Gaia Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Hello Everyone -- Since we've gotten into discussions on some pretty far-out (non)doctrine / ideas, i thought it might be a good idea to come back to some good, basic Gospel doctrine -- Would anyone like to start this discussion? In what ways is Jesus "the Father and the Son"? ~Gaia Quote

a-train Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 John 14:9 My mortal father gave me mortal life. Eternal life must come from an Eternal Father. Yea, Jesus 'is the very Eternal Father'. (Alma 11:38-39) -a-train Quote
pam Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Very original OP to several threads. And isn't starting a thread starting a discussion? Quote
Traveler Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 It is a matter of law and covenant that Jesus becomes our Father in the “Kingdom” of G-d and heaven. In another thread PC and I talked about the benefit of study and scholarship. This, I believe, is a good example of the lack of study and scholarship into the Ancient Near Eastern and Mediterranean area laws and covenants of Suzerain - Servant covenant and law within the kingdom. It is obvious by both the terms and the tone used by Jesus that he was a servant of a Suzerain and that he had come in the “name” of that Suzerain. The Traveler Quote
