Blackmarch Posted October 15, 2015 Report Posted October 15, 2015 I find this to be a piece of music that generates strong feelings. I think its beautiful. By Tchaikovsky. You might need to be in the right frame of mind - peaceful and contemplative - to get the most enjoyment from it. Very nice. I think my favorite classical are the Peer Gynt suite (it has "The Hall of the mountain king") by Greig lonetree and Windseeker 2 Quote
cdowis Posted October 15, 2015 Author Report Posted October 15, 2015 First favorite is path. It uses clean and distored versions of the melody to represent fighting your demons.https://youtu.be/U_oaPY0Brrw When I heard this, I immediately thought of the Blue Man group. lonetree Posted October 17, 2015 Report Posted October 17, 2015 All about alternative country: Drive by Truckers, Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Steve Earle, Slobberbone, The Volebeats, The Jayhawks, and even Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Graham Parsons I did some listening to Steve Earle in the late 80s-Copperhead Road. I don't know if you'd call him alternative, but I still like Dwight. His 'Nothing' is excellent. Blackmarch 1 Quote

Guest Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) I don't know where my kids get their musical tastes. They are just off the wall with it... they're not into what all the other kids I know are into and they can get waaaaay far from what their parents are into. I can't explain this latest obsession they have. Presenting... tat-tada.... Those two dominate my music choices as well. I went to a punk show Saturday night and got a rude awakening yesterday morning to the fact that I'm not 20 anymore. Interestingly, my 2 year-old really fancies viking metal, especially the instrumental stuff. Quote
