Still_Small_Voice Posted December 5, 2011 Author Report Posted December 5, 2011 Abba has some really great songs. Those two women have voices that work in sweet harmony. Quote
Guest mormonmusic Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 I like ""If it wasn't for the nights" -- the hit that never was. Quote
UrbanFool Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 Oh man. Is there anything by ABBA that wasn't great? I have to vote for Waterloo I guess. Quote
UrbanFool Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 It's possible that these outfits are the precursor to KISS. Quote
mordorbund Posted December 5, 2011 Report Posted December 5, 2011 ABBA's on my bad list - right up there with Macaroni Grill. I walked into the restaurant and thought to myself, "Self, you should order the macaroni". So I picked up the menu, and of all the pastas listed, macaroni was not among them. "Mordorbund, this seems like a bait-and-switch," myself says to me. When the waiter came around I asked if they did have macaroni that wasn't on the menu ("maybe it's a secret menu special," I try to assure myself). The waiter said they did, it was usually on the kid's menu, but they could make one adult-sized for me. My distrustful self didn't say anything but just sat and stewed whiled waiting for the food. Shortly my plate arrived covered with penne pasta in a cheese sauce. PENNE PASTA!!! I was ready to escalate and Ramsey that place, but cooler minds prevailed. How many songs does ABBA have that follows the A B B A rhyming scheme? Quote
Jennarator Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 I like "take a chance on me" good ol' classic! Quote
pam Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Gimme gimme gimme Unfortunately when I click on the link, it says it hasn't been made available in my country. Quote
UrbanFool Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Try this one Pam! ABBA-Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! - YouTube Quote
UrbanFool Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Y'know, all of the members of ABBA were very successful musicians before they ever got together. I think that's why they weren't as "into it" as the rest of us. I think they're still all busy being successful musicians, but no ABBA Quote
UrbanFool Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 The milkman looks like .It sure does! (You're dating yourself :)) Quote
Vort Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 It sure does! (You're dating yourself :))I deny everything. I'm pretty sure I could lose my temple recommend for that. Quote
Guest Cneve Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) This a slow, sad and simple song, with no real refrain or chorus, and it´s quite long, but i think its beautiful and its still one of my fav´s: Also one of the last songs they ever released before they split up Edited December 7, 2011 by Cneve Quote
Windseeker Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 Always and forever my favorite Abba song will be Dancing Queen! Quote
volgadon Posted December 8, 2011 Report Posted December 8, 2011 Can't stand Abba, but I did see a documentary which had footage from their earliest years, and they played stuff like Mr. Tambourine Man. Quote
