  1. Absolutely! Git R Done!
  2. Gotta use the full name or they'll never learn it. *Poke* *Poke*
  3. I've been a member for 3.5 years and just finally made it through the temple with my wife (lifelong member) about 7 months ago. As Pam said originally, "Just Do It!" If your wife is willing to go with you, that should be a big comfort. You'll feel scared and intimidated and insecure until you just get it done and actually know what it is all about. The fear of the unknown is the worst fear of all.
  4. I definitely get aroused by looking at paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc of nude women. I'm an artist too, but have never done figure drawing because I know I wouldn't be able to do it without sinful thoughts. So for myself, it definitely would be pornography. If you can't draw a naked person of the opposite sex without getting aroused, you could draw a fat old person of your same sex for the figure drawing class to avoid the temptation. lol. That's probably the route I'd have to go.
  5. My wife's first marriage had some similarities to your situation. He was a 2-yr convert to the church, she was lifelong. After they got married, 6 months later he decided that he didn't want to be religious anymore, didn't want to finish college, and didn't want to be married anymore. He threw his entire life away. All he wanted to do was play video games and drink beer essentially. She was devastated and tried her best to stay a faithful wife for him, but ultimately he followed through and divorced her. It was the old saying, "if you love someone you have to let them go." She loved him, but she wasn't going to fight him and try and make him stay. But she did what she could to hold things together. I don't understand how someone can fall out of love so quickly or give up on the 2nd biggest commitment they will ever make. I'm committed until the end, through hell or high water. Through any trial. Nobody will ever be able to say, "Rex8499 wasn't committed to his wife and didn't give it his all." "Divorce can be justified only in the rarest of circumstances. In my opinion, “just cause” for divorce should be nothing less serious than a prolonged and apparently irredeemable relationship that destroys a person’s dignity as a human being." -President James E. Faust Second Counselor in the First Presidency LDS.org - Ensign Article - Enriching Your Marriage
  6. My first fiance felt that it could definitely be said too often and be "worn out." My 2nd fiance and now my wife agrees that you can't over-use it. As long as it's sincere, say it often. And we do.
  7. I say to get the surgery if you want it. If iI were you, I'd want it. If you were my wife, I'd love you without it, but I'd want you to get it. Breasts are my favorite physical feature about a woman. As for size, I would suggest discussing it openly with your husband about what size you want and what size he would like most and try and find a size that is a nice compromise and makes you both satisfied. Yes, this is primarily for you and youre the one who has to carry them around so your opinion trumps, but if you can make both of you happy, why not. Guys tend to be picky about the breasts they like. Some like them small, some like them huge. Some think huge breasts look rather grose. Some like big areolas and some don't. If you haven't asked your husband exactly what he prefers best, you might as well. I'm sure he could tell you what in his mind is the ideal pair of breasts. It doesn't mean that's the only thing he wants, it's just our favorite. My wife doesn't have the ideal pair of breasts in my mind, but they're still great. I'm a B-cup kind of guy. We have talked about after having kids if hers get too big and saggy possibly getting them reduced back to what they are now, or even a little smaller. She's fine with the idea, actually, maybe she even proposed it. I can't remember. But we talked casually about it. I love her no matter what, but there's no harm in going crazy every time she takes off her shirt. I already do. Even if you're lacking enough flesh to stretch over a larger pair, they can do it in stages and let the skin grow and stretch in between. Ultimately you could be any size and shape that you wanted.
  8. Honestly, I'm surprised nobody has shot them yet. The amount of blood they get boiling, especially while protesting military funerals, would seem to get someone with a temper and a gun riled up enough to set up on the grassy knoll.
  9. I just say that I'm "LDS" and if they look confused I say "Latter Day Saint, Mormon." Most of the mainstream Christians I know just say that they are Christian, they do not specify a denomination. The most popular exception being Catholics.
  10. During my wedding, in a chapel, I had to tell my family that they couldnt take pictures until the reception. Since none of them are LDS, THAT didn't go over well at all. But the Bishop had made it clear to me beforehand that no photos were to be taken in the chapel. Too bad.
  11. Mine's pretty generic too. Probably the best argument in your favor with your mother is that if her interpretation was correct, it means that essentially the time of Christs return is known to be within however many years she has left, and I don't think that Heavenly father would tip his hat that much. Not even Jesus knows.
  12. I definitely don't think we could get into the specifics of the similarities and differences between the Free Mason's ceremonies and those in the temple without violating the covenants we made to keep the temple ceremonies to ourselves except while in the temple. But that said, after my first endowment session in the temple, I went online and searched for some free-mason ceremonies that were supposedly similar. I did find one that had some minor similarities, but they definitely weren't the same and did not give me the impression that JS just copied them. During my first temple interview with the stake president he talked about how there may well indeed be some similarities and perhaps they stem from fragments of truth that were still known when free-masonry was established. Seems like the beginnings of it are very unclear.
