  1. Seems kinda odd to come here for a body, and then just be given a new one 'cuz our old one is somewhat... displaced at the moment.
  2. Resisiting... urge... grahhbhahrbhhahahahhaa I've only unfriended one person, my grandma, and it's because she couldn't understand that what shows up in her newsfeed wasn't sent there by me and that it was within her power to hide anything I post from showing up in her newsfeed. I would "like" something, it would show up in her newsfeed that I liked it, then she would message me, and post on my timeline berating me for sending her stuff. Aw, well, we still love each other irl.
  3. Who exactly, is advocating for throwing judgement in anyones face? All I've seen are subtle refusals to praise and call what isn't good, good.
  4. What's more than sad is insulting another human being without provocation of any sort.
  5. So when do we get the youtube link
  6. I may get roasted a bit for this but we went to families house and I guess everyone around them had gone off to mexico for the good ones. It was like a war zone, everybody was firing off some big rockets around us and I couldn't help but think, "What a more fitting way to celebrate than with small acts of insurrection, explosions, and something that sounded like mortar shells going off all around us." Then we had some banana pudding cake and it was delicious.
  7. Yeah, I agree with carlimac, smaller picture is their immediate gratification in sin, bigger picture would be eternal perspective. It's easy to flip this one around, would you expect an atheist who hates religion and theism in general to attend your baptism? Do we as LDS expect non-members that believe we as LDS are all in sin to wait outside the temple while we get sealed? Would you look down on refusal to attend in those circumstances?
  8. If a saint (member) was pin-holed by bullets, cut in half, burnt to a crisp, stabbed multiple times and slapped by a fish all while wearing their garments, no one would blink an eye, doubt that persons worthiness, or concluded they must not have been wearing their garments that day. edit: Although we might all say that person is really unlucky and should've chosen a better route to come home from work, or something...
  9. My old stake has a ward in it's local prison. (not to veer the thread off topic)
  10. Just make sure a bearded old guy or a boat is prominent with the rainbow, I think most people would get what the rainbow is symbolic of then. Or more subtle an olive tree and maybe a dove.
  11. It's not the internet if a thread isn't hijacked now and again. Although not the case with this thread, it's a great way to dissuade the internet ner'do'wells, to turn their "bash the mormons" thread into a thread about opening pickle jars. It works particularly well. (fine, got it, cease and desist, no more hijacking for me today, I'll try really hard. I promise.)
  12. "Infanticide" is the logical extension of abortion. It has been argued by Julian Savulescu in the Journal of Medical Ethics that the arguments that hold for abortions, also hold for infants, which do meet all the criteria used to rationalize abortions for a fetus. Fundamentally, they argue that abortion and infanticide are morally equivalent. I'm sure you can find some news articles discussing the journal, it's in my opinion, the best argument against abortion.
  13. Then why is it when I walk into a room of them I'm suddenly being given lists of things to do for them?
  14. He didn't say that, he said that what he is congratulating comes at a spiritual cost to society. So why should he congratulate what he see's as something detrimental to society. It's akin to congratulating that guy at the gas station who buys minors alcohol. "Congrats guy at the gas station, I'm glad you get the warm fuzzies with your charitable help for our towns minors" Not only is that ridiculous, it actually reinforces his idea that he is doing good.
  15. I second the android/iOS app thought. It would be nice if the forums were updated to vbulletin 5.
  16. The computer industry and it's acronyms...
  17. It seems that the ninth circuit is giving California 25 days to appeal the Judge Walker's decision before they lift the stay on it.
  18. Using bolded or italicized letters comes off better for emphasise. Many will see caps as yelling or anger.
  19. As I understand it Prop 8 isn't quite dead. SCOTUS Marriage Decision - Confusion Reigns - Alliance Defending Freedom
  20. Juicing? I kid, I kid.
  21. For me it's about another "s" word, sacred. What my wife and I do in our bedroom is very intimate and very sacred. It's a discussion that mostly stays within our marriage except select appropriate times. I don't generally divulge very intimate sacred experiences at public events.
  22. This thread is going exactly where I had hoped it would
  23. The OS doesn't matter, one is however cheaper to acquire than the other.
  24. When you add to something, what was there is often diluted afterward.
