What do you say?

Ok, I'd guess we have all said both of these at various times and for different reasons but my question for all is what is typically in you mind or what you would say verbally when you attempt something two times and at your third attempt do you say, "Third time's a charm" or "three strikes and your out"?

Depends if the third attempt is a success or not. If it is a success then it is "third time's the charm", if it fails then it is "three strikes and you're out".

I say to myself, "Self, you tried it once, then twice, now thrice. You'd better get it this time, because there's no such thing as frice."

As a bowler, I'm okay with three strikes--especially in a row. Now, if I could just getting a bowling score higher than my golf score!

I usually say third times a charm. If it fails..I then say...it lies.

Sounds to me knowbody tries more than three times. What if the third time fails and nobody tries four, becasue, well they are three tries and then they ruled it out? Could work the fourth, fifth or more...

Sad, but true...again, more on the golf course than the bowling alley. I think a double-par is called a turkey, right?

I don't have a broad context go to mental catch phrase that I'm cognizant of, it's probably some variation of, "Ugh, again."
