Moksha Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 I have wondered if there are armed angels or possibly unarmed border patrol angels stationed at the border crossings between Kingdoms in the hereafter. Do you think they would give less required shifts to those angels who served on guard duty in the Spirit Prison? Wonder how many PrisonChaplains they have on duty at any one time? Any speculations? :) Quote
AELK Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 We won't be mortal, so it won't be as it is here. We will each be placed where we belong, and it will be well. I do believe that those in higher kingdoms will be able to go to the other ones. But there is joy in each. And the kingdoms exist in another formation than there being borders. So we will be where we know and feel we belong. Spirit Prison isn't one of razor wire, like mortal prisons. It may be cliche to say this... but what it is, is beyond our mortal minds' comprehension. Just_A_Guy Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 I don't think they're necessarily physical places per se. I think they're types of bodies (see 1 Corinthians 15); and the celestialized earth will just happen to be the place where celestial beings live. IMO, a telestial being couldn't re-make him/herself into a celestial being and pertain the labors pertaining to celestial beings, anymore than my cat could make himself into a human and begin raising my kids and running my law practice. No one needs to enforce it--it just is. Quote
pam Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 I was wondering it the OP was even serious. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 My experience is that beneath Moksha's jokes there usually lies an intent that is very serious indeed. Quote
Traveler Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 Since we will all be in the "kingdom" of our dreams I doubt there will be a lot of exchanges. I agree with C. S. Lewis in his short book "The Great Divorce" about why people will not go to heaven. I really like the idea of people being in hell (not the Celestial Kingdom) because they feel more needed there. The TravelerI agree. After it is all decided and we have full knowledge of why we are placed in any particular Kingdom we will realize that is the Kingdom of our "dreams." We will be placed according to the desire of our hearts. As a partial description, if one doesn't like to work your behind off for God's purposes, in other words, with all your heart might mind and strength... well God wouldn't be so cruel as to put that person with everyone else that is of that mind. If one enjoys skating by, doing the bare minimum, there are like minded folks for that kingdom. And there is a kingdom for people that don't care one way or the other and just tried to 'take care of number 1' throughout their existence here. We all get what we want, yeah!! No need to want to switch later. Of course the higher Kingdoms will have some authority over the others and will likely visit them from time to time, is what I understand. Quote
jameslentz Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 i heard it said one time, and it always just felt right, that on the day of judgment, that we will be our own judges and to not be allowed entrance to the Celestial Kingdom won't be HF or JC banishing us from that place, but it will be WE who will take ourselves from there because we know that we don't belong in Their presence....the same I think could apply to the Kingdoms, that we won't try to go to one that we don't belong in, and not from someone keeping us out, but from us keeping ourselves out then there's that whole brightness of glory thing...i don't think a star can "act" like a moon or a moon like a sun... Perhaps that alone will keep the borders properly kept. :) Quote

One by one they stepped out of the small hiding space and covered their eyes against the extreme light. Jonathan smiled. Why couldn't Terrestrials understand. Why did they keep crossing over the border with their imaginative yet unsuccessful attempts to upgrade their eternal rank. The last of the exiting Terrestrials caught Jonathan's attention. He was smaller than most and carried a small photo in his hand. It was a picture of Mary Witt. She resided in the Celestial Kingdom, the Lime Jello ward if he wasn't mistaken. This must be one of her kin, hoping to sneak past the Celestial Border Patrol in order to see her. Jonathan's heart caught in his throat as he thought about how such a seperation must feel. Still, duty was duty and the rules were the rules. All of the Terrestrials would be taken back home and given instruction to not attempt this again. They boarded the patrol cruiser and headed off. No one noticed the small amount of darkness curled into the furtherest corner of the donught truck. A very small amout of total darkness. (Ok, I improvised some of it, but it is sort of fixed as you requested. Afterall, there has to be donughts in heaven.):) Edited November 21, 2009 by RanMan Quote
Maya Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 Aaa YES ... And first time in tousands of years the darkness had managed to enter the kingdom of light, now all he neded was time.... time to grow and then bit by bit flow out from its dark hiding place through the small holes formed by screws or unperfect placing of the metal walls... and there was time... a lot of time.... ... Traveler Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 Just as a side note – I have often wondered if the kingdoms of glory are all intermingled and that people divide themselves as we do in this life. As I have traveled I have encountered societies that like to wall themselves off from others. In Mexico for example there are homes and neighborhoods that shut off the outside with very high walls. The top of the walls are inlaid with broken glass and barbed wire. Contrary to popular opinion I envision the Celestial Kingdom as the most open and accessible kingdom and place in eternity. It is the other kingdoms I see as shutting themselves off. The lower the kingdom the more shut off it is. The Traveler Quote

She has been given to Brother Vort. As a result you must agree to have at least two of her sister-wives chaperoning during your allotted five minute visit. Further, if God shows up, you must get out of sight immediately or risk another lightening bolt. Capeche?------------------ [No Finnish line for you Moksha!!!] Quote
Maya Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 Thanks Moksha:D Well the Finnish Finished on Finnishline today... good night :) btw I think it is terrible to think that people from Terrestrial or Telestial would not be able to climb higher... but then it may be they do not have the capasity for it. I doubt anyone of them even will... like many closes their doors on LDS... they dont want to progress. But the higher can go see those in the lower Kingdoms anyway... Talking about hell.... It really will be an eternal hell when you see how little you should have done more, in order to have made it to a higher place.... and will never be allowed to.... Quote

I think it would be uncomfortable for those of the Terrestrial and Telestial glories to be in the same place as those of the Celestial Kingdom. I know you have indicated a seperation, but that is sort of like fooling yourself. All the while they would still know that they were there, nearby. And I think that would be uncomfortable for them. Also, there may be some physical element that we are not taking into account. Is there something to the glory of that realm that would cause actual physical distress to someone not resurrected to that glory?Just something to think about. :) Quote
