I will no longer pay taxes because the gov't will only use it on things I do not approve of, never ever ever on the things I do approve of (like schools and roads and military...). Funny, I kind've thought the cash for clunkers thing would be paid for by the taxes those people will pay, like taking out a loan against the taxes of the next 2 years or so (ohh like taking out a loan against your 401k). I believe most insurance companies (including mine) have wellness bonuses. For instance, non-smokers at McCain Foods get $45/month...just for not smoking! The state of Idaho has a bonus program for Medicaid (or Medicare, forgot which) where people get points for achieving goals. I still don't know what the points are for, but more and more companies and states are realizing preventive care is cheaper in the long run than fixing problems. I think this is a huge step forward for them, and should be encouraged

I've been to Idaho (obviously), Utah, umm let's start with the west coast...no, let's just list states I haven't seen. New England, all East coast except Florida and Georgia. All the states surrounding Pennsylvania, and North and South Dakota. Wait, is Illinois by Penn? I've been there too..I've seen Mexicali, Mexico and various parts of B.C. and Alberta at various times in the past. Now that I'm older and can appreciate it more I want to go back

This really happened, Bytor. We were in Cali at the time and while my dad got medicaid (disabled) and us kids got medi-cal my mom wasn't able to qualify for anything, and we looked too. A simple surgery that we couldn't afford ended up costing a lot more through lack of medical coverage. The only reason my mom got the surgery finally was because the county (in Idaho) agreed to put a $6000 lien against their house in exchange for the operation. They are now paying the county back at $50/month. I'm not saying people shouldn't pay something for medical care. People tend to appreciate things more when they pay for them. What I am saying is this: the damage to my mom from the chronic illness over the years was great and now she has a lot of health problems that would have never happened if she had medical coverage. Why should we care? Because she now qualifies for disability and that in the long run gonna be a lot more expensive to the taxpayers than the surgery.

My daughter was very little then and we were watching teletubbies. Well you can watch only so much of that so I would turn it to the news every so often and saw that a plane had hit the first tower. I thought 'gee that's too bad', watched for a bit, and changed it back to teletubbies. After that was over I turned it back to the news, mere moments after the second plane hit. That's when I woke my sisters up and told them something bad was happening. Remember how safe the world was after the Berlin wall fell? Well, safe as far as total world destruction. I remember looking at my baby and realizing she's probably never going to be that safe ever again.

My gosh, President Obama was a socialist, then a communist (yes they are very different), and now he's the anti-christ. Where does he find the time to burn children in the White House bball court? Or has he appointed a commie czar for that too?
