  1. If it did go how the kids say, do you believe the man deserves criminal charges?
  2. Just to throw a personal bit in, I was a fatherless child, seeing other kids make stuff for daddy didn't "make me feel sad". Mothers and Fathers are very important, they deserve their two separate days of being honored. Stop trying to take it away from them because some "parents" don't live up to the responsibility.
  3. Clearly there is a grain of faith in God in your heart if you are attempting to pray.
  4. I think for a quick read this should suffice Elijah
  5. In my state, they get minimum wage in addition to tips.
  6. I got married at 21, my wife was 20, we knew each other several months before we got engaged and we were sealed about a year after we met. This is year 7 for us, I wouldn't have done it any different.
  7. I was able to. It seems they have vanished since the last time I've seen this thread.
  8. The guilty until proven innocent argument doesn't hold a lot of water with me. "If you have nothing to hide, why does it matter if we search your home?"
  9. I just love all of this melding of local song culture stuff. It's so sweet.
  10. On an only slightly related note, today I observed an ambulance pull up to an old man who wasn't moving in his power scooter. The man acknowledged them, and he was fine I guess, but I am glad notice was taken. He could've been in big trouble, it was hot today.
  11. Yeah, I live in a place that gets to 118 in the summer, kid alone in a parked car is an immediate 911 call. If all windows were down and it was a place like a gas station where a quick run into the store is normal, then like jenmarie said, keep an eye out.
  12. I guess the version I sang as a child isn't politically correct anymore. I hate you, you hate me Let's chase barney up a tree With a .45 magnum, shoot him in the head Look everybody, Barney's dead!
  13. Was ladybug larvae, boy do they look scary. Who knew it was a good guy? I was sure it was going to eat my zucchini plant all up.

  16. I would say the right to defend myself comes way, way, before the right to have a highly trained medical personnel cut me open for a societally shared cost.
  17. *a bit of a side track* I get itchy when people think the constitution is a finalized list of rights, it's not, and some of the founders opposed the Bill of Rights just because the government might decided that's exactly what it is.
  18. I agree with jenamarie that it was stupid to not take the plea deal. But 14 to 18 is a very large gap, I'd call it differently if the gap were only 2 years, and I'd have to say most people wouldn't blink twice at prosecution if it were an older male and a younger female.
  19. I would say an excommunicated man *could* wind up as an apostle in the sense that a dinosaur fossil *could* be in my potted plant soil on my condo's balcony. But I'm just spitting into the wind to see which way it blows.
  20. Our BSA camp had amazing food and a chef with a temper!
  21. I just had a dream that I moved back to Phoenix, my house was huge, and impossibly at the splitting of one large liver into two rivers (there's only one river flowing through Phoenix) I turned to my wife and told her I had to get a fishing license now. That was the entire dream. I guess mine just aren't as deep as ya'alls dreams.
  22. Where else are you supposed to run around in your birthday suit? At home? That's not as fun.
  23. Honestly, it's a bit different than the proposed boy/ girl sleeping in the same tent scenario where the attraction is shared. With the occurrence of at most 6% of the population being homosexual, it'd be awfully rare for a troop to have more than one homosexual member at a time. I think the situation you are contemplating (two homosexual boys sharing a tent) would be the very rare exception rather than a commonplace norm. My question is, when that situation does come up, would groups cry discrimination if the boys were not allowed to sleep in the same tent? Regulating sleeping arrangements would seem a sensible move to me.

  25. It just occured to me that I've never thought of raffle tickets as gambling, although it really is just like a lottery isn't it. Thanks for ruining raffles for me.
