I suggest that you repent and PRAY. It makes sense only through the Spirit. The Spirit is a form of communication higher than sound and sight.
-
Heck no, it does not send that message. Getting married civilly does NOT make it right. However, it does stop the sinning behavior, but it doesn't necessarily change hearts. There is still repentance to be done. I think it's ridiculous to try to be abstinent for a year or so after having had sex many times. Getting married is taking responsibility! (This is only when the couple really should be getting married.) What if a couple is good for a few months and then mess up again? They have to start the clock all over. If they had been married, the clock would not start over and they could be on their way to to temple sooner.

Has an appointment been set up yet?
-
Dear Sister, I am thinking you will not do anything without some more help. How about being a little accountable to us? Let us know when you have an appointment with you bishop! Make it for this Sunday! We will not stop inquiring about whether you have done it. You wrote: I really think you need to start out by going ALONE. It is up to YOU. Is your boyfriend in your ward? If not, maybe he will not even lose his job. As a sidenote, I think mhsmd's situation was quite different. It sounds like your problems have gone on for far longer and you are far less likely to get the result that mhsmd did. I just have to disagree with this. Getting married can show that a couple is ready to own up to how they have been living. They can still have a change of heart.

So is this the same guy? How have you been together?
-
Sounds like he's at BYU. That is a real pickle. Do you want to marry a man who won't own up to his actions and face the consequences?
-
You are already doing the act of marriage, so why not get married? There's no point in waiting so you can go to the temple. And maybe you will NEVER get there. A sealing after a civil wedding is just as valid. You have pretty much thrown out the option of a temple marriage now. Just get married!

It's a tiny walk in a safe neighborhood for our deacons. No adults needed.

It's "okay" to drink caffeinated soda, but I would advise against it. I've been trying to kick the habit for years. I hate the stuff now.

Okay, I know my post wasn't helpful. Here's my story. I dated a girl before my mission. I started to really like her so I broke up with her. We still wrote letters during my mission, but I was free. She dated some. Now we're married.

Run away and be free! There's very little good to having a girlfriend while on a mission.

Also, you might get too attached to your job! Don't let that happen. Always keep in mind that you will leave your job to have children. -

Take the in-laws out of the equation! I say get him through school as quick as possible, but then DON'T PUT OFF HAVING KIDS for other reasons. Yes, the ultimate advice is to pray and it's between you and the Lord. We all know that. I am just giving advice based on my experiences. -
Moses and other prophets spoke to the people as men and leaders and gave their own thoughts, opinions, and judgements. At other times they spoke in the capacity of a prophet of God and in His name. The official statements from our prophets are the Word of the Lord. The notion that the pope is infallible is just laughable.

Would it do more damage to come clean?

I made no mistake. It doesn't matter if Adam was labeled specifically as a "Christian." He had the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
-
Absolutely. Of course Adam was a Christian! Jehovah is the God of the Old Testament.
-
AMEN! There is NO religion that pre-dates Christianity.

I don't mean to knock Eastern religions, but they fall short in ways and are plain wrong in others. They don't address the pre-existence (neither do other Christian churches, though), they are completely wrong about who God is (very important), they have no concept of the Atonement, and their ideas of the afterlife are incorrect. In short, they don't don't teach correct principals about salvation. Of course, I do appreciate their good qualities.
