  1. Curious though, was Lucifer created for this role or just 'fell-into' this role?
  2. What is our ancient past then?
  3. Are stating, Jehovah was created when Elohim was in mortality, acting in the role as Savior?
  4. Good morning Suzie. For this aspect, I respectfully tell you "I do know." It wouldn't change. This is not my opinion that I am sharing here either. Regards to the priesthood, the sealed companions, will share the same priesthood together [hence: Kings and Queens, Priest and Priestess] as Joseph stated. There is no allowance for H/L to continue in that style of life with any of three glories assigned. Each is bound by laws. To live in any of those glories, one must abide its laws and boundaries.
  5. Let add some personal moment I had with a young man that I interviewed couple years ago. I had an opportunity to meet one of the sons of the church's master statue builder. This young man was seeking to get away from his surroundings, which was filled with the youth of the church [specific town in Utah] who were violating WoW. This town was located in specific town in Utah. He simply wanted to clean up his life. After a serious of interviews with this young man, he wanted a personal blessing. I had the opportunity to give this courage young man a blessing. Now what was spoken was very unique and special for him. It was stated, his talent of building statues, will be used in the preparation of temple building in the New Jerusalem. Just amazing….
  6. Is he a member of the church?
  7. Thanks. I was lazy yesterday, with retrieving the exact verses. Interesting though, why didn't Mohammad did not see the Christ [Lord]? Or, was this intentionally left out, knowing, what every gospel was given by the Master, Mohammad would have to follow. Being a restoration prophet if one would claim it, wouldn’t the Savior would reveal Himself to [called] prophet before any angel or ministering spirit? Questions…more questions!
  8. It is true with provided lessons but not true with Sacrament [Fast and Testimony] meeting. Think of it as - without 'purse and script'. This is very revealing what is the pressing thought within the members mind. What is more important, dichotomy of GOD or oneself?
  9. If it has not changed now, it wouldn't change in the future. What you are seeing is a eternal fact.
  10. Now, we don’t want to call Turkey a hypocrite nation.
  11. Not being a publican, let all social programs be handled and given to the states.
  12. They will follow the same path. Who do you think is China number one biggest customer? Not Europe...
  13. Or, did He learn it from the FATHER?
  14. Perhaps, the Vatican could chime in and let us know; having over 5000 scrolls in their vault. Was Paul an apostle? Something I found with great interest, was there anytime did Joseph Smith called him after that manner? After a lengthy research, I could not find one instance; even after Paul visited Joseph, he never mentioned it. But, what is disputable here, Joseph never corrected the verse in Act either. My assumption and personnel feelings, spiritually, he was an apostle of the Lamb. Whether Joseph biblical correction was to restore the content back to its original writing, or, correcting the author. I can only assume, he was called. Thanks for your added insight.
  15. It was a joke. However,if you believe she was called as an apostle, I simply don't. :)
  16. Actually, it was before Islam, this is seen in the Book of Enoch with the same usage. I wondering if Islam borrowed it from earlier writings.
  17. Perhaps, this is why we have angels assigned to various aspect of this world, including usage of the all seeing eye glass, the Urim and Thummim, ensuring human agency doesn’t drive the ‘Plan of Salvation’ to far off course.
  18. Reminds of Elder Legrand Richards thought concerning Calvin injection of the usage of the term; One of the much-misunderstood teachings of the holy scriptures is the principle of predestination, as taught by Calvin, one of the early reformers. Had he understood the principle of preexistence, that we all lived in the spirit world before we were born here upon the earth, it would have enabled him to understand how men could be foreordained, called, and chosen before they were born to do certain work upon the earth without being predestined. He would also have understood how, because of the Lord's acquaintance with the spirits of all his children, he could know in advance what they would do under given circumstances and conditions, even as earthly parents may know largely how their own children will react to given experiences. But the holy scripture does not sustain the extreme stand taken by many of that thought: (1) that some are predestined to eternal life and that regardless of what they do, they will achieve it, while others are predestined to eternal damnation, and if so predestined, there is nothing they can do about it; (2) that every act of our lives is predetermined before we are born, and we cannot deviate therefrom; and (3) that whatever happens to us in life is the will of the Lord. Such a belief would hold the Lord responsible for all the wickedness, disobedience, and unrighteousness in the world. If man is without free agency and choice, then God, who created man, must have done the choosing, and hence he and not man is responsible for the life of man. The explanation usually given is that all men are born subjects of eternal damnation, but that by the principle of grace, those whom the Lord elects to predestine may obtain salvation—none others. This view is usually called fatalism. 'Marvelous Work and a Wonder' by LeGrand Richards
  19. Adding to the previous post, Ron done some excellent teaching on this subject at 'CES', concerning this topic that may be some interest for you; Here is the link: http://ce.byu.edu/edweek/handouts/2006/RonBartholomew_All_Handouts.pdf
