  1. I would suggest enlisting the parents: "Parents, due to the messes usually made during our activities, we ask that you not leave with your youth until we have finished cleaning up. Thank you." This way you have additional authority figures making sure the kids are doing what they're supposed to do in a timely manner. The parents want to go home, too!
  2. IBS is an unfortunate name, but Kaka is okay? Nightengale
  3. Well I feel silly. I saw on their webpage "starts at 6:30MST" right as it was 5:30 PST (where I am), so I started watching it. I now realize that it *isn't* "live" that I'm watching. Don't mind me. I've obviously eaten too many jelly beans today.
  4. Anybody watching/listening to this right now? Breathtakingly beautiful!
  5. I prefer to read my news online. It's easier to sift through the fluff, and if I want to find out more to a story, I can start Googling and/or clicking on links (if the story included sources) to try to dig a bit deeper.
  6. Awesome talk! You could feel his enthusiasm for the gospel.
  7. Probably my favorite talk from the afternoon session. :)
  8. So glad to see a sister addressing this topic. It's not just a "guy problem" anymore. We'll likely be making this into an FHE lesson soon.
  9. Listening to music. Going for a long run. Putting on one of my dance costumes and dancing in my living room (a swirling circle skirt cures many ills!) Snuggling with one (or more) of my children. Resting my head on my husband's shoulder.
  10. Tweaking my avatar. My first one didn't look as good as I had hoped once it was reduced to thumbnail size. Now I'm staring off to the side, instead of staring into your soul.
  11. So my daughter and I ended up having a wonderful time! She was already asking when the next one would be, before this one was even over! :) We went to the \"munch and mingle\" hour beforehand, and had lots of yummy food with the other moms and daughters in attendance. Then we watched the *wonderful* broadcast, snuggling with each other for a good amount of it (as did most of the other moms and daughters, from what I saw), then we went to an amazing little hole-in-the-wall pizza place and ate pizza while playing checkers on our table. :)
  12. Well, first thing I did just now when getting back onto the site was log off and re-long-in and I *still* had to \"log in\" before I could post, so I essentially had to log in twice. I wonder if it\'s just me? Also, when browsing the site on my phone there was a New Posts button! Not on my PC though (both were through Chrome)
  13. The site is also requiring me to sign in each time I come, if I want to post, even though I show as already signed in. I have to log-off and re-sign-in before it allows me to post.
  14. There is one at the bottom, right below the last post. (I wish there were on at the top too, though)
  15. I\'ll say I do like the new feel of the board. I don\'t hate it at all, just hope that some things are fixed or adjusted soon. Thank you to those of you who are working on implementing the change!
  16. The \"pinned\" posts at the top of each forum take up a lot of space, too. For example, when I came into this forum (General Discussion) I had to scroll down a bit before I actually saw any active topics.
  17. Yay, I can finally update my profile picture! LOL. Am also missing the \"new posts\" feature. Is that one of the \"bugs\" that\'s being worked out?
  18. I took the part of "after being taught the priesthood propriety of such an action" to mean "she understands that this is what her husband has to do before taking a second wife" (i.e. she knows he has to ask her before he takes a second wife), but she doesn't say "yes", that puts her under condemnation.
  19. Am I reading this right? If the first wife gives permission, her husband can take a second wife, but if the first wife does *not* give her permission, then she is under condemnation and the husband can take a second wife without her permission?
  20. I wonder as I wander... I wonder what Heavenly Mother is like. I wonder what my children will grow up to be. I wonder if they'll thank me or hate me for homeschooling them.
  21. I know the "tradition" surrounding the Priesthood meeting is fathers and sons going out for ice cream afterwards, anyone thinking of doing something similar for this new meeting? I'll be going with my 9 year old daughter, and we may make a "girls night out" out of it.
  22. My DH interviewed for a job in UT sporting a well-groomed goatee. He was offered the job but didn't accept it for other reasons.
  23. In addition, consider what the ceremonial clothing put on during the Endowment is said to represent, and how BOTH genders put on the SAME garments, with no distinction made between what the men's garments represent versus what the women's garments represent. For me, I can see the possibility of the Priesthood being expanded to include women. It's certainly been expanded before, from just the great Patriarchs holding it, to only Levites holding it, to Jews holding it, to Gentiles holding it, etc. Given the context of the Temple, there WILL be a time where BOTH genders will be holding and exercising Priesthood power. It may be that that time is only beyond the veil, but I'm not willing to say that the Lord might not have plans for it being held by women here on Earth as well. (and if that is in the Plan, I'm willing to wait for the revelation)
  24. Press Forward, Saints! One of my favorites! Yay!
