  1. by who? There's no Mormons in my family
  2. I still haven't seen that movie, been so caught up with my favourite show (Fist of the North Star) which sadly doesn't feature any 8 foot tall, magical-martial arts using Mormons...
  3. best bet is Duel Survival, in my opinion!
  4. No...but I did rewatch the episode of Man vs Wild where Bear Grylls drank his own pee!
  5. I always thought some people were a tad unfair to the LDS church, in terms of its past, when there are other churches with even worst past (even if you only go back to 1830) the Catholic one being the prime example! Maybe cause they come to your door who knows...
  6. That makes sense, wasn't George Albert Smith the last President to wear a beard as President?
  7. But what about the Mission in Antartica? The LDS church must bring order to the Mountains of Madness!
  8. only magazine I hold as divine scripture is White Dwarf:lol:
  9. Isn't Forbes a magazine?
  10. Canada makes everywhere (save Alaska) look wonderful in terms of cold... The snow, the ice, the cold-far above anything the US really ever gets.
  11. Which I never understood since the LDS church gave the world some of the finest beards in our modern age.
  12. if she gets called to Canada, no matter where you are and no matter how warm it might be (in spring and fall), it could snow the next day, badly!
  13. I hold them up near my face in the "Namaste" style, as I fidget far too much other ways
  14. Does the church say anything about people with those sorts of issues? Like what they should do?
  15. It's catching on!
  16. me too! I seek to be happy now, because I am alive now, and know I exist now. Sure I will exist longer dead then alive, but I don't feel -at the moment- to push myself to make sacrifices for a life I cannot be proven exists. That doesn't mean I see religion as pointless, things like the Book of Mormon have things, wisdom to teach me. Which is why I still read it. Regardless if I think it is actual history or even divine. But that's a completely different conversation.
  17. I don't need a reward for my life to have meaning. I don't need that, I want to simply enjoy my time I have on this earth and be happy. My ultimate goal is happiness in this life, because it is the only life I know for a fact, to exist.
  18. Yeah I have a lot of sensory issues too, and it can be intolerable at times with things. Also get effected by temperatures differently and that effects it too. Everything I own is put to my tests, every blanket, all my socks and hats, coats, everything. I don't think I could ever wear those, because it would drive me crazy, make me sick ... Its really hard to descibe just how it works with my brain. How I have to sleep, what I wear to sleep, what I'm doing...
  19. Or drives them insane
  20. I knew that missionary was horrifed to the pit of his very soul when he saw Ivy in her coffin
  21. I've never heard athiests talk about the afterlife. To them, there is none. As I have heard told to me, and said myself in the past, this is the life they (and I) know to exist, there is no need for fear. To them Heaven is a shallow reward for a life of service to other humans they deem unworthy. And Hell is the thing to make them afraid and to join a church (all claiming to be the right one). Donno how many religous people have come up to me and said "this is the right church, you're wrong!" Gets a tad tiring after awhile...
  22. Just because someone is nice to me, doesn't mean I would change my belief system because of it. And if they were only nice to me because they wanted to "save me" (especially if i was an athiest) I'd be fumming, and would never speak to them again. Even now, I understand where people are coming from in matters like that, but if I wanted religion I would seek it out, its not hard, the internet is right at my fingertips. I don't appreciate people trying to make me afraid to join a religion. And I refuse to listen to those sorts.
  23. Ah, well best of luck to him-or her. Hope their adolesance turns out better then mine:lol:
  24. I never liked the idea of saying something like that, because to me, you can't know anything unless proven. That, I admit is a very aspergers sort of thinking. I would never say a church is true, even if I believed in it. Because I just don't like how that sounds.
  25. I don't usually site that as a cause for things, but yes that is true-and I have started a trend in the thread of useless facts... so it can't be all me
