prisonchaplain Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 (edited) So says the selectorquiz for religion. SelectSmart.com Selector Quizzes. Find your matching candidate, religion, philosophy, etc. Some here may argue that I'm more than half way there. Then again, maybe the Church is moving ever so cautiously towards me. prisonchaplain Posted July 5, 2010 Author Report Posted July 5, 2010 I could always move to Utah and get in on the ground floor of the latest MLM venture... Quote
Wingnut Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 I just took the "What is your Christian denomination?" quiz and found out that I most closely match Pentecostal, then Seventh Day Adventist (about the same amount as #1), then Mormonism (less than half as much as either of the other two). Hmmm...It's probably because I answered "either" on several questions instead of agree or disagree, because the questions were too black and white, and I believe somewhere in the gray area. Quote
Soulsearcher Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 lol i dropped quite a bit to 15% LDSI'm 100% UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST lol go figure Quote

But, for all their tolerance in the UU, one of my school buddies went to a service as a "go to another religion's worship" project, and when they asked him what he believed, they were pretty quick to let him know he probably wouldn't be too comfortable there. . . Mute Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 I just took it. EXPLANATION OF RESULTS: The results are scored on a curve. The highest possible score, 100%, represents the closest match to your responses; it does not mean that you share every view of that belief. Several, or a combination, of the top scoring matches may accurately reflect your beliefs system. 1. Secular Humanism (100%) Books, etc. Information link 2. Non-theist (94%) Books, etc. Information link 3. Theravada Buddhism (68%) Books, etc. Information link 4. Unitarian Universalism (67%) Books, etc. Information link 5. Dravin Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 (edited) LDS, Seventh Day, Pentecostal and Baptist in that order. Some of the questions I wasn't sure. For instance, is homosexuality a sin. Being homosexual isn't but acting on those desires is. I just went with what I thought they were asking but there were a few like that, where nuance could skew the answer one way or the other. Also, if I wasn't LDS I'd have no issue with moderate drinking, so I wonder if that might move Seventh Day down the list a bit.Edit:Belief-O-Matic gives me:1. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (100%)2. Orthodox Judaism (93%)3. Jehovah's Witness (90%)4. Baha'i Faith (85%)5. Islam (81%)6. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (76%)7. Sikhism (75%)8. Eastern Orthodox (71%)9. Roman Catholic (71%)10. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (68%) Edited July 6, 2010 by Dravin Quote

Raise your LDS score and prosper.Belief-O-Matic- Beliefnet.comBTW, I think there is a direct relationship between the LDS score and the Jehovah Witness score. Perhaps it is the penchant for door-to-door visits. Quote

Dravin Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 (edited) That's what I meant by "gray area." One ones like that, I just didn't answer.I'm a touch famous for nitpicking questions. I once thumbed through a book with someone about questions you should ask before marriage. I was rather harsh on their phrasing and unspoken assumptions that loaded the questions. prisonchaplain Posted July 6, 2010 Author Report Posted July 6, 2010 (edited) HermanA. I'm usually pretty good at gender discernment, but you fooled me...must be the husky tone you use in most of your posts. Two ways to interpret this. You're a genius for figuring out how to insert your own laugh button, or you have way too much time on your hands...in which case I'll buy some off you. (You take paypal, right???)
