The plaintiffs and the Perpetrator are not named. Only the 2 defendants have been named. M. -
Abuse Allegation Against Members Of Nelson Family
Maureen replied to lostinwater's topic in Current Events
My understanding is that children (who are now adults) were sexually assaulted by their father known as the Perpetrator. The children told their mother and they eventually divorced, Perpetrator eventually remarried and sexually assaulted his step-children. Perpetrator eventually took his own life. The children of Perpetrator are also saying that the Miles' were also involved in these sexual assaults (known as male and female defendants). M. -
Who is the best cook in your home? What is your best dish?
Maureen replied to Lost Boy's topic in General Discussion
I would say I'm a smidge better cook than my husband. Although his chili is really good. I make tasty pork loin chops....and yummy banana bread. M. -

I saw this link on MDDB. Mormon Land seems to be connected with the SL Tribune and I know many posters here are not fans with that newspaper. So if this link is not allowed here, I won't be surprised if it's removed. https://m.soundcloud.com/mormonland/the-gossip-you-might-not-have-heard-about-general-conference-episode-50 M.

I get the impression that since your Prophet doesn't want members to identify themselves as Mormon anymore, he would prefer if they (you) identified themselves (yourselves) as Christians. Maybe something like: restoredchristian.com or restoredchristian.org M.

The Compliment thread - Positive Feelings

@JohnsonJones, you are always very thoughtful. I will admit that sometimes I do not read your posts to the end. Sometimes they are just too long. π I love how you talk about your grandchildren, I'm a brand new grandmother, I can relate to your perspective. I love how you can admit that not everything is rosy. Life and even religions have their problems, but even with problems there is also good. You are a benefit to this forum. M. -
My husband and son will be watching.. They've been looking forward to this day for weeks. Falcons vs Eagles, they are Falcons fans. The Nike ad will be on tonight. M.

Both my MIL and FIL have since passed away but I got along with both. My FIL was very social and charismatic that I used to think it was he who was responsibile for the social functions and get-to-gethers but when my MIL passed away it was very clear the she had been the glue that kept all the family members together and interactive. When my FIL remarried he seemed to find a new family with his stepchildren (and their children) and he wasn't one to take an interest in his own grandchildren (never called) but of course would take an interest if we reached out to him. I am retired and I am a brand new grandmother. I love babysitting my granddaughter occasionally, like once or twice a week, but I don't think I could do it fulltime. Even grandparents have their own lives and interests, and we require time to accomplish our goals and enjoy our hobbies/interests. Human beings are meant to have children in their 20s and 30s because it's easier physically. I'm in my late 50s and I don't think I'm physically able to watch my granddaughter (under 1yo) fulltime. Your husband probably doesn't understand how physically demanding it is, to watch over young children fulltime when you're older. M.

Your previous posts say: The reason why I think you associate kindness with religion is because that is what you wrote in these quotes. So if an atheist can be kind, moral and ethical, how do you believe that happens, if religion did not teach them that? What do you contribute their goodness to, if you can't associate this goodness with a religion? And if an atheist can have good principles and actions without a connection to religion, why wouldn't other people base your good principles and actions on your own choices as a person, and not contribute them to your religion? M.

@Fether, if you meet a kind person, whose morality and ethics you admire and you find out he or she is an atheist, how do you reconcile their good characteristics with the fact they are not a member of any God-centred religion? M.
