Scott Gallan- you are loved. -
I am happy that you were able to talk to your bishop and you feel he gave you good advice.

I don't think it has much to do with a testimony. I think swearing shows a lack of respect for ourselves and those around us.

I love your picture. Welcome to the site!

Hopefully you will feel like jumping in and joining us. :)

I think you may need to find out what is really going on in your marriage first. Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Wow, what a story. It sounds like you have someone worth being patient with. Maybe in order for her to deal with this she needed to hear it in "parts". Maybe she needed to be able to give her entire love to you in the middle of this to hold on to for this other information. Have you considered 'courting her'. So many times in a marriage I believe that we take each other for granted. I just adore it when my hubby does something sweet for me out of the blue. The other day when I wasn't feeling well he painted the legs of my kitchen table which I was going to do but had been so busy I had not gotten to it. I had purchased the paint, drop cloth and brush but it had sat for weeks and he had it done in just a couple of hours. Gifts of unexpected service are a great way to say I Love You.

I can't imagine what they would have against you; you are a wonderful woman as far as I can tell. Have you ever tried to get at the root of their problem with you? Many times people act out as if the true issue did not exist because it is easier to but the blame "there". Deep-rooted emotions are what spring us into action like jealousy can be made to look completely different. Many years ago my husband and I joined into a partnership with one of his missionary companions and his wife. We took on the job for promoting a local artist and traveled to art shows promoting his work. We did quite well from everything I could see; we laughed, traveled, and even had our families take outing together. About 8 years into these relationships, out of what I felt was out of the blue, the wife verbally assaulted me in a way, which no one had ever done. She told me that for years she had been tolerating me and she was done with me and didn't ever want to see me again. After the initial shock was over I went into a deep, dark, depression and turned a lot of pain inward. I asked to be released from a calling working with the young women because apparently I was so awful. I withered and melted into a very dark hole. My husband said things to me like just shrug it off, don't let this bother you, etc, etc, which wasn't what I needed either. I went to see a doctor who listened to me, really listened to what I was saying and hearing the whole story. He explained to me that sometimes because of jealously, people make themselves into a victim to get out of a relationship. Our husbands were missionary companions and the two of us were thrown into this partnership and it was her and I who really ran it because our husbands were actually making real money at real jobs. My husband was being very blessed in his career at this time and her husband was struggling jumping from job to job. The part that really got to her was when her husband went to work for my husband. This is something she had created as a problem because we never made a big deal about it. Once I was helped to understand that there are raw emotions, which set people into actions it, has helped me to look at what really drives people and once you know what the true problem is it easier to decide what to do. Communication is key but first you need to have at least two people who want to seek understanding.

I just looked through the book starting from the back, so typical of me. LOL There are some really nice color photos in the back and stuffed in to the front was a note. This book is a gift to you! Hello! I’m Susan Ray Schmidt, author of His Favorite Wife: Trapped in Polygamy Word of mouth has generated most of my book sales. I’m hoping you or a friend will read it, enjoy it, and recommend it to a friend. The woman I saw delivering the book last night was indeed the author Susan Ray Schmidt.

I live near Salt Lake City Utah and we get hit with many interesting things based on location. Tonight I was walking past my front door and saw a vehicle parked in front of my house. I paused as a saw a middle aged woman get out with some baggies with a small book inside and she was approaching my front door. I took it to be someone delivering a new phone book like the small ones ppl keep in their car. I took a second look as I saw that another woman was sitting in the vehicle still but then went about my business. A short time later my daughter walked through the front door calling to me that she had a book for me that was left at the front door. She handed me the baggie that I had seen the woman carrying and said "Mom is there something we need to talk about". The book is called His Favorite Wife Trapped in Polygamy. This is no small book (434 pages) and I wonder why they have chosen my street to deliver these books to0... Has anyone heard of this book? I did a google search and came up with a website. Did anyone else get this book delivered tonight?
