applepansy
Lists like this are misleading. You can have the treats and still be ok. Just balance what you eat and remember to exercise. I'm terrible at exercising. I'm better at balancing treats with healthy things .... but during the holidays I still indulge. I don't feel guilty about it though. Eat a healthy snack of veggies before the party! :)
UrbanFool
There are two days out of the year where I don't even remotely bother with what I eat --Thanksgiving and Christmas. I just try not to eat so much that I'm sick. I can watch my diet the other 363 days out of the year.

Eat a healthy snack of veggies before the party! :)Well I think the point of the list is to just let you know what you are looking at nutritionally so you can make informed decisions ( planning over the course of the day/week to adjust for it, making lighter versions, or deciding to indulge less with less frequency). I do agree the tone such lists tend to have is a certain 'exceeding your RDA is an instant heart attack/10lb weight gain/death' vibe without going into the important variable of frequency. Guest
My doctor always has a tin of Danish butter cookies in his waiting room, so they can't be that bad, right? Plus I have Danish heritage, so I'm supposed to eat them.

ADoyle90815
One other thing about those Danish butter cookies is that you can use the tin to store stuff. I'm able to indulge in treats, as I balance them out with healthy food and exercise.

Bini
On Thanksgiving I ate nothing but fudge squares - the entire day! I'm surprised I didn't get sick from them too. On Christmas, you can bet I'll be devouring the yorkshire pudding like there's no tomorrow..
