  1. The Word. The man has brought to you the attention of Gods Word. Very little did he say otherwise. ...and yet you kill him in your thoughts. You are better than this. Love each other and listen to each other. I know, I know.... I am a troll. God Bless, Jim
  2. The moderators are doing a great job. They do allow different opinions and they have put up with me for a while now. (...and thats not easy). Thanks for letting me share, Jim
  3. I disagree, some here are unfair to the original poster. As far as sitting this one out, I have already said I know nothing of the subject and will not comment on it. However, I get my back up when I see the thoughts and speech of another squashed. Almost every subject on this forum can bee looked up. So your logic does not stand. It is the real time conversation and input that make forums like this so useful. God Bless, Jim
  4. I am glad to see this trend, not just with religion, but all organizations. The LDS should be very proud. Jim
  5. I know nothing about this subject, but I need to say this. A question was asked and I can see concerted effort by some members to: one, kill this thread by suggesting you do your own research, two, go after the poster by suggesting the poster is something other than who she claims to be. If their is anything here that smells funny, it's not from the original poster. Love each other, Jim
  6. I have many LDS neighbors and I can assure you this has nothing to do with this or any religion. It is however a difference of opinion of how a dog should be treated. I agree with you. Its not a great situation. Tell them you will call the authorities if they do not fix the problem in a given time. This will let them know you are serious. I hope you can learn to forgive and love each other. Good luck, Jim
  7. Hello Prison Chaplain, I have a good friend who is an LDS bishop. I can tell you this. He is a very hard worker and has very little free time. As a matter of fact I don't think he has any free time. When he is not at work he is off doing church business. He is just about the most giving man I have ever met and his love for Jesus is overflowing. His ward is lucky to have such a person. Jim
  8. First of all this example does not support adding JS name to the bible. But, I was wondering, lets assume you are correct, why would Joseph Smith's name have been removed in the first place? Makes no sense, Jim
  9. I agree with you 100%. False religion is a big problem. Jim
  10. What would you call the change where Joseph Smith added his name to the text of the bible? ...and are any alarms going off in your head regarding this? Jim
  11. "Mormons believe in a God that can tell a womb from a petri dish and other "Christians" don't" So Mormons are not Christians? I don't think thats right. Jim
  12. Missouri?
  13. OK, as the resident non LDS member, I will add my two cents. The spirit has been telling me that something big is on the horizon and signs are everywhere. We have a president who is lacking in morals. Abortion, stem cell research and fiscal responsibility are just for starters. He is charismatic and can I mention, the anitchrist will also be charismatic. No, I do not believe he is the antichrist, but he is a good example of just how the masses will be sucked into him when he does come. Sad, but true. I have followed the LDS lead in preparing my family for the downfall of this country. We have food supplies and a place to go when it is time. It is only a matter of time before we see protests turn violent, food shortages, gangs out of control (like the border) and a general disregard for the law. Law enforcers will be overwhelmed. I have neighbors out of work and having their homes foreclosed on. Suicides are just around the corner. I am lucky to live in Utah where so many of us are prepared thanks to your church. I own a ranch and all my neighbors are LDS. We look after each other as family. What I have they have and vice versa. Yes I think the revelations are soon to come true. I will be glad to rapture with you and sing holy holy to God. Jim
  14. Get some earplugs, congrats, Jim
  15. So, Jesus, according to you, discriminates by the color of skin. I don't think so. You know this is so off that I am done with this thread. I love you all, God Bless you, Jim
  16. Skippy, I am not against LDS. I am talking here about racial discrimination. It can never be tollerated. Most religions have at one time been in this catagory. So, my point is not against the LDS faith in specific. Do you not get that. It is about the discrimination of a person by how light is reflected off their skin. Not one of you have stepped up to the plate and said this is wrong. I have a hard time understanding that. Skippy, please understand I in no way am being disrespectful to your religion. It is your defense for this ugly discrimination that is in debate here. Jim
  17. You are holding up racial discrimination and defending it. I don't need to be better at scripture to know you are wrong. Jesus is Love. ...and this thread is everything but. Your positions are just wrong. It is not like Jesus to discriminate. Many religions are guilty of things in their past. The LDS religion is of no acception. I just cant believe none of you will admit to it. If you stand by LDS history than you are saying that before the revelation a white LDS member was better than a black member simply because of the color of his skin. This does not stand....ever. Jim
  18. I love you all, but I am crying. How do you not see what I see. Jesus loves all man past present and future equally. How do you debate man when his eyes are shut. I will pray for all of you. Jim
  19. Are you guys defending racial discrimination. I am sorry, but this is not a LDS specific subject. All, and I say all religions who practice or have practiced racial discrimination are in the wrong. You can not defend it ever! Your religion is no different than most religions. Most religions have dirty laundry. Are any of you willing to stand up and be counted as saying this practice was wrong. Well.....anyone......anyone. OK, man is wretched, man creates religion, religion is wretched. Believe in Jesus. You will never go wrong when you believe in Him. Jim
  20. OK, at first I did not think myself qualified to answer this thread as I am not a member of the LDS, but then I rethought my position. Regardless of what your religion is, racial discrimination is never justified. The LDS religion as well as most religions are guilty. I would tell your friend that the LDS religion was wrong, discovered the wrong doing, repented and changed. Religion is man made and has all the flaws of men. Men are wretched. This is why I believe the way I do. Put your faith in Jesus. I can guarantee you this. You will never be let down when your faith is with Him. Jim
  21. Why is this question only to male members?
  22. OK, most of you know me if you are a regular user. This question came up on another thread and I was asked to post it as a new thread. As some of you know, I am not LDS. I am born again. No religion, just a believer in Jesus. In my faith Jesus is God. I have come to understand that this is not the case with the LDS faith. This is why I believe. 1. The introduction to John's Gospel. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (The Word is God). ....and the Word became flesh. (God became flesh..ie Jesus) 2. John 20:19 Thomas declares Jesus as "my lord, my God" and Jesus states how more blessed those will be who believe this on faith alone. 3. John 10:30 Jesus says that I and the Father are one. There is more, but this will do for now. Now I know that many places in the Bible talk about Father, Son and Spirit as seperate persons, but just as you are body, soul and spirit, God is Father, Son and Spirit and you can speak of them separately. I also would not like to get into the whole trinity thing. It has already been tossed around. My question for you are these, (from the LDS perspective) 1. Is Jesus God? 2. When you pray, who is it that you pray to? 3. If Jesus is not God, then was Thomas wrong and Jesus confirmed a lie? 4. Is there more than one God? I will promise you this, I will not respond to any answer. I just want to sit back and learn. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this site. It shows your good faith to allow different point of view. I do not think other such sites from other religions would be as friendly to outsiders, God Bless, Jim
  23. Pam, thank you for your help, I would like to ask you a question and If you want me to make a new thread I will. I understand your position that Jesus and God are seperate. My question is this, do the LDS believe Jesus is a god and when you pray, do you pray to Jesus, Father or Spirit or all or some of the above. I promise I will not comment on any answer. I just want to know your point of view. Thanks for the hard work you do and allowing someone like me to "mix it up" with the good people on this site. Jim
  24. "You must be confused. We are talking about Jesus' birthdate, not God's" Are you a doubting Thomas, Jim
  25. Traveler, these are very wise words. I think you hit the nail on the head. Thank You, Jim
