hi tattoo!! I was raised in the church, served a mission, and then became inactive. I too drank and partied and smoked for a long time. I think I felt like you, that I had a testimony but it wasn't enough at the time. I always defended the church and its people. Well, now I have come back and realized that having that testimony the whole time was enough. I knew this is where I should have been and that HF waited patiently for me to return just as He waits patiently for you. I have 2 tattoos that I am not proud of but I also am not going to beat myself up about. It is something I have repented about and that is done. I hope that you can find your way back and that you find that special someone you are looking for. You are loved and we gladly accept you here without reservation. Welcome!! I bet you have a cool accent don't ya'!! :)

the hole in that logic is that the "do not" breeders would start breeding together and create youtubers that are at least a gazillion times worse....(btw, these statistics might be exaggerated)

I'm a ninja and the natural enemy of the samurai. I am silent and a master of the dark art of tickle fighting! I have been trained in the great tradition of the redneck ninja from Jerry Springer so you would do well to always look behind you on this forum. LOL!! welcome to the site!

I am looking for the old show You Can't Do That on Television. I have found some sites recently that have some information and a few old episodes but I was wondering if maybe any of my northern friends have ever come across a collection of the shows on tape or dvd. Or maybe there is a website that has an archive of the shows. Any info would be great. I have tried searching but I don't know wh....<slime>.....LOL!!! Love that show, takes me back!

ask yourself this: Is God bound by time? No, He isn't, so for Him it takes you as long as it takes you. Not a "fun" answer but it is part of the proving that this life is for us. Patience comes through trial. I'm still in mine learning this too, but it helps to understand that one day it will happen....HF knows you and your struggle and He waits patiently for you to grow.

love is hard no matter what age you are or how long the relationship. There are pressures from everywhere. It is hard to think eternally when all your heart and soul seem to do is stick in this moment. Your Heavenly Father loves you and I can assure you that you are not being "punished', that's just not the way He works. There may be a different plan for you than what you think. The hardest thing I've ever gone through is still occuring in my life. I am separated from my wife. She is a non-member and I was inactive for our entire marriage. This event in my life brought me to a point where I knew I could not get through it alone and so I got back on my knees and came back to church. I have had a lot of the same emotions that you have explained. My wife even talked to me about coming back and going to church with me and a lot of other things, but now she has withdrawn again and says we are definitely going to divorce. I have asked if this is punishment for my past and I know that it is not, but it is part of the proving of this life. I cannot control her and her decisions, just like you cannot control him. If it is the Lords will it will happen, for both of us. That has been the hardest for me to accept, but I know now that I am willing to accept the Lords plan for me. I know each day, right now, seems to be endless and like you will never be able to survive without him. And each time you think about him not being with you it hurts, but i also know that we are not here to only have pain. Yes, there is an opposition in all things but that is so when we do experience the joy we can really feel it. Look at my signature "...men are that they might have joy", that is what HF wants for us, but we have to know the pain to know the joy. I'm not trying to make you feel better now, because that will not happen, you must go through this. Your bf must figure out his path, if that is a mission, if that is with or w/o you. HF loves you and He will provide for you if you put your trust and faith in Him.

welcome to the site. I would suggest this site to start: Mormon.org that will give you a lot of the basics. Of course, I also suggest that you talk with the missionaries. Just know that no one will ever pressure you to believe. I think we all believe in being cautious. As long as you are willing to act when you get the witness of the truth. I am sorry for the loss of your child....but one of the things we know is that you can see that child again and your family can be sealed together forever....it's not just "until death do you part". On the website above you can also ask to speak to a representative (missionaries) and they can bring you a Book of Mormon. You are also welcome to ask any questions that you like here and there are many wonderful people that can help to explain anything that you are having difficulty with. Good luck on your journey!!

and if it wasn't sensationalistic enough he ends by saying how he is going to now take all of his money and put it in a safe at his house....sucks how fixing the mistake is no longer enough in this country.

just like a woman to complain and then not accept any of the offered "fixes"!! sheesh!! j/k pam, please don't ban me

welcome to the site!! your testimony is uplifting..thank you for expressing it!

pretty soon every mission in the US will have a spanish speaking part i will say that I find it hard to remember that I am older than the missionaries....i became inactive shortly after my mission and reactivated this year, so the last thing I remember, as far as the church is concerned, I was a missionary....so that's my excuse...oh and I'm young at heart :)

As long as it's not the Chargers!! LOL!!

welcome to the site cricket. no one is going to keep you from attending church...everyone has a search in this life, sometimes 2 or 3, the best thing about Heavenly Father is that no matter how many times you turn away, every time you come back he is there. I hope you find what you are looking for.

It is amazing how this is said by people so often. I have lived in the bible belt (south) my whole life and served my mission to Arkansas, so I have been around it a lot. The thing to remember is that we know that we are not the judge of anyone...and it is very seldom that you will find an LDS member telling any other person that they are going to hell, mostly because it is not for us to say. Love thy neighbor.... :) ok, that was not intended, but still with Love you can let them say what they will. They are usually very strong in this belief and no matter what you might say to try to change their mind it will not do much....what is better is to show them that what they are saying does not affect you or your family and your testimony. I guess because I grew up around it, it has become second nature to just ignore it....and if you don't let it bother you then your daughter will follow your example. And one day, maybe your example will make a difference to your neighbors and they will investigate because of how you lived and loved. Good Luck!

I found an article worth checking out...

Here is a DVD player that will censor a movie as it plays and it says it has several levels of censorship...I don't think I would pay for it but it sounds like a good idea. DeseretBook.com - ClearPlay DVD Player -