  20. Here is the same question that was asked to Joseph Smith and here was his reply; But not to occupy to much space, we will give the remainder, and make but one comment upon the whole. John 17:4, 1, 4. "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now I am no more in the world, but, Father, keep, through thine own name, those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. Father, I will that those also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovest me before the foundation of the world." Acts 3:20, 1. "And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the time of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began." Heb. 1:3,5. Also, 4:14.—6:20.—9:27,28. "Who, being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son! Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.—Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest forever, after the order of Melchisedec. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment; So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many: and unto them that look for him shall be appear the second time, without sin, unto salvation." The times of restitution, spoken of in Acts, the reader will notice is to be applied to the very persons to whom it was spoken, for at the time their sins were to be blotted out. On the remainder we merely say. Christ was seen 40 days after his resurrection. See Acts 1:3. 10, 40, 41. Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly; not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us who did eat and drink with him, after he rose from the dead.—The query is, did the apostles see him, or does the historian tell an untruth? 1 Cor. 15 commence with the 3rd and end with the 8th—we quote the 6th here. "After that (his resurrection) he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once!" Paul was personally knowing to this fact. This "friend of truth" would have us believe that Messiah is not to come till the final judgment—this is a subject so plainly written in the bible that we deem it unnecessary to add any thing on it. Messenger and Advocate, vol. 1
  21. Having the ability to repent and the knowledge to do so, in refusing, is no different than being Cain. I agree with Traveler. Even David sake, fortunate for him, David did not receive the fullness of the Priesthood. David did seek repentance to his last dying breath over the death of a captain and friend. The worst case for this brother, he only looses half of his glory. No matter the circumstances, except for those who entered in the last covenant, namely - Sealing in having one’s Calling and Election made sure, commit any murder or apostatized against the Lord/Holy Ghost, there will be no forgiveness for this type, but others can inherit a measure of glory like David of old. Few References: These things are an abomination in the sight of the Lord; yea, most abominable above all sins save it be the shedding of innocent blood or denying the Holy Ghost. —Alma 39:5 [savior stated] ... Out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. (Mark 7:21-23.) [Alma to his son] Know ye not, my son, that these things are an abomination in the sight of the Lord; yea, most abominable above all sins save it be the shedding of innocent blood or denying the Holy Ghost? (Al. 39:5.) [savior rating adultery close to premeditated murder] "And again, I command thee that thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife; nor seek thy neighbor's life." (D&C 19:25.) [Thoughts of adultery are on the same level as the actual event according to the Savior] "Ye have heard that it "as said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." (Matt. 5:27-28.) [Deceit or a liar] Since truthfulness is an attribute that is perfected in Deity, it follows that God is a Being who cannot lie. (D. & C. 62:6; Enos 6; 3 Ne. 27:18; Ether 3:12; Titus 1:2; Heb. 6:18.) Similarly, "the Spirit speaketh the truth and lieth not." (Jac. 4:13.) Lucifer, on the other hand, "was a liar from the beginning" (D. & C. 93:25), "is the father of all lies" (2 Ne. 2:18; 9:9; Ether 8:25; John 8:44), and entices men to become liars. (2 Ne. 28:8.) But men are commanded by the Lord not to lie (D. & C. 10:25-28; 42:21; 3 Ne. 26:32; Col. 3:9), for liars "shall be thrust down to hell" (2 Ne. 9:34), shall suffer the second death (D. & C. 63:17; Rev. 21:8), and receive a final inheritance in the telestial kingdom. (D. & C. 76:103.) In Nephite times liars were also punished by the civil law (Alma 1:17), and there are some civil and criminal proceedings today based on deceit and fraud. (D. & C. 42:8.) 23. Same reasoning when I read this statement in the Doctrine and Covenants about the the four assigned angels [really known as destroyers] can ensure that the gospel can reach every corner of the world? D&C 77:8 Q. What are we to understand by the four angels, spoken of in the 7th chapter and 1st verse of Revelation? A. We are to understand that they are four angels sent forth from God, to whom is given power over the four parts of the earth, to save life and to destroy; these are they who have the everlasting gospel to commit to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people; having power to shut up the heavens, to seal up unto life, or to cast down to the regions of darkness. How would the Lord ensure, these assigned angels, having authority over the gospel, commit the gospel to every country, every person, in variety of languages prior to the closure of this world? I believe it will be done through assigned mortal called men/women, spirits across the veil, in aiding them to bring the Master’s work on both side of the veil, whether in the spirit prison or still living in mortality. Every person who live, or will live, will have the opportunity to hear it. Or the work is not complete. I hardly doubt the Master can return and report to the FATHER, claiming, every child has had the chance to hear the message.
