is a good group of men.

I joined this forum because I am interested in the viewpoints and opinions of other LDS persons around the world. I have a very strong testimony of the church. I am a return missionary and married in temple 7 years ago. I know that Jesus Christ died for my sins and that he makes it possible for all of us to repent and become better people. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I am so greatful for the priethood and the blessing it has been to me and my family.

I look forward to getting to know the people of this community and hopefully getting your opinions on various topics. Again, I'm glad to be here!:)

Welcome! Thank you for serving, too. There are many poignant chapters in the Book of Mormon about war that I study. It helps me to appreciate the importance of defending liberty and the freedom to worship our God and to further His work along. We need Helamans and Captain Moronis and stripling warriors. Best wishes.

Thank you for your service. What can we do as Church members to support Latter-day Saints deployed overseas?
