beefche Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 ...the vileness of this group.Off to Colorado to they go. Quote
Backroads Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I hope what I am feeling could be termed as "righteous anger". Quote
Guest Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I'm unclear as to why Aurora became their target? Quote
beefche Posted July 23, 2012 Author Report Posted July 23, 2012 Because any mass murder in America means God hates the victims. Quote
annewandering Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 They arent interested in the event only in the fact that the media is there in force. If 9/11 happened today they would be ecstatic. All that media to use for their glory. Quote
beefche Posted July 23, 2012 Author Report Posted July 23, 2012 Did this group not exist for 9/11? Quote
Echo2002 Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 They really only do it for the media coverage, of course the media continues to feed into their game. If the media would stop paying attention to them they would probably go away. I'm surprised these people haven't been taken out yet, I'm not sure too many people would be sad about it. Not that I'm saying they should be harmed in any way, but it seems they stir up a lot of anger where ever they go. Quote
Dravin Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Webstboro Chapel isn't above protesting 9/11 memorials, but I don't know if they tried to take advantage of 9/11, media wise, at the time. It wouldn't have surprised me if prudence won out against an immediate picket sign parade at ground zero during clean-up efforts. Quote
ZionsRodeVos Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I'm surprised they would go to the memorial for those who were victims. Do they really think it helps to try to make it seem like the victims were hated by God? It would be nice if the media would ignore them to see if they would stop. Quote
annewandering Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I dont know when those people got their addiction for media attention. They have certainly raised my awareness that bigotry and hatred do exist out there. Quote
beefche Posted July 23, 2012 Author Report Posted July 23, 2012 SpringGirl, I'm surprised as well that no one has tried to take pot shots at them. I'm sure alot of people would like to, but perhaps the fear of jail is a deterrent. Quote
Dravin Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) I'm surprised they would go to the memorial for those who were victims. Do they really think it helps to try to make it seem like the victims were hated by God? It would be nice if the media would ignore them to see if they would stop.Well, taking them as completely honest, their position is they're sharing 'the truth' that people who die from such events as this are at the receiving end of divinely directed justice that is a consequence of America's moral turpitude. It's basically, "See this divine punishment! Wake up and repent America!" It makes a kind of sense in it's own horrifying way. Well...except that the delivery pretty much guarantees nobody will listen to their call to repentance, but then I'm not sure how much results matters to them as much as effort. skoshmom Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Hmmm...They are going around pretending to be a church when in fact they nothing more than a hate group twisting doctrine from the bible to justify their hatred. They will get their reward. Quote

They will get their reward.I wouldn't say they're pretending to be a Church. I really think you have to really believe in what you believe to do something as unpopular as what they're doing. Quote
Backroads Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Attempting to speak with love, I imagine they will be given a fair shot to learn the gospel just like anyone else. Quote
Vort Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Hmmm...They are going around pretending to be a church when in fact they nothing more than a hate group twisting doctrine from the bible to justify their hatred. They will get their reward.Depends on your definition of "church". They are a group of about 40 people, mostly members of the same family. They hardly constitute a large movement. Just a very tiny, very loud group of people exercising their First Amendment rights in as obnoxious a way as they can manage. If they were simply ignored, they would go away. But they are far too valuable to the news media as an attraction, and far, far, far too valuable to the leftist ideologues as a whipping boy and proxy from everyone who does not agree with thier (the Left's) agenda. Quote
skoshmom Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 anatess, I believe that they believe in what they're doing, so did the Nazi's. But they call themselves a church when they are nothing more than a hate group. They've spit their venom in people's faces in genuine times of bereavement and sorrow, and seem to want to protest at every single funeral, especially of our soldiers who fought valiantly for this country and they hide behind the term church or religion which gives them the excuse that their religious liberties are being violated if they aren't allowed to do so. They've taken the term church or religion, or whatever term they wish to use and have desecrated it into something I wouldn't think a church, especially christian is supposed to be, that is what I meant by pretend. Although I don't agree with them, I stand by our constitution which guarantees religious liberty - even to them. Quote
slamjet Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Want a little insight into their mindset? Read the articles Nate Phelps has written (Huffington Post Linky). Very interesting, and sad. Quote
applepansy Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 I will never ever understand people who claim to be Christian who deliberately set out to hurt others. Quote
skippy740 Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 So... if we want to give this group as little media attention as possible... why are we discussing it in social media? I thought about sharing it on facebook... but why bother giving them any more attention? Quote

Guest Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 LDS.net is hardly big enough to give WBC the kind of attention they seek... Quote
