Guest MormonGator Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Whenever I see a Christian friend post a quote from a leader in our church, I do a cartwheel. A non member posted a quote President Uchtdorf said-it made my day. Anyone else see this from non member still Christian friends? Quote
Connie Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 My sister will occasionally post LDS quotes on facebook if she sees it and likes it. She joined the Catholic church several years ago. Though i can't say it makes my day in her case. She's a bit of a contradiction. She will post stuff about God and faith but then she'll turn around and post very un-Christian stuff, including soft porn and lots of profanity. She is of the opinion that God loves her so much that he will make no further requirement of her than to believe in him. Shrug. Vort and Backroads 2 Quote

Guest MormonGator Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 to the OP; still have yet to see someone who isn't LDS post an LDS quote (or at least anobviously lds quote lol) Oh it doesn't happen often, I have only seen it happen twice. It sure is great when it does though! Quote
Guest LiterateParakeet Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 I haven't seen that yet. :) I think it would make me smile. But I wouldn't think too much of it, because I'm prone to quote people from other churches (leaders, speakers, or writers) if I agree with what they say. For example, one of my favorite quotes is from Fr. Thomas Keating (he's Catholic). He said, "'Repent' means change the direction you are looking for happiness." I love that! Quote
prisonchaplain Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 I wonder if those non-LDS who post LDS quotes are doing so unwittingly. They like the particular thought, and may have no idea the position or faith of the one they are quoting. Backroads and jerome1232 2 Quote
