  1. I actually don't have an assigned companion, which complicates this further. For this month, I'm going to go with a card, then ask for more details (my own VT is also the RS president ).
  2. Not entirely accurate. DH and I have life insurance through his employer. That was simply among the list of options we could take when he became eligible for benefits.
  3. Where? I think I like this kid. :)
  4. Since the Authorities are the Lord's representatives, I'm not sure I can honestly claim to be following God if I'm ignoring or rebelling against the leaders of His church.
  5. Wonder if it's similar to the "onion ring sauce" you can get at Burger King?
  6. I completely agree. She and Feinstein have me hating to admit I live here (I sure didn't vote for either of them!).
  7. What's "fry sauce"?
  8. And in other news, the Relief Society and Young Women programs have ceased to function as their members struggle to cope with the loss of a crucial nutrient for women.
  9. Has Boxer always been so full of herself or is this a recent development?
  10. I plan to be there, with a YouTube in mind (although I'm not sure how that would work in chat) and cyber-chocolate cupcakes. Got an alarm set on my PDA and everything. :-)
  11. Don't SCARE me like that! :)
  12. One of my biggest fears is having chocolate outlawed under WoW.
  13. Ack! I thought it was tomorrow (6/18)!!!!
  14. I just encountered a great explanation by James Talmage: "Knowledge is to wisdom what belief is to faith, one an abstract principle, the other a living application." (from "Articles of Faith", ch. 5)
  15. [shrug] I'm 5'4", and my waistband sits at my waist where it belongs, in the regular size, nor do I have trouble with tightness (since I buy my correct size instead of buying smaller so they'll be shorter and I can wear shorter stuff, as some women do), and the waistbands on most of my pants or skirts are thicker. I simply do not understand how if you're buying the correct size that garment wear is such utter torture as some are describing.
  16. I've certainly never had the waistband problem. Buying the correct size helps here, I think. I have had some trouble with lace-edge legs, which is one reason I switched from cotton/poly. Nylon mesh don't have that edging.
  17. I have NEVER heard that one should skip prescribed meds on Fast Sunday! When I was investigating/new member, I was told that one does need to take health questions into account on fasting, and that judgement will be made by God on intent. Are you doing the best your health permits? If so, then you're on track. At least, that's what I've always heard.
  18. I especially love how the swatter doesn't even turn his/her head. Just BAP! as the other one waddles by.
  19. About the only tattoo I've ever seen that had a point (IMO) was one my father got while in the Navy - his blood type.
  20. OK, so if even the guys don't know why that is.... :)
  21. A former VT of mine (still a dear friend) gave me a birthday card last year with a drawing of a woman wearing a T-shirt reading "Hair color is subject to change without notice. The Management". Yeah, it fits me. :)
  22. I have that clip on my system somewhere and it always makes me laugh. I've done a fair amount of call center work, and I've had days where I fantasized about doing this with callers.
  23. Good news for me, since I can now get my husband to watch/listen (can't get him to go the 7 miles to the Stake Center to sit in a crowded room for that session, since he doesn't handle crowded areas well at all, and for some reason can't get him to read the talks). Occurs to me to wonder why that session isn't just broadcast the way the general sessions, the RS conference, and so on are. There's obviously no great confidentiality in the material, since the talks are printed in the Ensign.
  24. I'd be interested too.
