  1. If a doctor advised their patient (a Latter-day Saint) that coffee would help their migraines and prescribed it as medicinal use; and this was explained to the bishop; you would think that the bishop was wrong in allowing this member a temple recommend? M.
  2. But should @AbramM and his girlfriend take your word for it, or should they check them out and determine that for themselves. M.
  3. Yes, it is a Restorationist denomination but it seems to be in harmony with Protestant theology. It doesn't hurt to check them out. M.
  4. Here's a thought. Why don't the two of you check out Community of Christ. I am adding a link so you can check them out and find a congregation in your area. Hopefully the link is acceptable with the forum rules. http://www.cofchrist.org/what-we-believe M.
  5. @AbramM, I don't know how long you and your girlfriend have known each other, how long you dated or how long you have been engaged. If it has only been weeks then it's understandable that you were ignorant of your girlfriend's Church's history and beliefs. But if you have known each other for months and close to at least a year, then your ignorance regarding her faith is also on you. In that amount of time, you should have at least been interested enough to have asked your girlfriend questions about her faith and not just assumed. M.
  6. And the only way you can do that is by communicating with each other. M.
  7. Pre-marriage counselling is a good thing. The fact that you don't want to communicate (share information, ask questions...) things with your girlfriend says that you are not ready to get married. You seem very immature when it comes to communication, which is very important in a marriage. Don't be afraid to talk with your girlfriend/fiancee. M.
  8. @AbramM, I would advise you and your fiancee to take Pre-marriage Councelling classes. Does your church offer these? Here's a list of questions that can be discussed with these classes. https://www.marriage.com/advice/pre-marriage/pre-marriage-counselling-questions-to-answer-before-saying-i-do/ M.
  9. Maybe you should have a discussion with your fiancee about her Church's beliefs, so that you understand where the posters commenting on this thread are coming from. M.
  10. I agree with @Connie. You need to talk with your fiancee and find out if finding a church family you both are comfortable with is important to her too. M.
  11. I want to know who the 3 people are who think the middle one is correct. 😊 M.
  12. Now you can tell your friends that they are not actually removing Christ out of Christmas when using Xmas. 😊 M.

I watched and read the links you supplied and I don't see how any of them convey what you said in your quote above. M.
  14. That is ridiculous. Coffee is not the only kind of food that is bitter; brussel sprouts, cabbage, walnuts, cranberries fall into the bitter category. A person's taste buds are usually what determine if a person will like a bitter tasting food. M.

Yes, the teacher told her student to clean his face, but he allegedly tried to explain to her what the ash cross meant and she either ignored what he was saying and/or didn't care what it meant to him. If the student didn't explain the ash cross, the teacher could have said as much and it's doubtful this story would have gotten this much attention. Either way, where there's a lack of communication between a teacher and student; I would say since the teacher is in charge, it doesn't make the teacher look good. M.
  16. You'ld have very soggy pancakes. M.

    1. How do you know this? Do you have something to back this up? 2. How does this make it any better? M.
  19. Women cannot be sealed to more than one husband while alive but proxy sealings can be done for deceased women and all husbands they were married to. https://www.lds.org/manual/members-guide-to-temple-and-family-history-work/chapter-7-providing-temple-ordinances?lang=eng M.
  20. I just watched Game Night (Rachel McAdams and Jason Bateman). I thought it was hilarious. M.

If this story was not told, then you would have not been able to create this thread about this story you feel should not have been told. πŸ˜‰ M.
  23. I know someone like that. I met one of my friends when she was a single mother, mid-twenties, she had a 4 yo daughter. Her place was always spotless and she was a wonderful cook, always baking. I was always in awe of her talents. M.
  24. I'm curious who this "david guy" is that you are referring to. M.
  25. Hey @StrawberryFields, it's nice to see you here. So sorry for your health issues. I will be sending prayers for you. M.
