Oh yeah, it is one hilarious website... Today's top headline was the Judge Sotomayor was called into jury duty and wasn't able to start on her first day as a Supreme court judge. Had quotes from her that it was a 'waste of time', that she had tried to plead she had sciata and wasn't able to sit for long periods of time, but the judge allows a recess every 2 hours, so now the 'other jurors hate [her]'.

Why would anyone expect less of Kallifornya? Their gov't is a mess, they have special interests demanding that their programs be funded whether there is money or not. My concern is that my state (The Republik of NY) will soon be following suit, what with the Crackhead in Albany (who succeeded the Whoremongering Hypocrite of Albany) running things. And it isn't much of a stretch to see this playing out in the country as a whole soon enough. We keep spending money we don't have (except to print it) and devaluing the dollar in the process. Everyone has their hand out (did you hear those people in Detrot: Obama's giving me money! That's why I voted for him!). It just can't work that way... Pretty soon my 401k will be worth a Big Mac meal, if the gov't will let me eat it....

Yes, Satan will be imprisoned when Christ returns for the 1000 years, but he will be loosed for a while and then the end comes. Then will be the final judgment of men and of the world. I also believe that our own 'rap' sheets will be weighing heavily on us, but as I told Traveler, given that Satan is known as 'accuser of the brethren' it makes sense to me that he will still play a part in our final judgement before he is cast off into outer darkness and no longer has any power at all to tempt us. JMHO...

Des,I understand what you are saying, but I just don't think that God works in that way, telling some of his 'chosen' ones that the LDS faith is true (for PC, he will probably feel that those that are in his faith are the 'chosen' ones. I am simply using it as an example), while others he lets believe 'lesser' or 'other' things because that is all they can handle. We who are on the earth all chose Christ and his plan in the pre-existence. I don't think we decided that Islam would be better for us in this life than the Gospel of Christ. I think that it is thru the craftiness of men, the deceptions of Satan and the like that have led to the schisms in religion we have, as well as people getting different answers. We have been told that we need to have the Spirit with us to discern what is really true (the last conference was chock full of talks telling us to get the Spirit). Within and without the church, this is a HUGE issue, mainly because we are so 'advanced' now that we can explain a lot of things away with science (or at least, our understanding of science). Christ himself stated that the Spirit was the only true witness, and that while you could deny Christ as a man, if the Spirit bore witness to you of his divinity and THEN you denied him, it was a bad, bad thing. I believe that if you're a Catholic, you should be the best Catholic you can be. But when the Spirit comes and tells you that the LDS church gives you the answers you were looking for, then you need ot respond to that prompting and move forward. We will all be judged according to the light we have rec'd thru this life, but we will not be allowed to continue in that lesser light. We will need to embrace the greater light when it is given us in order to progress. So I don't think that the various religions are on the earth because our HF knew all of this children wouldn't be able to handle the full truth so he prepared a way for them to gain some knowledge. Satan used men, some deceptive men and some that were doing the best with the light that they had, to create other religions that taught 'a form of godliness but denied the power thereof'. just mho...

Traveler, Thanks for that. I will do that search and see what I find as well. You make very good points for your thoughts on this, and as I said, the final day of judgment becomes (to me) more like a trial that ever before, with Satan as the chief prosecutor, accusing us of everything and submitting we aren't deserving of mercy, and Christ as the defense attorney, stating it is all true, but that he wants us there for other reasons more important than what Satan is throwing out. As I thought of that, I thought of me, in particular, wanting more than ever that His atoning blood would hide my sins and save me from the horrors of hell. I see myself begging for that help. Made me realize that I should be doing more of that now, and not waiting until the day of trial...

I'm all for it. We are neglecting a great source of energy. I know, there is the problem of getting rid of the waste. But if we would let the free enterprise system work on it for a PROFIT (gasp!) because there is a demand for it, I have no doubt a solution could be worked out. Even the Japanese, the only nation to be at the wrong end of a nuclear bomb, have nuclear power plants all over the place. Chernobyl is not a good argument against nuclear power. For one, WE have no control over what other gov'ts or nations do. For another, the USSR was notoriously bad at doing anything except keeping their people down, with very lax regulations and a criminal lack of concern for what it did to the people or environment (as an aside, so is China, but that is a politically incorrect thing to say these days, as they have been 'reformed' apparently, and besides, they hold a ton of our debt...).

I am a skeptic and true believer this is a total scam. 99 truths with 1 lie mixed in makes it all a lie. The earth goes thru changes, and even if Algore and his merry band of crazy tree huggers scream that we are destroying our planet, they can't change what nature will or will not do. They cannot create or eliminate ONE sunspot, one degree of movement of the earth's axis, none of it. The lack of sunspots this year has led to widespread cold (here in the Western NY area, I would say that we went from spring to fall. Had 10 days of weather hot enough to turn on my a/c), and this winter is predicted to be brutal. We need to be good stewards. But HF also blessed us with the resources necessary to live a good life, and to be able to spread the gospel to every land, nation, and people. And for everyone that always say that others are 'in it for the money' and thinks that Algore is so lily white, and has pure motives out of love for his planet ought to look at WHY he is really interested in all of this crap. The Nobel Peace Price has become a joke anyway, after Gore was selected for making us aware how terrible humans are for ruining this world. Where the he!! is the peace in that?
