"The lord doesn't require me to go on a mission"
Hemidakota replied to kiadalin's topic in Advice Board
Do you think it is more on the parents who are doing it or the teachings of the church from Sunbeam lessons to being a Priest? -

A discussion of Heaven and our view of heaven

What I didn't state for Nibley sake, the difference of reading the material here versus what he did by a mere touch the outside of the book, he learn not only the content of the book but the author's emtions impact from his/her eyes of writing the book. :) -
Bear for it for a season and do the right for your family. Trials of fire have a purpose for all of our lives but you will be blessed for it. It is a sore grievance what I seen by your posting with members in the church, even posting of a few here, and why justice is slow to make changes. I can only imagine what the Lord sees on a grander scale with others. But we are told the cleansing is coming soon but how soon is up to the Lord and currently preventable by Elias as told by John in Revelations with members and non-members alike in this world. I know it is hard to be patience at moment and being a wonderful parent you are, your desire for the best for your children and family is a major concern. Just have bear down and may have to attend another branch or ward for a time if possible. If not, I wish I could hug you at this time as a brother in the Gospel for saying, we love you and care for you. I draw concurrence with Applepansy statement, I will do my part in seeking an address with the Lord in prayer and fasting this weekend.

A discussion of Heaven and our view of heaven
Hemidakota replied to Traveler's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I could be mistaken; I have yet to see anything currently on this earth which resembles the Celestial glory, whether it is human or lesser forms of life. The last individual that was a celestial being was murdered by His own people. The only case I could see, portals to the celestial realms would be any temple. Anything else I do consider living, resides in a telestial state. Neither, I can fathom this Sun or any of the solar habitation could receive any direct light from GOD and live at this point. Regards to the Book of Abraham, even our telestial Sun receives or borrows it light from medium vice directly from either Kolob, first world next to GOD or GOD HIMSELF. There is a notable reduction of physical light being seen if there is mediums between us and the celestial glory. But if the earth fell from the presence of GOD, as stated by the brethren since Joseph time, the earth when in its paradiscal glory [Garden of Eden] resided next to Kolob. We do know, both Adam and Eve lived in a terrestrial state [see the D&C]. It goes reason, if our earth is not in either both the terrestrial or celestial state; what we are now observing is of a telestial order. Right? -
It is your right in not sustaining the calling Elgama. Did you in fact raise your hand as a negative reply? You indicated it was done through e-mail. If so, a member of either the branch or stake presidency should have contacted you privately. Perhaps, I reading this wrong. I know, this is heart wrenching in seeing such actions is unwarranted. You may need to remind your husband in allowing you to be the recipient of the message. Perhaps, you need to make an appointment to meet with one of the presidency to voice your concerns.

Peter James and Jude. -
Let us look at this from someone who was living in that timeframe. This was written by Santigo. No last name was written and found in the Contributor, vol. 11 (November 1889-October 1890).

Traveler, if this earth is currently living in a telestial state due to the fall, would not the Sun also reside in the same state? -

Not all of the apostles serve in either a mission or the military. Any care to name them? -
I also chuckle at a few here, through lack of using the Spirit of discernment in judging others, completely missed the mark, it is quite embarrassing and at that point, all you can do is let the Lord deal with it. I also chuckled over those who looking for a misses or mister right. Simply not going to find it. Human nature being filled physical flaws from parental upbringing, culture diversities, inherited genetic disabilities, ego character not aware of before marriage, and so forth. Though, we could use added maturity in the gospel and life itself, but at what point will wait for a companion of choice? In this case, I would side with the parent decision until as I stated earlier in this post, for each of them to make the effort to seek the Lord for an answer in prayer. A cautious statement, be prepare to live what is given as an answer. Questioned here, is he ready to accept the answer for better or worse? I can point to my own life, where two couples of complete opposite after 29-years of marriage can work. We simply learn through trials and errors of loving each other no matter the vast indifferences. We had out ups and down, but through it all, thick and thin, when we apply love unconditionally, is when marriage works. If the other companion decides not to meet a personal expectation, does it really matter as the end goal in marriage, where there is real love for each other? No. Some of us may take another length of time beyond the veil in order to reach this level. Others may reach it in this mortality. The gospel should be the core of each of our lives. Yet, it is still a choice if we wish to succeed or not in anything we desire.

I received the same Elgama. My answer was to serve in the military. Every time I felt that I should leave the military, I would go to the temple after I have formulated my own answer, I would receive a different answer. I have learned, it is always better to pray and ask for His will for us then we live our will. You know, out of current fifteen chosen beloved Apostles of the Lord, nine of which did not serve a mission. Three of which was out of the necessity of World War II. So what do u all think of this mess, where in cause of BP Oil
Hemidakota replied to Roseslipper's topic in Current Events
Latest slipped from two scientist at the first meeting talked as this was pure speculation....I have to agree with their statement. Today, this issue on oil is formed has began some grass roots in causing a dividing of opinions from this old notion. Having old oil wells that require to be recapped in the last decade may have some knew answers to the former belief. Hopefully, our blood doesn't drained the rate we are doing to the earth to renew itself. Trulykiwi this is question that needs to be answered. -

Can God Speed Up Time? Does He Learn through fast simulation?
Hemidakota replied to a topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
I do believe HIS Knowledge is complete to be GOD for this state but for experiences, I believe it is still on going. I do believe every earth is the same play, but fielded with different actors playing the roles. The play always has the same ending but the variations of acting in the play may be experienced slightly differently everytime the play is reacted. I totally agree, there is a greater meaning behind in this title called CHRIST we may learn latter as we enter into that realm. -

Good luck with that one... -
Not being there in person has moments of speculation here. How was your answer received by you? Was it feeling that made you believe? Did you hear a voice or rushing water that called you by name and told you who he was? There are only two ways to receive a given answer to this - feelings or voice.

The prophecy of the name of Messiah in the Book of Mormon
Hemidakota replied to Gerasim's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
It was Nephi penning the thought and name. Nephi saw the Savior's birth and knew of the name being conveyed in his vision or dream. I believe this is the correct translated usage vice other Hebrew or short-hand Egyptian writing. -
It doesn't matter on long ago or what had transpired but whether he/she can answer the given interview questions. There are exceptions (murder, abortion, recent immoral acts, current drug addition, so forth) that will require the Mission President involvement. He/she will need to be personally interview prior to baptism. It is better to get it over then to have this hanging on your shoulders for years to come. Having such an emotional impact it can cause an individual just not worth it.
