Lists like this are misleading. You can have the treats and still be ok. Just balance what you eat and remember to exercise. I'm terrible at exercising. I'm better at balancing treats with healthy things .... but during the holidays I still indulge. I don't feel guilty about it though. :o

Eat a healthy snack of veggies before the party! :)

There are two days out of the year where I don't even remotely bother with what I eat --Thanksgiving and Christmas. I just try not to eat so much that I'm sick. I can watch my diet the other 363 days out of the year.

Well I think the point of the list is to just let you know what you are looking at nutritionally so you can make informed decisions ( planning over the course of the day/week to adjust for it, making lighter versions, or deciding to indulge less with less frequency). I do agree the tone such lists tend to have is a certain 'exceeding your RDA is an instant heart attack/10lb weight gain/death' vibe without going into the important variable of frequency.

There's a lot of things I could swallow that I probably shouldn't eat...

Yes but you didn't ask what you should eat, you asked what you can eat. :P

Good grief, let's just cancel Christmas and do push-ups instead.

That seriously made me laugh out loud.

The husband and I have a new thing where if we are playing video games together a death requires five push-ups...

I would hop on the treadmill, but I sold it...

Oh my gosh..the Danish butter cookies are my favorite!! I told all my coworkers that one year and ended up with about 8-9 tins of them. I was in heaven.

My doctor always has a tin of Danish butter cookies in his waiting room, so they can't be that bad, right? Plus I have Danish heritage, so I'm supposed to eat them.

After I ate all those cookies, I had a little Danish in me. Actually a lot of Danish in me.

Have a healthy holiday - 50 Holiday Foods You Shouldn't Eat - Health.com

Of course the list has to come out every year of what foods to avoid. But darn it all. This list has so many of my favorites on it.

So if you don't want the guilt and would rather enjoy the ignorance..read on. My holiday has been spoiled.

I am going to read it and then go and try every one. Except the alcoholic ones or the coffee ones , they should add candied bacon to the list

On Thanksgiving I ate nothing but fudge squares - the entire day! I'm surprised I didn't get sick from them too. On Christmas, you can bet I'll be devouring the yorkshire pudding like there's no tomorrow..
