Ray A Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Correction: He will not allow a prophet to lead us astray. Completely different. I think it was Wilford Woodruff who first gave this statement. It seems to be based on D&C 107:82 And inasmuch as a President of the High Priesthood shall transgress, he shall be had in remembrance before the common council of the church, who shall be assisted by twelve counselors of the High Priesthood; 83 And their decision upon his head shall be an end of controversy concerning him. 84 Thus, none shall be exempted from the justice and the laws of God, that all things may be done in order and in solemnity before him, according to truth and righteousness. My opinion is that the president can make a mistake, and it need not necessarily be corrected immediately. If the mistake is serious enough to warrant immediate removal from office, then provision is made for that in this revelation. Teaching doctrine that may later be shown to be incorrect, isn't necessarily covered by this revelation. Prophets have opinions, and those opinions may or may not be correct. Having an opinion isn't an excommunicable offence, even when it comes from a prophet. Quote
WANDERER Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Salvation is open to all I believe. That does leave the church open I guess...but God is quite capable of dealing with the 'opposing side'. Quote

lilered Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 a-train - Thanks for the comments I certaintly agree that Satan influenced Judas and he betrayed Jesus. In fact, he was described as indicated as a "Son of Perdition". My understanding is that this was because he denied the Son after the Father had revealed Jesus to him. As to whether or not he actually worshipped Satan. I wouldn't go that far. Of course, the point is mute anyway I guess as he is still a Son of Perdition Quote
Elphaba Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I just remembered. According to someone from LDS TALK, I am an atheist priestess whose mission is to destroy Christianity. She informed me I cannot stand to touch Holy Water or a cross from the Vatican. I think I will melt if I do. Wait. I will melt because I am Elphaba, Wicked Witch of the West. So, maybe I'll just get burnt if I touch the Water. Okay, I'm a little confused now, but I do know that water is NOT my friend. Someone really said this to me, so it must be true. Therefore, you guys better not tick me off! If I see Satan I'll tell him hello for you. Bah. Elphaba Quote
tiancum Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Elph, I have been told I am a devil, and that I have demons flanking me.... Helping me do horrible things.... So you can say hello to me. Ill introduce myself officially..... Hello. my name is Louis Cipher. just call me Lou. Quote
Hemidakota Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I need to sit and blog a story concerning the AC influence over a few saints. Quote
KeithBerry Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 In most situations, and definitely at higher organizational levels, people are called to their positions by The Lord through revelation. Men of God who are well trained in descerning the spiritual promptings of the Holy Ghost would never call anyone with evil intent to a position of authority within the church. I think you're thinking carnally and not appreciating the spiritual guidance the priesthood offers. This is the Lord's church and not an church run by man. Quote
tiancum Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I need to sit and blog a story concerning the AC influence over a few saints.I actually know am lot more than I am saying according to my first post in this thread...I wanna hear hemi.by ac you mean anti-Christ correct?? Quote
Hemidakota Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Anyone can fall. Talk to David. If there were someone deliberately working themselves up into church leadership, I think God would know about it and in His almighty wisdom, would take care of it. God has assured us that He will never allow a leader of the church to lead us a stray.Correct. Do you what happened to David? Quote

Hemidakota Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 I suppose anything is possible. It's possible that the US government has alien bodies at Area 51, How about 'organic robotics?' Quote
Moksha Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 There was once a charge in the Lehi, Utah that many of the citizens were abusing the local children as well as performing satanic rituals. These allegations were pure hokum however, brought on by the suggestions implanted by the therapists. From a paper to The Mormon History Association (MHA) - Park City, Utah, May 21, 1994. Mormons and Rumors of Ritual Abuse (Introvigne) Quote
lilered Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 I am not sure now what the Question is? We have jumped from Satan infiltrating the Church leadership to "Organic Robots". I probably won't be able to sleep tonight for fear that Martians will attack the Conference Center during Conferance. Whoa! Is Me! Seriously though, we are promised that evil cannot begat good, therefore by their deeds, we will know them. Quote
MorningStar Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Is It Possible That Satanists Can Infiltrate The Church Without Your Knowlage. Is It Possible That They May End up In The 70 Or Even in The Apastolic. Because Judas Was An Appostle. No. If there were a Satanist who wanted to infiltrate the church and become a General Authority, it wouldn't happen because this isn't something you can apply for. And you have to consider the very small percentage of Latter-day Saints who become GA's. Quote
MorningStar Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Oh, and to share a story, my friend's husband joined the church thinking he would climb the ranks and change things - let pretty much everyone into the temple. Within a year after his baptism, he started acting completely insane and decided to become a woman without telling his wife. I watched him go from this normal, loving, supportive husband to a violent, confused, lactating, cheating, identity stealing, prostitute soliciting man. (He still hasn't completed his transformation. When he was arrested for abusing his wife, the cops didn't know which cell to put him in.) Needless to say, he did not succeed in his goal to become a bishop and change the rules. :) Quote
Hemidakota Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Correct. Still, they have 'free agency to choose.' Quote

tiancum Posted March 29, 2008 Report Posted March 29, 2008 What's a "Satanist"?And no - they could never infiltrate the church without your knowledge - you have the spirit. You are suggesting that everyone uses the gift of discernment to it's full potential. We don't. We simply don't use our spiritual gifts as much as we should as a church...and according to the scriptures, it is because of unbelief. AND, BTW, from first hand experience, the only way to "expose" satanists, is to wait for them to get "caught". if your discernment were to tell you, "this guy is a satanist" then NOTHING can be done officially...in the church. Personally, i don't think the spirit would tell a person specifics like that unless it was a persons mission to fight that specifically. A more likely thing the spirit would say is, "BE CAREFUL WITH THIS LADY/MAN..." Quote

Then it's not your mission to fight them, because obviously he's not telling you when they're around.A definition would help greatly here. Quote

tiancum Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 A definition would help greatly here. not a problem, I tried to in my earlier post in this thread, ill cut, paste and explain more. From me earlier...further explanation in boldA few years ago there was a letter from the first presidency warning people church members, they released this because as they put it, "occasionally they hear reports" of it.... NOT to dabble in these practices(satan worship). I have a copyAnd yes, there are a few. I have witnessed a little bit of the strangeness. I was part of an investigation into it. They have meetings at night..They have rituals, do temple stuff outside the temple, but more crass and base, and harmful. They twist LDS doctrine to suit their own power hungry, evil deeds. And they pretend to be upstanding church members, they even believe it themselves for the most part. They are very sneaky with their....doctrine. They are very subtle. They start out saying things like... "satan had a divine mission and was called to be our opposition.... he will one day receive his body and be exalted. "(this was actually something that spread in the early days of the church... Joseph said it was wrong, evil and should "be taught no more in Zion" .but is still being taught....people tried to teach it to me....these same people do temple stuff outside the temple to get "real revelation" funny how all ya gotta do is break your temple covenants and you get real revelation....YUKK )These people erroneously worship the father, and His two sons, Christ, and Lucifer. They have justified themselves into thinking that this is greater light and knowledge, and they are becoming part of the church of the firstborn. And are getting their callings and elections made sure. They are taught that to be as "the gods" they must learn to do good and evil in it's proper place. (like nephi killing laban) I know, CRAZY, but I have seen it.people have been hurt deeply by wolves in sheep's clothing... Quote
