  1. You guys are cruel.
  2. Geez louise.
  3. And I'm going to pass. Even the cheapest seats are around $100. It's not worth it to me.
  4. I think a lot of the time the games are based on network scheduling.
  5. I just might have to think about attending this since it's right near me. I won't be able to watch it on tv as ABC is the only network I can't get here in San Antonio.
  6. Now to put my admin hat on. This is the LDS Gospel Discussion of the Forum . There is no debating our beliefs in this particular section of the forum. Any further comments that go against our teachings or again the Church in general will result in an immediate removal from the site. Please read Rule #1.
  7. That is so not true. The curse of Canaan has often been misinterpreted, particularly during the 19th century, when it was used to justify racial theories linking the Canaanites to people of African descent. However, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has clarified that such interpretations are fundamentally flawed. The Church teaches that the curse associated with Canaan is not a racial or eternal condemnation but a reflection of the covenantal dynamics present in the Old Testament. Also, being Canaanite doesn't mean you are a descendant of Cain. Canaanites were from a particular area called Canaan. Today, many archaeologists and geneticists think that the descendants of Canaan are Jews and Palestinians. The Church's official statement on race and the priesthood disavow any notions that associate the curse with racial inferiority or divine sanction against any particular group, emphasizing that all individuals are worthy of receiving the blessings of the priesthood, irrespective of their lineage.
  8. Well hopefully, our forum members will remember to be kind in their responses. We have a couple that are not always the most kind.
  9. My grandfather was one. He would have been baptized in a heartbeat, but to keep peace in his marriage, he didn't. My grandmother was a very devout Seventh-day Adventist. As I was growing up whenever we would visit you would always find him in a conversation with my dad about our beliefs. My dad did his proxy work for him after he passed. My grandfather was not a demonstrative person when it came to showing affection. But my dad said he could feel arms around him like someone was hugging him in the temple that day.

    Hi all

I say that about colored gel pens. I have an obsession with them.

    Hi all

    Welcome Ruben.
  16. I'm with you. I still like the personal touches of being able to send a letter, a thank you note or Christmas cards through the mail.
  17. He hasn't taken office yet. But I'm expecting our borders will once again close. Or at least an attempt to close them. He has a lot to do and 4 years isn't very long as he can't run again.
  18. I guess when we see which direction you wish to take this we will know if it's appropriate. Welcome to the site. 😊
  19. In my area, we've been getting announcements looking for senior couples to serve, basically, it's a service mission, to open the gates on Sunday during certain hours so people can wander the grounds at the San Antonio temple.
  20. The next step is to take it to their area 70 but only if no satisfaction is gained from the Bishop or Stake level. Not directly to Salt Lake. And no offense to the OP but we are only getting one side of the story.
  21. What exactly is there to appeal that you would suggest taking it to Salt Lake City? This is a ward or stake matter.
  22. I ban 25-30 new spammer accounts every single day.
  23. Talk to your Bishop.
  24. I've heard this, not necessarily about symbols, but any time we receive special revelation or insights within the temple.
