  1. But what does that have to do with the pretty graphs?
  2. It's the cultish part that makes us so much fun
  3. Same as any other behavior. Obey the rules of the house or find your own house. But to kick an orphan 19 yr old out into the harsh world? I hope his aunt one day truly understands what she did.
  4. Last night I was thinking about potatoes and how I have the power to determine which ones become french fries and which ones do not, which naturally brought me to 'death panels'. Bear with me. It was a long shift We have heard a lot of people say Pres. Obama is lying about not killing people who are past their prime, but I ask this: Are we not all on our own little death panel when we decide who should and who should not receive health care? When we say you must pay and if you can't afford it then you must go without we are saying you don't deserve to live. Seriously, who can afford treatment for breast cancer if they don't have insurance? If Glenn Beck's oldest daughter was born when he didn't have insurance he would have had to declare bankruptcy. In fact, most of the people who declare bankruptcy for medical reasons had insurance (I'll find the stats after I wake up). I am not prepared to tell people they don't deserve to live because of their circumstances. Like it says in one of my favorite songs, 'You know where it ends Yo, it usually depends on where you start.' -Everlast
  5. And this has what t do with the topic?
  6. Polls and statistics are fun to play with. What I love is how you can frame a question 5 different ways that says the same thing, but the person will give 5 different answers (I took statistics in college, it totally blew me away).
  7. I tend to get my news from UK sources. I'm a sucker for the lingo And I think O'Reilly is just lulling liberals into a false sense of security, then he'll pounce!
  8. Rejection and bad movies I am glad Ms. Smart feels up to the task. If I were the one that had to face what she did I'd probably still be under my blankets.
  9. If by lacking a plan you mean he borrows heavily from Romney's healthcare plan (that passed) and umm..who is that other guy..also a Republican..ok I totally forgot the name lol. But I will find it! Anyways his healthcare plan figures heavily into Pres. Obama's plan. And guess what? They both worked in their states
  10. Not entirely true. Just try to get medicaid in Idaho.
  11. What she said Those are all places I want to go. I've actually driven all those miles on No. 4, but never did stop anywhere except Nauvoo.
  12. I think wrong is ambidexterous.
  13. Don't be silly, people. It's not dead, it's merely dormant until the next Rep. administration Then it will come back...like Freddy...or Jason...
  14. I really want to go to Glacier Nat'l Park. Driving Going-to-the-Sun road has always been on my list of things to do
  15. Thank you for the link. ---------------------------- In my view, the basic values of the Democratic party before abortion became the third rail match closer to my LDS values. I am a Mormon, a 3rd generation union member, an unapologetic champion of those who need a little more help than most, a mom, a daughter, a sister, and a firm believer that this is the best country on earth (sorry everyone else, your countries are very nice though!). That is why I am a liberal LDS
  16. I was born in the year of the pig, does that mean I'm immune? I'm getting the flu shot anyways. At least that will be one virus I won't get
  17. Well, one thing about Mr. Kayne West is he speaks from his heart Ohh yes, I found out more about Pres. Obama's calling Mr. West a barnyard animal. Turns out CNBC and ABC share a fiber optic line to save money and some ABC people did a little snooping, overheard what the president said before his interview, and twittered like idiots. I'm not happy with them because now how are we gonna get info from 'unnamed sources' if they can't trust that what they say is off the record?
  18. I think the point was to not focus to the exclusion of all other stuff. Like the Shakers example.
  19. talisyn

    Why?

I don't know why, but I'm sure you could get a Congressional committee to look into it.
  20. I know! I thought this health-care debate would be just a bunch of partisan warbling like always but wow something shifted in the American political process, didn't it? I blame reality TV.
  21. Indeed, with my job I wouldn't get to wear a diamond ring much either. My fiance did get a ring for me, a pretty ruby with a setting that looks like a shooting star. Pretty and I don't have the pressure of keeping track of a tiny couple thousand dollar ornamentation Edit: He says it's suppose to look like cherry blossoms.
  22. Maybe that worked for you but not for me, when I was in the 8th grade I was in fights almost every week because I stood up for myself Of course that just might be the difference between girls and boys. Girls tend to hold grudges.
  23. If we cant laugh at ourselves, believe me everyone else will. Yes the temple is sacred and not good to mock but can we laugh at ourselves?
  24. I disagree
  25. Congrats! That's awesome But..haven't you seen read about the diamond mines in Africa? Diamonds are artificially rare, kept that way so as to control supply and demand by a handful of very rich families. OK save the world mode /off. What you should do is buy your fiance an engagement Jaguar, early edition However, if you really must buy a diamond understand that the colored ones are usually irradiated so the color will fade over time, and there really isn't any difference between created or mined diamonds, molecule wise. They are sparkly and pretty, just buy one that is at least 1/2 the size of her pinky fingernail.
