sister_in_faith Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 It's the time of year for the supermarket to be packed full of shoppers who leave their carts in the middle of the isle so you can't get thru! So, what do YOU do when you encounter these shoppers? I usually wait patiently for them to notice they are in my way. My honey usually speaks up and asks them to move... Quote
pam Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 I don't mess around. I move their cart hoping they get the not so subtle hint. Quote
annewandering Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Lol well I am such a lousy driver I just generally run over them and then they apologize. Quote
annewandering Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 can we answer all of the above? Quote
sister_in_faith Posted November 13, 2011 Author Report Posted November 13, 2011 Anne, just try and focus on not getting banned. Don't mess with the poll. Quote
Mahonri Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I turn around and go a different way. I probably need the exercise! Quote
prisonchaplain Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Mahonri...same here, only there is no "probably" in my sentence. Quote
HEthePrimate Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 It depends. If they've left their cart unattended, I'll move it myself. If they're with their cart and I'm in a good mood, I'll just say "Excuse me, please," and they usually move it. If I'm in a bad mood, I might go down another aisle to get around them. Otherwise they might get an "Excuse me" and a dirty look! (But we try to avoid that!) Quote
Jennarator Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I move it. NIcly, but I do hope they notice. Quote
applepansy Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 It all depends on the circumstances and of course my pain levels. Quote
pam Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 It all depends on the circumstances and of course my pain levels. When her pain level is up..we all move out of her way. Quote
rameumptom Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I'm like Captain Nemo.... RAMMING SPEED!!!!! Quote

Guest Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 None of the above. I just think of all the people in the Philippines who are too poor to walk in the store let alone worry about having to wait 10 minutes behind somebody else's cart. Quote
RescueMom Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I say excuse me and hope they move. Sometimes the don't, then I just wait....and hope I get in their way in the next isle. Quote

Iggy Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 The stores in my area are all remodeling- WalMart is expanding into a Super Mega WalMart and they are all trying to keep up- so - the aisles are narrow. Only one cart can fit. Before I even go down an aisle I make sure that a) no one is there; b) if someone is there they are going the same way as I want to go; c) if they are coming towards me I go to a different aisle. Once I am in the aisle and someone starts towards me- I tell them to go around, I am not backing up. Once WalMart finishes the expansion (middle of 2012) I will be so very, very happy) That will force Fred Meyer to lower their food prices, and I can save even more money!! Quote