  13. What size is that stone? Can't tell if it's just a pebble or a something larger from that picture.
  14. If you date a non member, you'll marry a non-member. Maybe that's fine for awhile, but what about when you have kids and argue about which religion to raise them as? As for the online dating sites, there are some big benefits to meeting someone this way. You can interview hundreds of people without taking the time or spending the money to go on dates. Essentially, you're fishing from a much bigger pool and can tell within 30 seconds of profile reading if you're a terrible match and move on without wasting your time with them. I've been on LOTS of dates in my life just to find out that the girl is a vegetarian, or a spoiled daddy's girl, etc. Game over. This was a waste of a date. Wish I'd had some background info before I asked them out. The online dating gives just that. The chances of finding someone who really meshes well with you, both personality wise and shares interests, are fairly slim in the real world. You fall in love with someone because they really are a great person, but you might not share as many interests as you'd like. The online dating significantly increases the chances of falling in love with someone who shares your interests and has a matching personality. I especially liked the personality color code that ldsmingle.com has set up. I took a class in college which dealt with the four personality dispositions, so I put a lot of stock into it and it helps you end up with someone who you can mesh well with, but more importantly it will help you understand yourself and others and why they do some of the things they do which you cant understand. Read a book called Personality Plus for more info on that. It helps a lot in life. The trouble with the online dating is that most people never respond, or never pay for a subscription so they cannot see your flirts/mail/smiles. You waste a lot of time reading profiles of people who will never respond because they cant/wont pay for the subscription.
  15. Be aware that internet browsers now have a "private browsing" option which temporarily disables all history, cookies, saved searches, etc. It's found under Tools: Start Private Browsing. So just because porn sites don't show up in the history, doesn't mean they aren't being accessed. Just a good thing to be aware of. If you think something is going on based on behavior, but cannot find any evidence, it's easy to hide the evidence.
  16. I think that having explained it to my kid, they would just have to deal with it and get over it and accept it. But I don't have kids, so my opinion doesn't count for much. I was 5 when my mom remarried. I don't remember having any problem her dating and showing affection.
  17. I'd love a chance to peek inside that vault...
  18. If we take the dog example even further, say it's a kid getting strangled in the back yard. I'm pretty sure EVERYONE would kick open that gate and run to his rescue without knocking on the front door first. It is justified even though illegal. No matter what the consequences might be, they're worth it. But I challenge you to find a judge who will **** for you such an action.
  19. In my mind, common sense and acting in necessity in a specific situation overrides laws which were made to cover general conditions to preserve general order and safety.
  20. every person I've met who has/is kicking a drug addiction have all started off with alcohol or cigarettes, not pot. Pot's an intermediate step and just the first illegal one. My brother is addicted to pot. Smokes it all weekend long every weekend. But he's still doing well in college and working hard to better himself.
  21. Nope. Other than lowering the frequency of the crime of acquiring illegal MJ. But I would argue that it hasn't raised crime either. Legalizing it will allow it to return as a domestic product like it used to be, circumventing the baddies. It wouldn't continue coming from the troubled world but would become a domestic product just like tobacco. The baddies might cause trouble for awhile trying to keep their profits coming, but eventually their funding will dry up and they will disappear or switch to other products. As opposed to the current setup where they will keep raking in huge profits and doing bad things to protect their greed indefinitely.
  22. Yeah, I meant the breastplate and stones. This other seer stone is the first I've heard about it that I can remember. Does the church have that on display somewhere or is it hidden away in some vault? Or maybe it's the prophets desk drawer to be used as needed?
  23. My parent's let me spend my $3/week that I earned doing chores on whatever I wanted. I was a saver for the big items. Saved for a whole year so I could buy a Nintendo 64. To this day I'm more fiscally responsible than my parents. But my siblings, given the same amount of allowance, spent theirs quickly. It's just a matter of personality I guess. Now in adulthood, I'm well off and my siblings are still broke and just spending for fun. lol. Nothing has changed. I've thought about when I have kids maybe paying them more than I normally would, and having them pay "bills" with their allowance back to me. If they want a special trip into town to visit their friend (a couple gallons of gas from my place in the mountains) I might make them pay $1 in allowance back to me to teach them that such desires do not come without a financial impact. Leave a light on, 10 cent charge. Leave the water running, 10 cent charge. Things like that. Not sure if that would work or not, but I like the idea. It's a lesson my wife never learned. lol. Drives me nuts some days.
  24. Did Moroni take the Urim and Thummim too when he took back the gold plates?
  25. If the light skipped the turn movement for 4 cycles, it was indeed malfunctioning. (I'm a civil engineer, traffic/streets is part of my expertise) At such a time I would have run the red as well, and have done so in the past in the same situation. Running a red light can definitely be accomplished safely if done intentionally and carefully. We do it every day making a left turn out into a busy street from a stop sign. Same concept. No more dangerous. If a cop ticketed me for it, I'd easily fight that one and win. I cannot be expected to sit there indefinitely. Backing up would be illegal too. As would changing lanes at the stop bar. That well may be the case and as such is not legally enforceable. If you get a ticket, go down to the city public works department and request the engineering traffic speed study. If they cannot give the proper documented study justifying a lower than standard speed, the judge cannot enforce the ticket. :) I'll leave the specifics of whether or not they've justified it up to your own research and learning if you need it. Too long to write here, but not complicated. hint: 85th percentile speed.
