Those missionaries would have to pry them from my cold dead hands!!!

I'm random, not mean:p

What do you have to do to be denied membership?
-
More I think a useless fact because it brings nothing to the conversation, other then I am aware Michigan exists and have been there:lol: unless you meant something completely different, it is late so I am off the wagon

doesn't say anything about him claiming on being "bigger then Jesus" its an untrue statement, since after he died the church had off shoots. But that didn't happen until after he died, right?
-
Who me? Well I will tell you know the church isn't getting any of my dolls, they are like pets or diminuative, resin off spring That and... how do you give 10% of a doll? How would they know if they were given a 50 dollar pair of boots vs a 10 dollar one?

What do people think of The Book of Mormon?
Lakumi replied to Meerkatarmy's topic in General Discussion
for all the flack they give Mormons (like every other religion) they are often nice to them, in the episode All About Mormons, the Mormon family is shown as super nice, much to the confusion of others. One of the characters wants to be Mormon (and make his family Mormon) because he thinks it will make his home happier. -
From what little I know of tithing its 10% of any increase-money wise-regardless if someone hands it to you or you work. Me myself, my increases are in things, like dolls... Never asked anyone, seriously, about that one... lol

sometimes yes, sometimes no. As I have said before-in another thread, I generally have no idea if I will go to church on any given Sunday, due to how my moods change, how sometimes I feel completely unwilling to see anyone and will not leave the house. Sometimes I am fine and go as normal, sometimes I feel cold and unhappy when there (which I more think is the air conditioning as I have always had bad effects to it). I am a loner, and feel prefectly comfortable about that. I am also very impulsive, I've done things like go to another city for the day or two on a total whim (usually on weekends since for the vast majoirty of my working life I have had a 9-5 monday to friday sort of job). How does a loner function in such a place?

Useless fact, Michigan is the only US state I have visited. Detroit was a sad looking city...

Yeah religion is weird. My friends, who are largely athest, can't even imagine how people can believe in a God, much like some of you I imagine can't comprehend how someone doesn't believe in a God To you, the answers are all there-especially in a church that goes out and tells people that. I remember talking to a missionary about that,

Or they believe in another religion entirely... Then its more what, say Shiva wants. Can't force faith on yourself, or change one's beliefs to accept dogma. Changing ones self for something they are on the fence about or don't believe in, is good for no one, I think.

In our world of easy information and stupid people, getting noticed often is all some people need. I saw some hoax someone invented about Facebook banning religious talk and pages and etc and it got near 12 000 shares. Now I don't think this one guy will do anything but complain, and accomplish very little, reading that whole thing... when did that ever seem like a good idea to the guy?!

if you use good ol' fashioned traps, bait them with peanut butter, not cheese rodents are much smarter then we give them credit for and can set off the trap without getting hurt to get the cheese, peanut butter they cannot.

you can't spend your life being hateful and bigoted and expect anything nice from people upon your death. I won't cheer for anyone's death, but I feel no remose for the scorn he has received due to the choices he made in life.

Jesus Christ Superstar isn't supposed to be funny -
I know that, perhaps I could have extended that a tad more, but the opportunity will most likely come to me in due time

Not all unreligious families are broken and awful, just like not all religious families are fantastic and perfect. There was no religion in my family, and my parents are great people. Something like that is just spitting in the face of everyone who isn't part of your religion, regardless of how good they can be, or how lousy you all can be.

Do you think it is a dealbreaker for investigators?
-
Yeah and also, a lot of people at your age just aren't too keen on commitment. Either they are immature, don't understand it, or are afraid, or just don't want it...
-
Well first and foremost, deeply think on my belief in God, since I don't believe God speaks to anyone. I'd be a little mad, I've been told something I can't prove. You can't prove faith to people, and in a lot of ways you can't disprove it either. One can't truly prove if Joseph Smith was or wasn't a Prophet, its ultimately a thing of faith. Proving what the scroll means and the purpose of all the things in it is something I can do, its not a thing of faith, its reading words and understanding a culture.

yes, this...beautiful!
