Guest Godless
Non-fiction. I like to learn, and school is expensive.
Guest
I don't know how to classify it. But I like all books that create a complete alternate universe. For example, the Star Wars Universe, the Mutant (X-men) Universe, etc. It's not specific to sci-fi because I loved the Camelot universe as well. pam
Hard to pinpoint just one genre. But I do enjoy biographies. I love books based on 16th century English time frames. Interesting life back then.
rameumptom
I just finished reading a college chemistry text book. For fun. I'm now starting a college Physics text book. For fun. Yes. I know. I'm a sick, twisted freak.
gabelpa
I like Sci-fi. Seperately, I like fantasy. I do dislike how they get grouped together, as Anne McCaffrey is a far cry from Greg Egan. I generalize, yes. Sometimes I like reading about a fantasy, impossible world with unexplained magics and creatures, other times I want to hit something hard and cerebral that challenges my intellect. Tarnished
I also like sci fi/fantasy and also dislike how they are lumped together. I also prefer fantasy over sci fi. It works out though I guess and keeps me from having to visit two sections for my favorite books. I will read pretty much anything other than horror. But I do prefer fantasy. Elgama
without a doubt my favourite author is Gervaise Phinn - I have to listen to him on audio book because the laughter makes my ribs hurt so much and the tears streaming down my eyes mean i can't see the words lol I put other as his books are loosely non fiction - He's a School Inspector from Yorkshire
Elphaba
You need a category called "Anything." Elphaba
candyprpl
I agree with Elphaba -- anything. I checked fiction but it just depends on my mood. I love anything with a good story-line that will keep going. It can have a slow start but it must pick up and keep me interested. That goes for non-fiction as well. I love Dan Brown's style of writing.
Blackmarch
What's your favorite book genre and why?Sci-fi/fantasy.... Got hooked with the Star Trek, Star Wars, The Hobbit (cartoon), Tron, Last Starfighter, and Dune movies when I was really young and it went down hill from there.Cold War/ Military fiction, and mystery, and nonfiction come in at a close second. It's scary how well I'm entertained by school type books on zoology, astronomy, and geology... Truegrits
My favorite, for entertainment purpose, is the mystery novel. I like the writing of James Patterson and John Sandford. And William Diehl. I also like westerns and I enjoy reading a Clive Cussler book. I like reading autobiographies, cook books, and the dictionary.
